My husband and I really enjoyed our private tour of Bucharest. Mr. Adrain Ene was a very helpful tour guide showing us, churches, city landmarks and the history. He took us to the Parliament Building, very interesting, we especially enjoyed the outdoor Dimitri Gusti National Outdoor Museum a Unesco site. We had an amazing trip with our David, can highly reccomend this to anyone going to Romania. We got to see so many fantastic sights and places. Our favorites were Brasov, the fortified church in Prejmer and of course Bran Castle. My son actually saw the castle in the new Beetlejuice movie and remembered it. Trip with private guide – The painted monasteries of Bucovina Duration: 4 days The trip was excellently organized, making the most of the visiting time, our guide being an excellent communicator, knowledgeable about the history and culture of the places visited. He facilitated our introduction to the wonderful space of Bukovina, in the north-east of Romania, for our group of 4 people. First day – Travel Brasov – Gura Humorului. Visit to the Voronet monastery (founded in 1488 by Stephen the Great, with the interior painting from 1496, with the exterior frescoes from 1547, UNESCO monument). We got in touch with the architecture of the Moldovan style and we were fascinated by the famous "Voronet blue". Accommodation at Gura Humorului. Day two – Visits to the Moldovita Monastery (1532 – founder Petru Rares, UNESCO monument), the Museum of Painted Eggs (Relief wax workout in Lucia Condrea art, 1980-2016), the Sucevita Monastery (1583 – founded by Gheorghe Movila, UNESCO monument), the Ceramics Workshops in Marginea (Romanian black ceramics) – Putna Monastery (1466 – founder Stephen the Great (1457-1504), the final resting place for the great ruler of Moldavia, who became a saint). Accommodation in Gura Humorului. Day three – Visits to the Humor Monastery (1530 – founder Petru Rares, with defence tower and surrounding walls, UNESCO monument), the memorial house in Humulesti of the writer and great storyteller Ion Creanga (1837-1889), the Agapia monastery (1642, founder brother of the ruler Vasile Lupu; it is populated since 1803 by nuns, being one of the largest monastic settlements; the nuns' village includes over 300 nuns; The interior painting of the church was made between 1859 and 1862 by the great Romanian painter Nicolae Grigorescu; Excellent organization of the Museum and the nuns' workshops), Neamţ Fortress (1300-Petru Musat, 1457 – Stephen the Great; one of the oldest and most imposing fortresses of Moldavia, recently renovated). Accommodation at a guesthouse at Lake Bicaz. Day four – The way back to Brasov included a stop at the Dam of the Dimitrie Leonida Hydropower Plant in Bicaz (the dam on the Bistrita River ensures the accumulation of water in the reservoir of over 30 square kilometers, with a water fall of 127 m; it is an achievement of the 1950s-1960s; The hydroelectric power plant was put into operation in 1962, with an installed capacity of 210 MW, capitalizes on water energy), Bicaz Gorges (a monument of nature, protected area, stretches along the Bicaz River, between Bicaz and Red Lake). Every thing was better than we expected! A travel whit a professional guide give us new value informations and perspectives about medieval times. I realy recomend the tour with Visit Transilvania travel and especialy thanks to David for being a perfect guide. Transilvania is amazing and unforgerable. We did a 6 day private tour with our guide Dan, who provided ample information about what we were seeing, and helped separate fact from fiction. We were able to visit a number of fortified churches, castles, and palaces, which would have been difficult to accomplish on our own in 6 days. The return drive on the Transfagarsan highway was breathtaking at times, and not just because of the four bear sightings!

We did a tour of the interesting places in Romania (unesco sights). We had 2 nights in the countryside in rural villages which gave us an insight to the traditional romanian life and the rest of the nights in modern or historic cities. We saw impressive sights like Corvin castle, painted churches, wooden churches, Merry cemetery, bran castle, alba iulia fort, peles castle, arts and crafts, and much more. David was very knowledgeable and helpful. He was passionate about the Romanian culture and history. It was as if we had a personal historian with us. If we had concerns, he was able to accommodate us. The food was great but they definitely eat a lot of pork. The traditional food is very hearty and savory. The trip gave us a great overview and we would definitely do the tour again.

HIGH POINT: Our guide, DAVID. Excellent, knowledgeable, kind, prudent driver, flexible to accommodate changes in how we went through the planned itinerary. TOUR PLAN: All highlights were educational and the awesome scenery was every day surprising us. No boring time. We appreciate that he showed us the places to buy souvenirs but no push on us to buy something. ACCOMMODATIONS AND MEALS: Enyoable, as expected, with the bonus of experiencing other types of food then that we are used to. We are a 77 years old couple and it was a private tour. We highly recommend the company (that I found searching in internet) and the guide to visit that part of Romania as well as others.

David came through for us when our other tour guide fell off a week before our departure. David put together a four day tour of Transylvania, including all the Vlad/Dracula highlights that we requested. He was extremely responsive and called us with details. Very knowledgeable about history, architecture and culture, David provided an insight into Romania’s democratic system after growing up in communism. My friend and I enjoyed a nice day with our tour guide David exploring the castles Peles and Bran as well as the Prejmer fortified church in one day. It was a very interesting tour with a guide who knows a lot about the country and its history. Also, he never got tired of answering our questions. :-) We were picked up from our hotel and David brought us back safe and sound including a little tour by car through Brașov. Tickets to the sights were not included but after we had bought the tickets, David guided us through the rooms and explained everything in detail to us. Highly recommended.

My friend and I opted to take the UNESCO tour because I have wanted to see the painted monasteries for years. This tour showed me so much more than that and allowed me to get a stronger understanding of the art, history, and culture of Romania.
