You will have an eagle-eyed view of the tiny crescent-shaped beach and the magnificent spread of ocean stretching to the far horizon. The beautifully set tables will delight you – it’s the most glamorous picnic you will ever attend! Scrumptiously fresh, local fish is prepared the local way and accompanied with a range of seasonal island dishes including those passed down from our Polynesian fore-mothers. This extends even to dessert. Our feast kicks off with entertainment, by a local singer and Tahitian-style dancers. The venue is subject to change if the weather becomes inclement

A Tourist Attraction
Unfortunately there was no sunset due to the weather. This obviously could not be helped and I have allowed for this in my judgment. What remained was a quite pleasant buffet of salads, maybe two local dishes, and some very nice battered fish. Dessert was also included. This was accompanied by a local singer guitarist and island dancers. This was, by necessity due to rain, held under a large pavilion style building. It was all over by 7.30, perhaps because some people went on to another tourist attraction at that time.

A request to clear off our own dishes was quite jarring considering the price.

Food on an island is always expensive but we certainly had better meals on Norfolk for significantly less money. The low key entertainment did not compensate for this.

Very pleasant evening
We did this on Saturday night. We were very surprised when we got there at 5pm after being picked up and were served the main meal immediately, it felt too early. The food was delicious, local fish with chips and a huge array of salads and bread, the coconut bread was amazing. There was a gluten free option available for the fish. We brought drinks at the cash bar. The location was lovely and we were able to watch the sunset. The singer with guitar was really good. We were then entertained by some island dancers. Dessert was also served but was one dish, no choices, but lovely. We had a very pleasant evening which wound up at 730pm. The biggest problem was eating so early, not sure why we couldn’t have had the entertainment first and then have the meal served. All in all a great night out.

Thank you 931Jack for taking the time to review. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your evening. As we are heading into winter it is dark by 6pm after the sunset at 5pm. We try to make the most of the natural daylight in autumn / winter before having to put our lighting on. Summer time we are blessed with a beautiful twilight and lots of natural light.

Well managed, nice staff and enjoyable evening
Apr 2021
We had a very nice experience on this tour with nice people, a singer and Tahitian dancers, there were 3 buses with around 50 people that was well managed. Missed the majority of the sunset due clouds but Anson Bay is a beautiful spot for sunsets.

Hi LynnB278, thank you for your feedback. As you appreciate living on a small island everything is a little more expensive food wise due to freight. We are very lucky that we have an abundance of fresh local fish caught in the waters you feasted on looked out and admired for the evening. We supply transfers out the the evening and back (those who worry about drink driving need not worry), Island dancers and a musical entertainer. Thank you

Sadly not so much of a feast
Jan 2021
The staff were all friendly and efficient, the entertainer/guitar player was absolutely fantastic and the girls doing the Polynesian dancing were lovely. Would have been 4 or 5 stars here. The let down was the so called 'feast'! It was basically just fish and chips with some salad. We were expecting an array of local fish, not just one type, for the $85. Also an incredibly early night - picked up at 5pm and back home by 7.30 - and not even an opportunity to watch the sunset out at Anson Bay. We don't like to review poorly but felt that it wasn't value for money due to the meal component. Perhaps a change of title is in order......

Hi Jenny H, thank you for your review and feedback. We have taken onboard the name change suggestion. Our traditional Norfolk way of cooking our lovely fresh fish (trumpeter and king fish) from the waters around our little island is with batter. Once cooked it is hard to point out the different fish. Our price includes the return transfers out and back to the dinner. We will pass on your praise to our entertainer and of course the lovely Polynesian dancers.

Dec 2020
It was an enjoyable time with the view and plenty of food. My only issue was it was quite hot and full sun so could not sit at a lot of the tables, it maybe should have been a bit later as was Christmas Eve I think they wanted to have an early night. All food service and would recommend

Tour by Baunti Tours (there are others).
We had good weather so our Fish Fry was held at Anson Bay reserve with a stunning view of the bay and sunset. A “fish fry” is battered fish and chips, complemented with local fresh bread and salad (and dessert).
The fish was local “trumpeter” (sweet lip) and was good.we were entertained by a guitar playing singer and had a demonstration of Polynesian dancing by 2 local girls.
We were returned to our accommodation at dusk

This was overpriced for what you got .It was basically fish and chips with a couple of cheap salads. We had a better and cheaper meal in town the night before.

Great Night Just A Bit Exy
Jan 2020
The fish fry was certainly one of the highlights of Norfolk Island. Well organised, fresh fish and deserts and sensational outlook on the cliff edge. The only reason I am not giving this five stars is that at $85.00 per person, this is a bit of a rip off. Someone is making a lot of money here for something that should be priced at around $50.00.
