The tour was also very fun scenic, in a very efficient manor thanks to his expertise would 100% do it again, highly recommend FRANCIS as your guide 🔥👍🏽Written September 13, 2024
- briansQ505SV0 contributionsGreat tour guide! Great views! Great crew!Francis was a great tour guide. He was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about both El Salvador’s history and the hike and volcano. The hike was about 1 hour and 45 minutes each way, with approximately 45 minutes at the top. The views were amazing throughout most of the hike, especially at the top, where locals were selling frozen treats for about $1.50. On the way down, it rained for about an hour, and we were all soaked. While it wasn’t too comfortable in the moment, it made the journey much more memorable. We felt more in touch with our surroundings, and hey, you can’t escape Mother Nature—plus, it’s just water. At the base of the volcano, we took a democratic approach to decide whether or not we would go to lunch. The majority ruled, so we went and continued our amazing tour with our fantastic crew (Team Pupusa). Lunch was right on Lake Coatepeque, and the views, food, and good times kept coming. Francis picked us up at 6 a.m. and dropped us off around 6:30 p.m. I would definitely recommend this tour. Also, don’t let the rain stop you—Francis mentioned that in his 10 years as a tour guide, this was only the second time he had been caught in the rain. We consider ourselves lucky. Haha.Written September 11, 2024

- darsmille0 contributionsTough for a Beginner but Worth ItI don't know why I chose this to be my very first hike ever, but it was totally worth it! I started the tour by being picked up at my hotel in the city. I booked the tour alone but was put into a group of other people. We finished pick-ups and stopped for breakfast and snacks on the way to the Santa Ana Volcano. Josue, our tour guide, was incredibly friendly and approachable. He made sure everyone felt comfortable and included and was always ready to answer questions. His warm and welcoming demeanor made the entire group feel like a big family, and his sense of humor added a delightful touch to the journey. The climb up the volcano was a challenge for me. Even though the tour company described in detail what to bring and what to expect, I did not expect such an adventure. It was my first hike, and I had a few difficulties (mainly an upset stomach). Josue and other people in my group and along the trail were very encouraging and even managed to provide something that helped a lot with my stomach. The view at the top was well worth the climb. It is beautiful! There is someone selling delicious looking ice cream at the top, but I didn't try because of my stomach issues. We had plenty of time to enjoy the view and take plenty of photos before heading down. After leaving Santa Ana, we were taken to a restaurant overlooking Lake Coatepeque. We were given the opportunity to swim or participate in water activities, but I was too tired from the hike and just wanted to relax and enjoy the scenery. The food was delicious, and the view was amazing! After everyone was finished eating, we were safely dropped off at our hotels. I recommend this tour, even for a beginner, and would do it again.Written September 9, 2024
- rosiew8590 contributionsWhat an experience! What an adventure this day trip to Antigua Guatemala was. Our tour guide was Gaby. What an amazing, smart, knowledgeable, skillful and trustworthy person she is. These day trip was full of obstacles. On our way there the road to Antigua was closed/blocked due to protesters. But Gaby found a way around it. Once in Antigua she took us to an amazing restaurant Cafe Condesa, the food was delicious. Then we did a very informative and interesting tour of the city, which we loved! On our way back to El Salvador the roads were still closed/blocked due to the same protesters, but Gaby used her people skills to interact with the locals and found a way around the blocked roads. We also encountered a few car accidents along the way but we were able to go around it all… Gaby kept us informed of everything that’s was going on, she explained the alternate routes she was taking. Driving to the alternate roads gave us an insight at a day to day life of the Guatemalan people. NOT once did we feel unsafe or uneasy; Even though it was a long ride, Gaby made the ride interesting and fun by teaching us about local customs and traditions of the Salvadoran people. This has been one of the best adventures we have had. Thank you Gaby!!! Highly recommend this company for any tours.Written September 7, 2024
- rosiew8590 contributionsUnique experienceIt was a long day trip, but so worth it. Our tour guide was Josue. He is super nice and speaks great English. He educated us on the history of El Salvador and answered all of our questions. He made the process of crossing the borders super easy and smooth. Copan is a very unique Mayan site, that has super detail hieroglyphics depicting the history of Copan and its rulers. It is different from other Mayans sites that we have visited in other countries. I highly recommend it.Written September 3, 2024

- luckyguante0 contributionsFrancis is THE tour guide for El Salvador! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Francis is THE tour guide to have when going to El Salvador! He was able to entertain us the entire way with interesting facts about the country and the volcano. He was also very considerate but encouraging to my mom who was nervous to do the entire hike up the volcano as she is 64! I would highly recommend him to anyone who visits El Salvador and would like to have a stress free adventure!Written August 31, 2024
- stM5095ZD0 contributionsLoved, lovedI loved, loved my tour with Josué. Josué is very knowledgeable and has such a great personality. As we embarked on the journey to Rita de las Flores. I enjoyed my time at Concepcion de Ataco and its small town feel. My time in Nahuizalco was special as I learned about the country’s history. This was my first time at a hotspring and Termales de Santa Teresa, there are so many pools to choose from. My favorite part of the tour was the coffee tour at El Carmen Estate and the lunch selection. I was able to try traditional Salvadoran foods. All in all I am happy I went with this tour group and would not only recommend them but I would use them again for other tours.Written August 30, 2024
- cambi0u0 contributionsFun, relaxing and beautiful.Incredible tour. Our guide was super warm and welcoming, offered educational information about their country and was passionate about sharing a memorable experience. The trip was well thought out and left us with sweet experiences in El Salvador. Gracias Josué!!Written August 25, 2024
- JoseTalavera160 contributionsMust do tour in El Salvador! This excursion was so much fun! The 2 hour hike up and 90 min hike down is so varied between jungle / rocky. I recommend renting the hiking sticks for $0.50 at the start. Josue was welcoming, knowledgeable and friendly. He made sure no one felt left behind. Some things to note: - Traffic can get a little crazy so anticipate being in the van for at least 3-4 hours - There’s no swimming on this tour! You get excellent views and it’s so worth it. Just some people in our group thought there was swimming.Written August 24, 2024
- H5671VAchelsear0 contributionsTerrible experience with "El Salvador Positive Tours"— abandoned us, unprofessional, and refused a refund. Our experience with "El Salvador Positive Tours" on August 12th was an absolute disappointment. 5 of us booked the Santa Ana Tour 2 weeks before our scheduled date where we sent all details needed to proceed with the tour. The night before, the company reached out to reconfirm the pickup location and confirmed. The morning of, Francis (our "tour guide") sent a message asking for the address AGAIN which we resent with even more instructions. 8 minutes before our agreed pickup time at 5:30am he sent another message stating he couldn't find the location due to 'his GPS not working/ was confused'. (Despite there being 5 of us standing outside with a marked house and no cars in sight). We attempted to contact him and he ignored our calls, picked up once, was rude and uncooperative, and then proceeded to hang up on us. He then sent voice notes stating we "lost our tour" after the attempted back and forth, even though he was the one that could not find our location. (Every other driver we hired had zero issues in finding our location). This level of incompetence and disregard for customers is beyond unacceptable for a tour company that operates on Trip Advisor. Left with no other option, we had to hire a private driver and guide at our own expense (Which I HIGHLY recommend). To make matters worse, we later spotted the guide leading another group at the Santa Ana Volcano. We completed the volcano hike without him and finished before him despite starting the hike 3 hours later. The tour company has refused to refund us and attempted to remedy the situation by offering the tour the next day + requested $75 USD on top of what we had already paid for the tour that was abandoned because we "wasted their time, money and gas." This company is highly unprofessional and should take responsibility for their actions. Would not recommend booking.Written August 20, 2024
- courtneybL3698NE0 contributionsAin’t Nothing To It, But To Book it!!!If you come to San Salvador and don’t do this tour, you’re crazy!! Even though the hike is a little bit of a challenge (please wear shoes with a good grip), the views and being one with nature is simply breath taking! It was totally worth it. My tour guide Gabby was even more amazing. She gave us the rich history of El Salvador and answered a lot of questions. She was also very patience and ensured we were all ok and took breaks when needed. Originally, I was going to do this tour solo, but I’m so glad I booked this instead. I even got a chance to meet some other cool tourists who lived close to the area I’m staying in. Once you get to the top, you feel accomplished and the popsicles are totally worth all the calories you burned! Don’t think twice! Book it and get ready for this beautiful adventure!Written August 19, 2024
