- 1Parque Nacional Volcan De PacayaStop: 3 hours - Admission includedPacaya is the most active Volcano in Guatemala. It boasts beautiful rivers of lava which can be seen year-round, weather permitting. These rivers of lava are best seen before the sun rises. Once atop Pacaya we'll roast marshmallows in the lava and have a cup of hot chocolate / coffee where we'll enjoy a stellar view of Volcan de Agua, Volcan de Fuego and Volcan Acatenango. We'll spend about 45 minutes at the top and then begin our descent, which usually takes about an hour. On our way back into Antigua we'll pass by Zone 0, which what we now call the area that got devastated by Volcan de Fuego's eruption back in June 2018. The group will be back in Antigua at around 9:30am.Read more

This was an unbelievable day! We started at 4:30 am departing from Antigua to make it to the Pacaya Volcano summit by sunrise. The bus was aesthetically beautiful, extremely comfortable and fostered a very friendly environment with a bunch of other 30-somethings onboard. Not too mention, there were snacks and wifi included. The best part of it all was the tremendous knowledge the tour operator, Piero, had. Climbing up the volcano with him was like being in a NATGEO show, he knew everything and extremely helpful. I would recommend this tour to anybody looking for memorable experiences while in Guatemala.
