A day on the Panama Canal
A really nice day out on the Canal. The guide, Ian, was very informative and it was good to see how the canal works in practice - certainly worth going if you get the chance. Also went to the visitor centre on another trip, that was also worthwhile.

If you are short on time, this tour covers the highlights of the city and the canal.
The trip is value for money covers extensively about the canal history and a bit of city history too. English speaking guides were good. Comfortable pic up and drop off AC shuttles.

Fun but long and no food for vegetarians
We did the full tour. For the most part it was very fun and worth the trip but it was very long for us as the canal ran into an issue so we ended up ending 2.5 hours later than expected. Your whole day will be gone if you do the full tour but you also get to see a lot more on the full tour. They don’t have much vegetarian options for people though. I would suggest bring your own snacks or food if you are vegetarian.

      Once in a lifetime experience.
IMAX video doesn't do this experience any justice. From the locks to the transfer of water, it's just memorable. The sights you see on the boat that are not visible from the shoreline are great.

      Highly recommend
I truly believe this was an adventure of a lifetime to say I traveled on a boat through the Panama Canal:). I loved this experience so much. The reviews from others are correct in that yes it’s a long day. However the experience is again so worth it. My husband and I met a van near our hotel where we drove 45 minutes-1 hour to the boat. I will say the only negative part was at that point there’s one person scanning your ticket and no lines so people were pushing and shoving to get their tickets scanned. Then two people put wrist bands on and you walked onboard. Definitely need an obvious checkin point with more than one scanner. The food for lunch (chicken, sausage, salad, rice) was very good. You could purchase beverages. Edwin the boats announcer was phenomenal! He gave so much history and knowledge in both Spanish and English flawlessly and was so great. It made the trip much more lively. Once completed the van took us back to the hotel— very easy. Time total was about 6.5 hours but again highly recommend!

      A must do!
What an amazing way to see this engineering wonder of the world!! It is a long day, but well worth it! I was well taken care of the entire day, as the staff are attentive, and our tour guide, Edwin, answered all questions knowledgeably. You will take tons of pictures. Once over, the bus trip back to Panama City goes very quickly. This is a must if you have a whole day available.

      Unique experience
It was a unique experience! The boat could use some improvement.. food was pretty basic and minimal and they run out of drinks which were not included anyway. We had to buy drinks from the boat next to us. Plan for a long day.

      A Day Well Spent
Fantastic, impressive and professional. Just take the tour, you will not regret it. Everything was perfect, the early morning meeting, boarding process, breakfast, educational narration, comfortable (A/C) interior seating, lunch and the comfortable bus ride back. Whole trip takes about 12 hours (10 on ship, 2 on return bus). Its good!!

      Not happy
Some friends went and some of us could not because of getting sick. But what upsets me is that they were not to put a charge on the credit card until day of trip. It was put on my friends credit card 2 days prior to the trip and then they would not give her a refund when we tried canceling that morning. The ones that went said they were not given any tickets when arriving to take tour. There was noone around, just told to get on boat. They liked the tour, but why was my friend charged before she was supposed to be? That's very sad that a company would take advantage of people like that. So when signing for these tours be very careful because we had to pay $150 for not going. 😪👿

Panama Canal-Full Transit. Highly recommended! Had a wonderful time. Excellent tour operator!
My husband and I took the tour on April 20, 2024. The night before the departure, the tour operator sent an email to let us know what time we would be picked up from our hotel. The driver arrived on time and the ride in the van to the ship was comfortable. When we got on the ship, we selected a table on the second deck that had a window. That is a perfect spot as the ship has airconditioned and we were not out in the hot sun. Once we were underway, we were called for breakfast based on the color of our wristbands. This prevented everyone from coming at one time. The same process was used for lunch and an afternoon snack. The food was very good! Water and soda were included also. The bathrooms were cleaned and stocked. The narrator did an excellent job of explaining all the magnificent sites along the way. The employees on the ship were very friendly also. I thoroughly enjoyed going through the locks. It was amazing! This was a bucket list adventure for me!! Once we got to Colon at the end of the cruise, buses were waiting for us and we boarded based on the color of our wristbands. The bus ride was comfortable. Once we arrived back to the port in Panama, our van driver was waiting and took us back to our hotel. It was a perfect day without rain! I highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to experience the Panama canal up close and personal.

Interesting but departure time was not scheduled well
The canal was interesting, the boat comfortable and the food was good. I give my reviews only 3 stars because the picked us up at 9:00 am and by 10:00 am we were already at the boat and we had to wait until noon to depart. We ended up waiting another 2 extra hours for a big ship to reach the locks so we could pass but that's not the tour's company fault. What was supposed to be a 6 hours tour ended up being a 10 1/2 house tour.

      Breathtaking is an understatement!
Highlight of my trip to Panama was traversing the canal on the Pacific Queen. We lucked out as it was a very busy day on the canal and our tour was full of boats going through the lock. Definitely a once in a lifetime experience. The boat crew was nice, drinks and lunch was also great. Tour might be a bit expensive but it’s definitely worth it.

This is a fantastic way to see the Panama Canal and understand the technology and logistics of getting massive ships from the Pacific to the Gulf of Mexico. If you really want to appreciate the Panama Canal, you need to see it from a boat. That said, there is a lot of time on the boat where not much is happening, and the boat doesn't offer much else to do. For a lot of people, they may get enough of an exposed to the Canal by taking an uber to the Miraflores Locks and watching boats from the observation deck.

They guide on the boat provide a lot of interesting information, but the PA system was not great and at times you had to strain to hear him.

The provided lunch was a bag lunch that was ok at best, and they kept making a point that we could not drink our own water and had to buy bottled water from them, which just seems cheap on their part.

So much of this is variable like the weather and the schedule for the day. We lucked out greatly. Beautiful weather. Hotel pickup was at 5AM and they came right on the dot. You get a breakfast of eggs and sausage with pineapple and yogurt. You also get a lunch of cold pasta salad. There were no lines to get through the canal for our tour so we actually got through miraflores by 8AM so they served lunch at 8AM. Awkward. Ideally we would’ve taken a to go box when we got off at Gamboa but they’re not set up for that. The boat was not too crowded. We got a spot right up front. For people doing the full transit, would recommend just sitting for the first half because the boat will clear out at gamboa and then you get all the railing space you want. Hotel drop off was also well coordinated. People that belong on the same bus together are given a color coded wristband. Only downside was when we got off at gamboa we had to wait 45 minutes because there was a railroad crossing that was closed. That was out of the tour company’s control. I recommend buying directly from the Panama Marine Adventures website.

Great way to experience the canals in person. Well organized. Good communication from the tour company prior to the tour. Pick-up was on time, and the tour's commentary was comprehensive and informative. Highly recommend it for those interested in learning more about the canal and getting a close-up of how it all works.

Wow! This is a must-do if you visit Panamá! We were in town for a week, and it was a highlight! You want to be able to say you experienced this, and Panama Marine Adventures does a fantastic job! The "guide" on our boat was outstanding, answering questions and giving us lots of information about the history of the canal and the area. You'll have lots of photo opportunities! And the lunch we had onboard was great too! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Extremely well organized in all respects and the bi-lingual guide with all you wanted to know spoke over the PA system so you could hear from anywhere on the boat. Un accented “Americanness” because he grew up in Miami! You could also speak with him 1-1 as he moved about the boat. . . Sit inside or outside.

The trip was well organized with wrist bands for groups when it came time for food so everyone did not rush the food tables at once. The Narrator gave a tremendous amount of information through out the trip. All the arrangements outside of the boat ride were well organized also, friendly staff and were there to help if needed. I would highly recommend this tour organization and the tour in general. One of the things you need to see. Get it off your bucket list.

The tour was excellent. The guide was excellent as well, giving the history of the canal and answering tons of questions. Our pick up and drop off were punctual and made it very easy. There were options to be outside or inside in AC. The lunch was very good and they offered water and drinks all day. I would highly recommend this tour.

I highly recommend this tour to really experience the marvel of the Panamá Canal up close and personal. For persons who are fascinated by the Panama Canal, this is the only way to see it properly. The top deck to the front of the boat is an open top area and great views of your entrance and exit to the canal.

The service was excellent throughout. The checkin process was smooth, mealtimes were coordinated orderly and the coach ride back was comfortable. We left from base on time and arrived back on time. 6 hours seems like a long time but it flys by so quickly, we actually wanted to stay onboard longer.

The staff was great. Our tour guide was so fun, the time flew by. He was also very knowledgeable and explained so much details and history about the canal. The kitchen staff was very pleasant and wasn’t shy with the food, it was great! I enjoyed every bite of it.

    I highly recommend this your

This is a very educational tour which we appreciated learning about the canal and seeing it first hand but it was entirely too crowed for us.
By the time we boarded the boat all the seat were taken and we stood in the back of the boat in the sun. It was standing room only at that point.
It became sweltering hot and very uncomfortable for us.
I would not do it again.

It was an interesting tour - bilingual Spanish/English - with lots of detailed information. We went through two of the locks and this was plenty to get the experience of going through the canal. Doing the full day tour would have been too long and would have gotten boring as the process is quite slow and is repetitive from lock to lock.
