        Extreme Orientation!
Max and Emma were great. Max has a lifetime of island knowledge and knows his stuff. Emma navigated the Norfolk Island roads like a queen. The mornjng tea was lovely overlooking the beautiful coast. What an island and experience, thank you!

        Pleasant evenings entertainment.
An interesting evening hosted by a ghost with a dry sense of humour. Stories brought smiles rather than terror. Meal was tasty. When booking ensure you state any dietary requirements. I wasn’t asked of any so assumed alternatives would be available for a diabetic. There wasn’t. Bus driver and hostess were very mindful of tripping hazards and made sure everyone alighted the bus safely. Take your own drinks as only water is supplied.

Fantastic learning about our history, especially convict history.
You really learn a lot about the convicts & the way they lived at the settlement at Norfolk Island. Very tough time! Also see their gravesites. Max was a very passionate tour guide; well done Max!

        The Spirits Are Alive
Norfolk Island is haunted. We are ghost hunters having been to some of the most haunted places in the world. We decided to join this tour with a small amount of our professional equipment. Boy we were not disappointed having clearly seen and communicated with three spirits. Now the tour is excellent in the meal provided and the host (dressed and acted as a departed) were terrific. Highly recommend for all to go on this.

        Great start to today
This was a fantastic experience and high recommendation to Diesel. The tour comprised grey nomads but all there concerns and needs were handled with extreme expertise. His commentary during the walk was so interesting. The breakfast cooked by two highly skilled Fijians making it a highlight. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone especially grey nomads

        Wonderfully Handled
Firstly I must applaud this company and all its staff. They are all beyond fantastic. We were fortunate enough to interact with a number of them. This tour is fantastic as we are given a great understanding of the island. The hotel transfers were awesome. Now the bad stuff THERE ARE NO VISITORS TO THIS FABULOUS ISLAND UNDER 55. It resembles a grey nomad escape from civilisation. Pintree were awesome how they handled them and should be applauded. Unfortunately due to the age demographic we won’t be returning. But if you’re a grey nomad I highly recommend this company and all its staff.

        Home food with history
A fantastic night, with 3 tasty courses & hearing the life & times of descendants of Fletcher Christian. The locals open up their homes to us & are happy to share their stories with you with sometimes a bit of a slant on history.

        A thoroughly enjoyable morning
This is a very pleasant and relaxed way to start your day. We were picked up at our accommodation and offered a choice of a shorter or longer walk. Three of us chose the short walk (1k) . We were warned of steps, but these were actually very gentle even for senior citizens with knee/hip issues. So glad we didn't miss it. A beautiful stroll through the forest. The long walk is about 3.5k and was pronounced to be less demanding than stories suggested. Give it a go. The breakfast was very nice, everything you could ask for. The view from the breakfast lookout is outstanding. Either do the tour or drive to the monument yourself.

        An interesting an informative tour.
An interesting an informative tour thanks Brook. We did quite a few history tours during our stay so inevitably there was some overlap but also new additions to the Norfolk story. I see it as a history jigsaw and each tour expanded on the picture, reinforced what we had learnt and provided new information and insights. I would recommend including this tour, they are all different.

This is a must for the food and location/setting. The battered trumpeter (red throat emperor) fish was so fresh. There were range of salads including green salad with tomato, cucumber, onion and beetroot; potato salad, rice salad (fried rice style), pasta salad and the local foods new to try: coconut bread sliced thinly (like a savoury coconut cake consistency), sweet potato mash spiced with cumin and perhaps cinamon (i think? Would love to know), and a steamed banana bread type of dish. This is BYO booze, but you can purchase drinks if you forget. Dessert was coconut pie! The weather was good so all seated outside overlooking the cliff (Orn da clif), and watched the sunset. Entertainment was by solo act, pitcairn island local with guitar (not my style of music personally, but added to ambience and suited age group of the audience). The Bounty Girls then performed their Tahitian traditional dances.

We drove ourselves to the venue having a car, which made the cost less as well. It had been very rainy, so a great sunset was non-existent. Set in a building that had open window areas, it protected one from the elements. The singer was very good, but way too loud to make conversation comfortable. The food was excellent and plentiful. The fish was fresh and lightly battered. I really liked the white sweet potato mash with coconut and the coconut cream pie for dessert. The dancers were from a local club that carries on the Tahitian tradition. It was a bit expensive for what one got, but it was fun.

When researching our holiday must do - the fish fry really didn't seem to grab our attention but after arriving on Norfolk it was clear that the fish fry was a must to really experience the culture of this historic island and its amazing traditions. Paying the extra to get the bus to pick you up was well worth it for us, who wanted a nice bottle of wine with the amazing food. If anyone went home hungry that is only at fault of their own. The fish batter was perfect, light and fluffy. The traditional dishes were explained by the talented muso who hosted the evening and the traditional dancers really just made the whole atmosphere.

We (party of four) booked this through Pine Tree Tours and were under no illusion that the meal would not warrant the $70 price tag. However, we agreed this would be offset by the advertised beautiful setting on the cliff top overlooking the sea while waiting the sunset. The weather on the day was perfect as were the previous days we had already spent on the island so when we arrived at the venue to find we were seated at a table in the middle of a shed, to say we were disappointed is an understatement and set the tone for the evening. The fish was nice and the entertainer did his utmost to lighten the mood of the evening and although others may not leave a review, we know from speaking to them that they shared our disappointment. I did personally write to Pine Tree Tours to express our view and alert them to the evening's shortcomings but have not had a response, hence my review on Trip Adviser. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Norfolk Island but will be will extra wary of booking on organised tours next time we go.

Thanks for taking the time to review our Island Fish Fry. Firstly, I would like to apologise that you have not received a reply to your email. I am chasing this up as I write this, as I have not received it. Secondly, I'm sorry that you were disappointed in the Fish Fry. Unfortunately we had some issues with our outdoor lighting during the week you were there, which unfortunately meant that we had to hold the Fish Fry under cover. I do apologise for this as it wasn't what you were expecting it to be. I do appreciate your feedback though, and will chase your email up so I can get back to you.

Went to the Fish Fry as part of a tour group. Entertainment was good, especially the young dancers and the live band. When it came time to collect our food there was a mass stampede to the buffet. We had to wait quite a long time before we could join the queue as we were not the youngest or strongest people there. It was almost 'survival of the fittest'! The food, once we had successfully collected our choice, was most delicious. Unfortunately, because of the large number of people attending, where we were seated did not have an outside view of the garden area or the sunset. From our experience the evening would have been much better and more enjoyable if there had been some attempt at crowd control. Overall, would recommend the Fish Fry as long as you are prepared to fight for your food!

A great night out of fantastic sunset, great fresh food and enjoyable entertainment. We had Pinetree Tours take us (for an additional fee) rather than drive ourselves so we could enjoy a couple of drinks. The fish was DELICIOUS and there was plenty of food. You could keep going back once everyone had been up once to the buffet. It's an excellent venue that provides cover if it rains (which it did a bit that night), but also lets you feel like you're in the open and can enjoy the magnificent sunset and grounds at On Da Cliff.

The food was delicious, especially the fried fish, which was moist on the inside with crispy batter on the outside. We were seated at long communal tables under cover, on an open deck, with a magnificent sunset as the backdrop. There was more than enough food for everyone and seconds were available to all.
We were entertained by the Bounty Beauties and the host, who sang, told local stories and explained some island curiosities.

This was a wonderful night. Seated at long tables undercover we had a great night watching the sun set behind the clouds. The food was delicious, the fish was lightly battered and tasty inside, plenty of salads, some local food to try and dessert was a yummy coconut pie. We were entertained by Trent who sang some great old time songs and told great stories and we also watched young dancer from The Bounty Beauties who were very talented. Highly recommend this tour.

For us this wasn't a must do, we had a voucher so we went along. The venue is huge, crowded with busloads of tourists attending. There is a large undercover area so good in all kinds of weather. We were entertained by a singer and a performance by the local dance group. We lined up for our meal after the initial rush (some folk mustn't have eaten for days...), the food was ordinary, drinks expensive, we would have been happier eating fish at a local restaurant. However others were delighted with their evening. Pinetree tours deserve credit for being very well organised and efficient with such a large number. Watching the sun set over the ocean was my highlight.

I was so disappointed with the fish fry which I had been looking to. The weather was very changeable so we were seated undercover in the big shed area. I had read that the tables were beautifully decorated but the only decoration was a small bunch of artificial flowers on each long table.
The salads were all the same typical ones you get at home such as tinned beetroot, potato salad, coleslaw, green salad etc with the addition of a banana dish and coconut bread. There was only one type of fish which was deep fried in batter. It was very tasty but a fish fry implies that the fish is the star of the meal and I had expected a variety of options.
Entertainment was a local man who sang and played guitar. He was the only good thing about the evening.

Thanks for your review. I'm really sorry you were disappointed in the Island Fish Fry. It is a shame you had to be under the covered area, however we have to make these decisions based on what we believe the weather will do. The salads always include a selection that we feel most people would like, and also what is available on the Island at the time, and we always have 3 local dishes on offer. Ana (Traditional Sweet Potato Mash), Pilhi (Savoury banana slice), and our traditional coconut bread which were on offer on the night. We also have the coconut pie for dessert. The fish that is on offer is down to what is able to be caught that morning. Sometimes that means it ends up only being one type of fish, prepared in the special recipe batter of our cook. This is mentioned in our tour blurb that says the fish will be 'fried fish'. The Baunti Byuuti's also dance for our guests on the evening along with our singing entertainment. Thanks again for taking the time to write a review, and I am really sorry that you were disappointed and didn't enjoy your evening. I hope you had a lovely time on Norfolk Island regardless.
