        Great tour of charming towns
Great experience. This is my first time in El Salvador after 40 years. Our guide, Herbert was wonderful. He was very knowledgeable in El Salvador history and I learned so much about my Salvadoran roots. Each town we visited had it’s own charm and Herbert was so patient and accommodating as we explored and shopped. This is a great tour if you wan to learn more about El Salvador.

        Awesome Tour Company!
The Flowers Route tour with Rafael was awesome! He's a super knowledgeable guide and you can really tell he loves his country! Super friendly and he took us to some of the coolest spots in El Salvador. The hot springs and bike zipline were my favorite parts. The pickup and drop off were seamless and I learned so much about the country. I also did the Izalco Hike with Osmaro. He was such a patient and kind tour guide who was also very informative about the hike. The hike was extremely difficult and he was so patient with me throughout the whole hike. I got stung by some bees and had some difficulty with the climb and he was super friendly and caring about it the whole time. I definitely recommend this company for all of your tours in El Salvador, they're really so awesome!

THE BEST INCLUSIVE COMPANY WITHOUT TIME RESTRICTION.
Petate is a family own company, I would not have enough space to say how well they treated my husband and me, passionate about their work, with a wide knowledge of their culture, very polite, respectful and very inclusive, they taught us the whole country without time restriction, their vehicles are very clean and new. We took almost all the tours and they always arrived on time and they made suggestions to us, Mr. Rafael and his son Osmaro are very nice and very well educated people, they are always willing to listen to us and make us have a very nice vacation, we had one of the most beautiful vacations thanks to this company, I highly recommend them to all those people who come to El Salvador for the first time, they will not regret it. Atte. Hugo & Samuel.

        Positive experiences every time!
This is our second visit to El Salvador and both times have used this service. Our tour guide Osmaro is extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and accommodating. This trip, he took us around for three separate days and we were able to experience something different that El Salvador has to offer, so each day was a new excursion. He is fluent is both Spanish and English and goes very much into depth when providing you with information and history of the sites you are visiting, also a great cameraman to help capture all the amazing sites.

Long airport layover with family of 6
We went with our family of 6 for a tour at Tunco beach while we had an 8 hour layover here. Our teens especially loved this area! Our guide was so patient with us. Our flight was late arriving and it took some time getting through customs(we had to pay airline taxes $17 pp plus our $12 visa for the adults) and we ended up starting our tour an hour later due to this but our guide was great. He had a sign with our name as soon as we left the airport so easy to find. The beach here isn't really for swimming but you can rent a board and surf. We just spent our time walking around and having drinks and eating ice cream. The vibe of the area reminds me of something like Myrtle Beach. We were there in early evening which was super fun but for families with younger kids I wouldn't think the nightlife later in the night would be your scene. Without kids it looked like the night life was awesome! Super relaxed and everyone is extremely friendly and proud of the country. We felt totally safe the whole time and look forward to visiting again. El Salvador is a hidden gem! SO glad we didn't stay in the airport!

History and rainbow slide fun in the same day.
Beginning with a powerful tour in the historical district of San Salvador, we witnessed a wall of all the casualties of the civil war that ravaged the country for over a decade. That decade ended just over 30 years ago. After that powerful experience, we strolled through the center to see the beautiful government buildings and the Iglesia del Rosario. Next, we drove to breathtaking views at the Boqueron national park. The experiences also afforded us a short walk to stretch our legs. Finally, we concluded our day at the infamous rainbow slide.

An introduction to El Salvador’s culture
On the long and thorough excursion through El Salvador’s gems, you really get value for both your time and dollar. Seeing several of the small towns in the Ruta de Las Flores provides insight into the way of life in small town/rural El Salvador. My favorite experience may have been the stop at the coffee plantation, as the tour guide illustrates the process of coffee production from bean to bag to your morning cup. While the hot springs portion is a pleasant end to the day, I felt like I obtained more of a Salvadorian feel from the earlier parts.

Great tour! Very knowledgeable guy. All of the sites he took us to had a lot of historical information. If you come based of Tiktok, Rafael will teach you a lot of the culture. We had an amazing time. Definitely 10/10! Every location was beautiful and was exciting to see with plenty to do. Will be coming back soon with more of the family 😍

Contacted Eco Tours Petate at the airport asking if a tour was available and they were quick to respond that a tour was available. Was given clear directions on how exactly to go through customs/immigration for a stopover. Guide was informative and charismatic. I felt like we got to see a lot of the city in a short amount of time. Also went to el Boquerón which was fantastic, ate lunch and did the slide at Picnic. The ride back to the airport was very smooth and I got back through security and immigration within five minutes! 10/10 recommend if you have a long layover in San Salvador!

Loved this tour. The volcano was an easy trek and we got great photos. Downtown San Salvador was great to see. Glad we had someone with us to share it. We also tried papusas the first time with Ricardo and it was incredible. Ricardo was a great tour guide and very kind to us. We left some things in his car and he returned it to us. He also gave us great suggestions in the area. Thankful for such a kind and knowledgeable tour guide. Thanks again Ricardo!

My husband and I had about eight hours to spend in San Salvador, and wanted to make sure we saw the crater and spent some time in the city before catching our next flight. We had an awesome time with Rafael - he was warm and educational and took us to the crater, the botanic gardens, an authentic San Salvadorian lunch (at our request), and gave us an amazing tour of Old Town. We spent time walking through markets, looking at historic sites, and (even better) meeting some local artists that were working on an art installation or sharing their craft with others.

Rafael clearly loves where he is from and made our short stay in San Salvador more enjoyable. Because of him, we now know of several locations we may want to visit in the future! I'd highly recommend taking a tour with him. :)

My family and I really enjoyed this layover tour of San Salvador with Osmaro. After we landed, we were guided through customs and met with Osmaro, who was our driver and tour guide. He took us to see the volcanic crater, the downtown, and best of all to eat pupusas! It was a private tour so we were able to take as long as we wanted in each location. He timed it so that we made the most of our layover and got to see a lot of the city. He was very professional and knowledgeable and gave us a lot of historical information. I highly recommend taking this tour with Osmaro if you ever have a stopover in San Salvador.

The best option to enjoy some hours in San Salvador while visiting fascinating places and listening to the interesting stories of your guide. Astonishing views from San Salvador Volcano.
Osmaro was the best guide possible and made the visit something really worthy.
      Thanks a lot again!

I’ve always wanted to visit El Salvador and I finally go the chance on a long layover I had. I was traveling with my girlfriend who very worried about safety in Central America. She felt safe throughout the whole tour. We booked the tour the day before and sent our info to the company, they where able to expedite the immigration and customs process and left the airport within 10min! Our tour guide picked us up at the airport gates and took us to an amazing volcano. While on route to the volcano he gave us a brief yet detailed history of the whole country! After our trip to the volcano we made our way to the historical center and got to see some cool architecture and local culture. I will definitely come back to El Salvador and do a longer tour with this company.
