What a Great Tour
It was an amazing tour. I saw places, I would not find on my own. We visited old houses, famous streets, a market, an old villa and interesting street art. The guide made it so special. He knows everything about Bukarest. We had lunch and later on sausages, try the eggplant salad - tasty. Some beers, a lot of talking and getting to know each other and the life in Bukarest. It were 6 hours that just flew by. Moreover, he gave me tips for restaurants and more places to visit. The tour is really worth it. Reserve your Ticket!!!

Fascinating history provided by our excellent guide Mircea
Reserving a tour with Mircea Constantin of Local Hosts was one of the highlights of our time in Bucharest. My husband and I chose his Communism Tour hoping to have a better understanding of Bucharest's recent political history. We received that and so much more during our time with Mircea. He skillfully combined a walking tour of Bucharest allowing us to become familiar with this captivating city along with personal stories that helped us understand the complexities and impact of communism. It was certainly one of the most enlightening walking tours I have even taken. I highly recommend taking a tour with Mircea of Local Hosts. I was disappointed with the lack of travel books when doing my research for our time in Bucharest before we arrived so having such an excellent introducation to the city provided by Mircea was a wise investment of time and money. Very insightful and entertaining
We thought we know Bucharest..but we learned a lot of new things about the history of the city and some celebrities which belong to the history of the city. Mircea is the perfect guide..fun, entertaining and very careful to the small details. He really made the difference! It’s awesome to still be able to discover the old Bucharest and at the same have a guide who talks to you and not just recites the story.

We ended up in one of the most complex and fun tours we had in a while. Great food and stories and the host just clicked with all our needs. The path of the tour is very well balanced between the stops and the things you get to see and photograph. We would never discover that area despite being so close to the old center of the city.

Great tour of old Bucharest neighborhoods
Me and my wife took the tour out of curiosity after a friend mentioned it to us. Even though we're both born and raised in Bucharest, we had never truly paid attention to the places we visited during the tour. Plenty of things we had never heard about. You could tell the guide puts passion into his work. Well paced. For us, it turned out to be an afternoon well spent.

Lovely tour of Bucharest
Although I know Bucharest relatively well, having been a regular visitor since I was a child, I found out a lot of stories during this tour that made me understand the city in more depth - particularly in terms of its history. I was especially into the part creepy-mystical, part heart-breaking/warming stories of the intellectual and commercial elite of the 19th and 20th century in the Bellu cemetery - great to have a local host to guide you through that maze and share the stories! But also to see the parts of the city that are associated with the marginalised and the poor, and the lesser known city locations that gave me more of a glimpse into Romanian communism and its heritage. I fully recommend it, and suggest you ask the host as many questions as you can! It's definitely a dialogue thing. The more you put into it, the more you get out of it!

Understanding a city
I lived in Bucharest for 19 years and had no idea it had such great stories to tell. Took the tour with a few friends and spent 3 or 4 hours wandering the old streets of the city. We discovered there's a public bath functioning since the 19th century in the center of Bucharest, saw otoman and modernist architecture and had a lovely lemonade in a garden. Over all, a pleasant way to spend a Sunday.

Mircea was amazing!
The guide, Mircea, really went above and beyond to make sure I had a great afternoon in Bucharest. He was very knowledgeable and gave me an excellent insight into life in Bucharest. He even made sure I got to my hotel safely at the end of the afternoon, as well as send me a follow up email with YouTube clips of things we had discussed. He really did a great job and I look forward to his tours when I, hopefully, return to Romania.

So fun!
I was in Bucharest on business and only had a little bit of time to visit. I picked the right tour! This was the perfect balance of sightseeing, history, culture and architecture. I had so much fun with Mircea. I could have listened to his stories the whole day! It also helped that immediately upon meeting, he gave me a really yummy local snack. This is tour perfection! Thank you Mircea!

One of the best day in Bucharest by far.
I work in an airline with one overnight stay in Bucharest. I took the tour for a day since there was not enough time for me to extend my stay. I chose the tour Bucharest Chronicles so that at the end of the day I would know something about the culture and the people of this city. Mircea organized the tour beautifully with coffee (beer breaks:)), lunch and many touristic atractions being covered. I would come back hopefully and I would try one of his tours one more time.

Best experience in Bucharest
We had a private communist tour with Mircea and it was the best experience of our trip! He is smart and funny and with great knowledge on romanian history, always with a critical view. He told us a lot about the past and present of Romania and took us on a ride to many non approachable on foot (or tourists) places of the city, like the Bronx of Bucharest where he grew up. The only thing we would change, is to have more time to have more tours with these Local Hosts :) I wish all tour guides - or even people - were more like Mircea and his friends!
