Bucarest à vélo

By Bike in time
About

    3 days of joy
It was a perfect 3 days bicycle tour and a summary would sound like this: field flowers, stars & crickets, forest and rivers, good food, nice acommodation. We cycled in beautiful, incredibly diverse landscapes with a really nice group. I felt secure and I had a great time. It was the best experience I had this year.

    Fabulous tour / brilliant guide
Fabulous tour, Jon is a great guide, very friendly, knowledgable/insightful about Bucharest/Romania, clever route took in all of the interesting places in the city. He carefully curates the route to see everything important but also to maximise shade as it gets hot in Bucharest in the summer. Bikes are high quality. Jon was very flexible, stopping for photos and a coffee, so we actually overran (our choice) by an hour! and he even gave us a lift back into our hotel afterwards. You get a funky set of photos/route map at the end. Outstanding. Strongly recommend.

    Highly Recommend!
This was a small-group ride around Bucharest, which has excellent cycling infrastructure and dedicated bike paths, about 19km total, all flat. Our guide Ionut was excellent and very knowledgeable. We saw many sites, biked through a big, beautiful park around a lake, and explored both the Victorei area and Old Town. Awesome way to get a taste of the city.

    Excellent Day Trip--Highly Recommend!
This was a small-group ride in the wine country outside of Bucharest, and it was wonderful! Part paved, part gravel road. About 20km in total, mostly flat. We had two wonderful vineyard stops. Both were VERY generous with the tastings and provided more than enough snacks, to include local cheese and charcuterie. It was a really awesome day! Highly recommend. The guide/owner Ionut was excellent and super nice, as was his wife who provided the van support.

An extraordinary bike and travel experience
We had an exceptional bike trip of 7 days with the Bike in time team. The bikes were top notch quality, and Ionut was a generous, engaging and very knowledgeable guide. We started our tour with a half day city tour where Ionut guided us to all the major sights and we learned so much of the history, politics and architecture of Bucharest. Our next stop was to the Dealu Mare vineyards area just outside of Bucharest which was such a beautiful spot - again biking through the countryside and finishing our day with an excellent wine tasting and dinner at a family run wine estate. From there we visited and biked 40-80 km per day throughout areas of Brasov, Talisoara and the wonderful Daniel castle, Viscri and Cartisoara. Each place we stayed was unique with warm welcomes from our hosts and delicious local cuisine. Our final day of cycling crossing the Carpathians mountains on the Transfagarasan route was an experience of a lifetime. The ascent to the top was spectacular and a challenge even on an e-bike. Then we crossed through the tunnel to descend towards the Vidaru dam on the other side. Spotted many bears, saw incredible waterfalls, passed through snow along the route - truly an exceptional experience. I would highly recommend Bike in time to anyone interested in exploring the natural and cultural beauty of Romania.

Wonderful evening cycling tour through Bucharest with Ionut
Ionut picked us up at the Bucharest railway station, and with him he had three bikes carefully prepared for our evening tour through Bucharest. As Ionut knows all the save ways through town, we thoroughly enjoyed the ride with his unique insights and explanations! Though from the word go we liked Bucharest! Ionut really opened a new cycling world to us and we will surely return not only to cycle through Bucharest but beyond through this huge and beautiful country with lots of nature! We whole heartedly recommend Ionut’s services to all who love to ride a bicycle and know what a perfect way it is to discover a new place in this world! Katharina and Ella, Switzerland

    Touring Transylvania
We explored Transylvania by car and Ionut was our guide and driver. We toured the main castles and the countryside and we had a fantastic time Ionut is very knowledgeable on the history and he knows many interesting spots outside the typical tourist areas. Very friendly and easy to spend 4 days with non stop. I would highly recommend touring with him. I can’t comment on bicycle tours since we did not do that, but it was clear to us that he is very passionate about cycling

    WOW.....what a spectacular trip!
Although I wasn't able to bike, lonut provided an excellent tour of the Maramures countryside. From the beautiful wooden churches to the dinners with local families (including entertainment!) the trip was fascinating. We continued with a tour or Corvin Castle and Sibiu. Romania is a fascinating country...one which I highly recommend. A side note....I did get vertigo (first time for everything) while traveling over the mountains....I asked lonut to please pull over. It took a while to get over it and not only did lonut patiently wait, he actually walked to the nearest pharmacy for some medication. hopefully one day I'll return and be able t bike a tour...or two.

    Fantastic experience.
Many years ago, in 1976, I was biking from Iași to Bucharest together with a friend. We're pushed to leave the asphalted road few times by crazy truck drivers who sent us on side fields.

    Amazing Guide
Four of us from the USA spent several days with Ionut touring Romania. He is a thoughtful and knowledgeable guide not only for the local art, history, architecture and so on but as one who loves nature, outdoor activities and the environment. Ionut was always helpful and companionable but never intrusive. His English is very very good, as is his sense of humor and his commitment to his craft. We really enjoyed our time in Romania, and Ionut contributed a great deal to our enjoyment! Five stars!

I am born and raised in Bucharest so I thought I knew the place pretty well :). Taking a tour with Bike in Time was a very good idea because I have learnt new things about my city. I enjoyed the company and the tour. If you want to visit Bucharest in a less touristy manner and yet get the best out of Bucharest, I think this is the way.

I really enjoyed this bike tour and is recommend it to anyone. Ionut was very knowledgeable about Bucharest and Romania and he shared a lot of insights. He's very accommodating and the pace was just right for a hot summer day. The tour was a good mix of history, culture, and current events. And I learned alot in this tour. And the bike was comfortable and mechanically sound. Im really glad I took this bike tour.
