Only one hour from Bucharest, Bulgaria is waiting to be revealed. The medieval fortress of Tsarevets in Veliko Tarnovo included in the UNESCO heritage with the cobbled streets and a unique view. The Dryanovo Monastery is a step back in time; if Orthodoxy, it's an unknown religion for you, here you can feel the spirit of ancient times. The highlight of the day is the Bacho Kiro Cave. The cave is a labyrinth of galleries and corridors where you feel like a fairy-tale underground world. With an approximate age of 46,000 years, human fossils found here are the oldest known in Europe. The entire area with the canyons of the Andaka and Dryanovo River it's one of the unspoiled nature corners of Europe.

          7 days through beautiful Romania
I was delighted to find Rolandia, when we only had one month before our trip. Plane tickets were bought, our friends from England were very excited to discover Romania... just that the company we had been dealing for a few good months, was not coming up with clear plans. That was the point I knew I had to take another turn. And here it comes Rolandia, after an intense search of a few hours on the internet and a few calls. What a delight! With the help of a tenacious Nicu and a very kind and prompt Adelina, in two days, we've already had the itinerary established. From this point, everything started unfolding rapidly: establishing places we would have stayed, choosing the type of rooms, making the reservations not only for the hotels, but also for the tourist attractions. Adelina was on top of the things, turning every single stone to ensure everything will be OK. And it wasn't just good, it was impeccable. We've had no issue, no worries, we've left ourselves immersed within the beautiful colours of autumn, driven by the curiosity of discovering more of Romania each day. The accommodations were different, each of them coming with something new and leaving pleasant impressions on us. For us - Romanians who have left Romania many years back, it was a re-discovery of the beauty and authenticity of our country. For our friends, a tour through a country full of history, citadels, castles, myths, beautiful people, fascinating traditions, strong tuica/horinca/palinca and incredibly good wine. Mihai has been the best guide and driver we could have got. He is a very skilful driver, calm and confident. Incredible with our children (one 13 and two 16 years old), a great company, moulding within the group easily, accommodating everyone's needs, caring for each of us, seeking options when needed and giving us alternative for great places to eat authentical Romanian food. 7 days of adventure thanks to Rolandia. Nicu and Adelina are reliable, prompt, knowledgeable, accommodating. If you have something in mind and you would like to have a trip tailored the way you want, I highly recommend getting in touch with them. Not only that they designed our itinerary, but we have also got the best advice. Thank you Rolandia!

Fantastic trip Bears,Bran and Braşov with an excellent guide!
Had a fantastic trip on the Bran Castle, bears and Braşov tour! Our guide Claudia was outstanding and really made the trip special for us, we learnt all about România itself as well as the history behind all the places we visited. It’s a long day but really worth it, and the scenery in Transylvania is stunning especially at this time of year, in Autumn. The communication with Rolandia beforehand was really good and we knew exactly when and where we would be picked up. Claudia looked after us all day, and took us to a really lovely sandwich shop in Braşov which was amazing although we could have had a sit down meal if we’d preferred it, which she could also arrange. Don’t hesitate to book this trip and if you are really lucky you will get Claudia as your guide!

Great Tour and Experience in Romania
We did a Private Tour of Romania over 12 days with our amazing guide George. George had a wealth of knowledge about Romania - its history, its people and its culture as well as many other topics which came up along the way on our travels. No question was too difficult for George. We thoroughly enjoyed our travels through Romania and loved how the different cities, towns and villages all had their special charm and often intrigue. The Romanian countryside is very beautiful and the Carpathians are truly captivating with their high mountains, amazing winding roads and breathtaking gorges. It is also amazing to see the impact over many centuries of different invading groups and cultures and how this has can still be seen in Romania with the varying architecture, homes and buildings, particularly in some of the rural areas such as the Maramures Region and the Bucovina area. None of this would have been possible without George. George was a very careful and professional driver and had a very warm and friendly nature. He was also very accommodating if we wanted to vary some parts of the trip. The accommodation for the entirety of our trip was excellent and always in the cities and towns was within close walking distance to the Old Town. We would highly recommend organising a tour with Rolandia - they were very professional with the whole organising from initial contact to departure time. They use excellent vehicles for these tours. We have travelled through many countries in Europe and think that our tour of Romania was right up there - a fascinating and beautiful country with an equally fascinating history

          Traveling Romania with Emil
This was a dream trip of mine, and I was not disappointed! I escaped from my teaching duties to travel throughout Romania as the passenger princess of the endlessly amazing Emil! I was a bit nervous as this is my first solo trip in a country I don’t speak the language, but Emil took phenomenal care of me. Not only did he drive carefully on the road, but he remained calm during situations in which I would have been a ball of stress. He was patient as I failed miserably at learning some Romanian and asked him various questions. His knowledge seemed so endless that I don’t think he ever answered me with “I’m not sure”—even when I asked him about the species of trees in the area! He also took amazing pictures when I was too shy/embarrassed to ask. He had excellent restaurant and dish recommendations. He taught me so much about the culture and history of Romania that I fell even further in love with the country. He was extremely kind and took very good care of his weird little American client—despite her habit of escaping up stairs without ropes across them. Thanks so much, Emil! The tour company was kind and helpful as I originally signed up for a group tour—but no one else joined. They were kind enough to organize a private tour for me as these were the dates of my Fall Break from school. I came for castles and mountains and that was exactly what I got! Emil worked his magic to open doors and got us into all the castles and citadels and churches. He then explained the history and legends of the location as we walked around. It was truly an amazing experience and I couldn’t pick a favorite spot if I tried! Thanks so much!

          Highly recommended tour of Transylvania!
I managed to book this tour last minute and I couldn't be happier. The sites the we visited were great, but what made the tour even better was our fantastic guide that was friendly, full of knowledge, but also brought interesting perspectives to the "boring" historical facts. Highly recommended!

          Romania at its finest!
We did a modified version of this tour that was customized to our tastes. The Romanian countryside was spectacular, especially the drive along the Transfăgărășan Highway into Transylvania from Bucharest. We saw Poenari Castle along the way and, of course, a couple of bears. For each place we stayed, we added a rest day, so we were free to roam around city squares at our leisure in Sibiu, Sighișoara, and Brașov. Our tour guide, Laurentiu Muscalu, was PHENOMENAL! His English is excellent, and his knowledge of every area we visitied with him was extraordinary. He was our guide for the entire trip, taking us from Bucharest, through winding roads to Sibiu, and then on to Sighișoara and Brașov. He has a warm, friendly personality, is a very good driver, and can be quite fun and entertaining. I could not have asked for a better guide to see this amazing country. My wife has wanted to visit Transylvania since she was a child. We did a lot of research on the culture, traditions, and history of Romania prior to our visit, so our expectations were high. This trip greatly exceeded those expectations. I highly recommend Romania, the destinations on this trip, and of course our guide Laurentiu. Thank you for a very memorable and fun-filled adventure!

          Book Vlad - seriously!
We had 2 private, half-day tours with Vlad Chiciudean in Bucharest - the city under Ceausescu and the history of Bucharest's Jews. Vlad is smart, funny, super knowledgeable and not only prepared to answer every single question you might have but also to share personal stories that put a human face to the facts. We like experiences that are off the beaten tourist track and Vlad took us to places that I'm pretty sure few visitors have seen. The marble floors, extracted from limestone taken from the Apuseni Mountains, of a subway station, that featured prehistoric fossils. We're still talking about what we learned. If Vlad lived in our town, I'd invite him to dinner!

          Glorious escape to Transylvania
This was a fantastic way to discover the beauty and myths of Transylvania. It turned out that there was just the two of us and so we had a very personalised tour with Anne in a comfortable car. She was outstanding in the way she answered all our questions and adjusted the itinerary to suit our needs. The accommodation at Magura was magical, with glorious views across the valley to the Carpathian Mountains. We couldn't have wished for a better tour. Highly recommended.

          Fantastic Transylvania
We just wanted to say we enjoyed the Transylvania tour very much. Catalin was an excellent guide, very knowledgeable and informative. He was a very safe driver and we were extremely well looked after. So much facinating history, fabulous castles and citadels, and interesting towns. The hotel accommodation each night was very comfortable. Catalin was very flexible in our need for coffee and adaptable to spending more time on specific interesting visits such as Hermann Oberth's museum. Our only regret was that we would have liked a second night in Sibiu so that we could have spent more time exploring the town after the conducted tour with Catalin .  That wauld also have allowed more time on the last day to spend time  on the trip through the mountains.

Outstanding Tour of the Castles of Transylvania
This was an excellent 4-day tour by private vehicle of the castles of Transylvania. We saw and walked through about a dozen medieval castles and fortified churches, and saw an extensive amount of the Transylvanian countryside as well as notable cities. Our guide was excellent and highly knowledgeable on the subject matter of this tour. If you are fascinated by castles and the lore of Dracula, this is the tour for you!

          Excellent private tour of Romania
Rolândia assisted with designing a private customized 10 day tour of Romania. Adelina at their office was very helpful and attentive to our needs. Our guide/driver Emil Barbulescu was excellent. Very informative and provided us with an excellent insight into the culture and history of Romania. He was very patient and always made sure we were satisfied with the visits we did.

Alba Julia is full of history
Thanks to our guide Istvan who was very talkative and knowledgeable on the political happenings of Romania and Transylvania. Out of the tour of Turda Salt Mines, Alba Julia and Corvin Castle, we really enjoyed the stop in Alba Julia because of its rich history. Istvan was very flexible with the organisation and also suggested nice places to eat.
