- Sheina L0 contributionsDay trip from Antigua to Lake AtitlanMy husband and I went to Guatemala for my birthday week and Gerardo was our guide for a day trip to Lake Atitlan on my birthday. Gerardo and our driver Melvin were amazing and made the day a memorable one! We had a personalized private tour, which honestly felt more like a day with friends. Gerardo gave us a brief history of Guatemala on our drive from Antigua, he set us up with a private boat ride on the river and a lovely lunch on the lake. He even arranged for the restaurant we had lunch at to sing me happy birthday, which I wasn’t expecting. It really was a great day. Highly recommend using his services.Written April 7, 2024
- aoifef9450 contributionsGreat time! 5 star!I had the best time on my tour with Geraldo. He was very considerate of our wishes and we saw parts of Antigua that we would have never known about without him. He’s such a friendly guy who really enjoys his job and you can see how much he loves his country through his knowledge. We really enjoyed every moment and couldn’t recommend this more!Written January 25, 2023
- StevenWigan0 contributionsCruise stopWe found Gerardo by chance and what a lucky find he was! Charming friendly and informative he walked us through Antigua answering all our questions and taking us to all the main spots. He got us into places we would never have even known existed, why people wander around places without a guide is strange to me.. Gerardo was worth every penny of his extremely reasonable price. If we ever visit again we will be sure to look him up.Written January 24, 2023
- tarunjada920 contributionsAmazing Walking Tour in AntiguaGerardo did an amazing job during the walking tour in Antigua. He was very lively, cheerful, and polite. He patiently showed us all the places and explained the history very well. In addition, we got to try some unique fruits and snacks. I would highly recommend him for your walking tour!Written January 17, 2023

Gerardo is an excellent guide! He took me on a spectacular journey through local farms and villages, which were fantastic in themselves, but the best part was Gerardo himself. He seems to know everyone, and he shares both his and their insights on the current and historical condition of Guatemala. I go to Antigua often and I look forward to working with Gerardo for many more local insights.

What a fine Gerardo was and so glad we were introduced to him, we wouldn't have seen the real Antigua Guatemala.
He walked us around Antigua, and took us in to building we wouldn't have thought of going into.
The old monastery, now a hotel was a real surprise and to see parts of the original building being looked after and cared for was just wonderful.
We didn't have any specific itinerary for Gerardo so he took us to what he thought was worth seeing, including a stop off for local coffee and beer, definitely recommend the Skybar, what a find with such beautiful views.
Definitely would seek Gerardo out again, fingers crossed we do get to return and do look him up if you are heading to Antigua.

It is a beautiful December Thursday morning, we joined a Colonial Antiqua shore excursion of our Cruise Lines. Antigua is a famous ancient city in Guatemala, Central America. It was founded in the Panchoy Valley, close to the peaks of the Agua and Fuego volcanoes.
Our bus tour guide wanted us to watch Fuego volcano eruption. Our first stop of tour was the cathedral church of San Jose. We took a handful pictures through the Arches. Then we walked to a Plaza with a large fountain of mermaids. Having gone through the “Arco de Santa Catalina”, we arrived “Iglesia de La Merced” that is a beautiful 18th century church with yellow facade.
While walking to visit a jade museum, we noticed an unusual seen vertical sundial. Finally we had our lunch in Arrin Cuan Antigua. In summary, this is a wonderful informative cultural tour.

We were really lucky to meet Gerardo in Antigua, Guatemala. We only had one day, visiting from a cruise ship, and wanted to make the most of it. We had planned to do it on our own but it quickly became evident that we would see a lot more and learn a lot more if we hired a local guide.
Gerardo efficiently took us from place to place. We could tell right away that he had a plan, but was open to our ideas and needs. Some places we visited we would have never thought to look for and some we wouldn't have ever found without him. We also went places that we might not have been brave enough to visit independently. He listened to our requests and followed though.
Gerardo was patient and kind, knowledgable and helpful. A lot of people greeted him on the streets as we made our way. He helped us with communication with other locals.
We had advised him of our bus departure time and he walked us back to the bus pick up location and made sure that we were there on time.
Overall, we had a great day in Antigua, thanks to Gerardo. We would happily hire him to be our guide again and have no hesitation recommending him.

Gerardo was as good as it gets with a guide! He made sure the tour was personalized to me and my interests. Starting from being kind, and having a lot of empathy and knowledge of Antigua Guatemala, Gerardo showed a lot of passion towards his work. And like any good guide, he knew how to adapt and give me very good recommendations for eating and where to visit. Without a doubt, Gerado stood out as my guide and he recommended it to everyone who wants to enjoy a personalized tour ☺️

Gerardo is such a kind person. I am glad we chose to do the tour with him. He is bilingual, knowledgeable, and professional. He has great communication and is able to help you with other tours if needed.
He took us around and showed us some important places and gave us the history of it. We definitely felt comfortable with him. He is a lot of fun!
Besides the walking tour, we asked if he could do the tour of Altamira and Hobbitenango with us, and he did. He arranged everything from transportation to the return trip. He also gave us suggestions of what to do.
Definitely recommend!

Gerardo is fantastic! My daughter and I spent six hours with him on the surrounding villages of Antigua tour. We visited a chocolate factory, a macadamia nut farm and a women’s cooperative where we shared a meal with the women, practiced making tortillas and learned about the history and production of the beautiful hand-woven fabrics. Along the way, Gerardo taught us all about the history and culture of Guatemala. His knowledge is exceptional. But is it his wisdom and joy that contribute to him being an excellent guide. We feel like we spent the day with a good friend. Gerardo is our go to guide for future trips to Antigua.
