We had an amazing time at Lake Atitlán, thanks largely to the breathtaking scenery and our exceptional driver, Marlon. He was fun, passionate, and incredibly knowledgeable, with excellent English—far better than our tour guide. While our guide was a native local and clearly tried his best, the language barrier made it difficult to fully enjoy and understand the cultural and historical context. Thankfully, Marlon bridged the gap on our return trip, providing valuable insights and correcting missing details. We also loved visiting a textile shop, where the lady’s engaging introduction was a highlight. Overall, the trip was good, but it could have been even better with a stronger guide. Huge thanks to Marlon for making it a memorable experience!

The driver Marlon who picked us up from the hotel was very friendly and knowledgeable. We started the trip with the views of Fuego volcano puffing ashes in every 5 minutes or so on our drive to the reserve. There we met another guide to take us for the bird watching tour. We barely saw 5-6 birds on the tour, but the guide was very nice and explained about the rainforest and the eco-system there. At the end of our walk, we reached a small waterfall. From the birdwatching perspective, the tour was disappointing. We left to Toliman island around noon, after birdwatching. We had lunch at the Toliman hotel, which offered one of the best seafood options. We ended up taking dinner also togo from Toliman hotel. We spent some time walking on the shores of Lake Atitlan there. The hotel Toliman's backside gate opens to Lake Atitlan. Beautiful views of the lake from the hotel and the shore. Around 2.30pm, we started out trip back to the hotel and reached Antigua by 4.30pm.

Byron was wonderful, helpful, and knowledgeable of the history & interesting information about Antigua. He also was a good driver.

Had a wonderful time with GT Business and Travel, they organized two tours for us, Atitlan which was amazing with a wonderful local guide who took us to three of the towns on the lake. We were able to learn a lot about the local Maya culture as well as how different outside cultures have mixed with Maya culture to create what we see today. Our guide Joel was amazing, knowledgeable, friendly and the trip would not have been half the experience without him. I loved beautiful Atitlan and my time there. Additionally they also organized a day trip to Tikal which was also wonderful and well put together. we had a private driver and guide as well who made the experience comfortable and simple. We learned a lot about the region as well as got to climb the various temples throughout Tikal national park. The company as a whole was great, well organized. Our main point of contact Byron was extremely helpful and communicative making sure that all of our private drivers were able to easily connect with us without hassle. Transition points during our trip were without any stress because of this. We also had amazing private drivers during our stay. A special shout out to Marlon who made us feel safe, comfortable and also shared a lot of valuable information about the country which enhanced our experience as well. I would recommend the Atitlan tour as well as Tikal with GT business and travel and will be using them again when i inevitably return to Guatemala in the future.

The daily trip to lake Atitlan and the surrounding Mayan villages of San Juan, San Pedro and Santiago Atitlan was absolutely worth it! Marlon, was not only a careful driver, but also a great storyteller. Once we reached Lake Atitlan, Roberto took over. Roberto, a native from one of the villages, was a great guide, too. Overall this trip is worth! 100% recommend!!!

Pablo was our tour guide and he was passionate about everything Guatemala! We learned a lot from him. Antigua is a sweet city with lots to see and beautiful handmade crafts to buy!

This was such an amazing experience…Beautiful views. El lago de atitlan was beautiful to say the least. Our tour guide was great and very helpful. The tour involves a bus that picks you up from your hotel and takes you the the lake. There you meet your tour guide and take a boat around various areas in the lake. Lots of opportunities to shop, eat, etc. This is an experience I’d want to do again.

We had an amazing and safe trip with Marlon. He was very informative and helpful with explaining the culture and history to us on the way to our destination! Would most definitely book again!

Marlon came to pick us up from our hotel in Antigua in a comfortable, clean air conditioned car. He was such a perfect guide. Explained things to us as we were driving with a lot of care and patience. We stopped in a pit stop and he offered to take photos of us. He really was the perfect tour guide. When we were 5 minutes away from panajachel, he called the guide that was going to take us across the lake and that guide was waiting for us when we got there. Marlon really was A++! Thank you!

So thankful for our driver Marlon and the booking system set up by Byron. We arrived a bit delayed but driver was patient and super friendly and professional. Despite some traffic from airport to Antigua, we made it one time to hotel for check in. I look forward to working with GT again!

Getting a private transfer with GT Business and Travel was one of the best decisions my husband and I made while planning our trip to Guatemala.
