- 1A perfect way to discover the hidden secrets of Belgrade fortress and it's long and vivid history is to explore it's underground. First of them is Roman well, built in 18th century, which represents heritage from Austrian time. Many mysteries are connected to this place, and interesting fact is that it was Alfred Hitchcock's favorite spot in Belgrade. The tour continues to Army bunker - from the time of the Cold War after the World War 2, where you will learn about some of the President Tito's political games between great countries. The third stop is Gunpowder warehouse - where you will have the chance to touch the walls of the cave which Austrians built as the part of the fortress which served as the defense of Christian Europe against Turkish Empire. This warehouse is also an exhibition place where you will see sarcophaguses and altars collected from different archeological sites on Serbian territory. The tour ends with glass of local wine on the Sava river bank.

About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- 403julg0 contributionsVery beautiful tour.Milan was a very knowledgable guide and the destinations were all beautiful. The Restaurant at the waterfall was very good and the Village was giving a fairytale vibe. Would definitely recommend.Written October 30, 2024
- In_Search_Of_Cake0 contributionsLovely unhurried intro to beautiful BelgradeOur first time to Serbia, here to visit family and we only have 2 full days. This cruise was a lovely intro to a very beautiful city steeped in history. From booking to meeting Jelena our guide outside the elementary school comms was perfect, I got a message on my WhatsApp informing a time change because this was a sunset cruise and the sunset was earlier on our day. Jelena knew her history, her English better than mine and I’m English and she explained everything so nicely. Beautiful views of the Sava and the Danube just made this a perfect 90 mins. It’s October so wrap up warm, the weather has been warm here but it was cold on the water and I was glad I had my coat and beanie! Where you dock there’s a plethora of restaurants to chose from and we had a fabulous meal for another review. My only feedback is they need advance communications for those who find walking difficult, from the meeting point to the dock there is a walk down a120 steps and if you couldn’t do that you could get a taxi to the boat point, however if walking is difficult getting on and off the boat is something you need to consider. Love the cruise, beautiful scenery, fabulous guide worth every penny.Written October 12, 2024

- 582rachelh0 contributionsDay trip to Eastern SerbianVery passionate, patriotic and informative guide. I liked the fact there was flexibility between the stops and we were not in a rush. The group were really nice and I made friends. The trout fish dish and Serbian local wine was the highlight at the restaurant when stopping at the waterfall. Tip: bring snacks and plenty of water, and a light jacket for the caveWritten August 18, 2024
- Wanderer3626130 contributionsMy best trip in SerbiaWe had a great, interested and testy tome with our guide Milan, who walked us through the history, beautiful nature and local cuisine. Comfort driving and polite communication, that was like meet your good friend. The cave is impressive and cold. It was +38 deg outside and +10 deg inside the cave, so we refreshed very well :) Thank you all to make this trip true. Thanks to Milan to represent country in such an interested and gentle way.Written August 17, 2024
- LinLin_Amami0 contributionsVery good experienceThe driver was very fluent in English and knowledgeable. It was a very hot day but he tried his best to let us wait in the shad while he went to pick up the car in the sun. He found us seats in the train and told us to walk around all cars since each car was different. Did not see many people walking around so I guess a lot of people may did not know about it. After the train ride, we went to a nice restaurant and had some tasty roasted lamb.Written August 17, 2024
- 730miland0 contributionsDanube and Sava sunsetMy cousins loved the river tour, totaly cool option to see the city from other perspective. Pick the sunset option for full experience.Written August 16, 2024
- E5970SAyvonnem0 contributionsBeautiful Belgrade! A Riverview ReflectionA pleasant cruise on the Sava and Danube with some great photo opportunities. The tour guide was very informative and it was great to meet people from around the world. A bit of a hike uphill with stairs to return to the starting point, but worth the exercise. If a drink had been included with the cruise it would have made it more five star.Written August 13, 2024

We are an older couple, 70's, who selected this tour. In all honesty, if you read the description, you will see that the stops do not sound particularly impressive. They were not. The guide did a good job of talking about the history and cute stories about the places but there are better places to spend your time. At the start of the tour, he told the group that we would have to walk down a ramp but there were hand rails. The ramp was old, marbelized, slippery rocks that had other, younger members of the group grasping on to the handrail just as desperatey as we did. There were other steps on the tour which required a certain amount of fitness but this ramp was not a good idea for older adults. We would not recommend this tour. We did not finish the tour so we did not see the surprise at the end or have the wine. This still would not change my suggestion that older adults think very carefully before booking this tour.

Fantastic tour of the Belgrade fortress and various underground locations.
Bojan our tour guide was well informed and engaging.
The tour ended at an Italian restaurant where we enjoyed a glass of the local wine. Often these places are tourist traps so we were pleasantly surprised to be taken somewhere where the food was of a very high standard in a picturesque location with no pressure to purchase anything in addition to the free glass of wine. Would highly recommend!

The tour guide was very enthusiastic and told us a lot about the history of the city. She also added some thoughts from the people about the history, which I liked because it created some more perspective.
The Roman well was interesting, but we really loved the bunker the most. This place you can only visit with a tour guide, which added some uniqueness to the tour.

Bojan was a very good and honest guy during the entire tour. He took us through the Kalemegdan Park and in the underground beneath the fortress and captivated us with stories and the complex history of Belgrade. We ended the tour at a very nice restaurant (Communale) with very delicious Italian food. We recommend the tour!

Exploring the Belgrade Fortress along the river was exciting. Guided by a friendly guide, we toured historic passageways and secret chambers, and then finished the experience with a glass of wine. An unforgettable visit that combined history and pleasure.

The tour was a nice way to spend the afternoon! Our guide shared a lot of great history, gave us time for taking pictures and showed us the underground tunnels. Like another reviewer mentioned, the tour is only briefly underground. The underground part was nice because we visited on a warm day and the tunnels were cool. The only thing that surprised me was the wine at the end. It was a lovely way to end the tour, but I had assumed we would be trying Serbian wine. But the restaurant at the end was an Italian one. It was a very nice place and the wine was very good.

The underground was a fun experience, well worth it. I enjoyed entering the old artillery bunkers and hearing the stories of the underground well. Our guide Darko was very knowledgeable and helped make the tour come to life.

Nice tour that gives you a lot of history an out Belgrade/Serbia. Our guide Darko told us a lot of fun facts and figures :)
Just don’t expect an actual underground maze of tunnels and hallways, in which you spend 2hours without seeing the light of day. You ll be above ground too ;)
