        Must do in Bucharest
I need six stars! Serban and Ivan led us through Bucharest with the passion that only those who lived under Ceausescu can muster. Take a good overview of Romanian modern history, modern monarchy, nazi and soviet impacts and the Ceausescu years, all painted on a canvas driven by a small fleet of the wonderful vehicles that Romania brought to the world. We had a chance to drive these classic cars in Bucharest traffic while talking on Romania’s recent history - personal tales, delivered with first hand experience. If you have an interest in motoring history whilst in Bucharest, this is a must. If you don’t car about cars and love learning about history by those who lived it, dont miss this tour. Thank you so much Serban and Ivan from your new Aussie friends.

        A taste of Romanian socialism
A great experience with my friends driving a Dacia 1300, 54 HP with my friends and our guide, Crinu. We saw the most important landmarks of Bucharest and talked about them, the car's technical details and a bit of history. For me, this specific part of history and technology is a great area of interest and the tour was perfect for this hobby. We are glad we met with Crinu and had such a great day. Adrian Radulescu

        A fantastic experience!
This was our first activity in Bucharest and it was a fantastic experience. We learnt so much about the lifestyle and history of the city and absolutely loved the chance to ride around in the Dacia. We highly recommend this activity. Our driver, Mihai, was professional, knowledgeable and friendly. This experience was definitely one of the highlights of our holiday!

        Wonderful Tour
What a fun experience! My tour guide was an amazing storyteller and provided an informative tour with stimulating discussion. Everywhere you go you’ll see Romanians smiling when they see your classic Dacia, as they also are taken back in time. I enjoyed the tour so much I booked it again for my family when they visited Bucharest. Well worth it!

        Unique experience
I had an awesome time on the tour and I had the pleasure to meet Mr. Serban and his Letitia. Driving Letitia while listening to stories from the old days brought back memories. Taking a peak under the hood reminded me of our Dacia back in the day, and my father yelling about the engine dying while regulating the carburetor. The experience of driving this old Dacia is unique. It teaches history hands-on, it has character. I really recommend taking it for a drive. For me it was a trip down memory lane. What will it be for you?

The dark stories of Bucharest and Romania in a Dacia :)
This time I had my third tour with Serbans company, the second with the absolutely friendly and competent guide Crinu. I was picked up at the Hotel on time and we did stops at the Parliament, at the Place of the revolution and in the Oldtown of Bucharest. I learned different bloodfreezing true stories about serial killers in Romania, about ghosts haunting Parliament, about children living under terrible circumstances, about butchers selling meat of unknown, suspicious origin and much more. Some of these things happened during communist period of Ceausescu. Then the tour made a cut, and changed time-period to the middle-age. We left Bucharest with this wonderful original Dacia of the 80's and after a short break for toilet and a snack and refreshment we visited the place where Dracula is buried in a monestary, combined with a mausoleum of victims of WWI. Then we had a short trip to nature reserve Comana and left for Bucharest again. An really amazing 6-hour-trip, which I fully recommend

        Fall in love with Dacia
Very cool way of spending your day. You will learn a lot about history of Romania and specifically Bucharest as well as hearing many stories from a communist era of the country. Mihai was an excellent host and very knowledgeable guy with great passion for his Dacia. If you're someone who enjoys cars on a nerdy level like me you'll feel at home with Mihai. If I'm ever back in Bucharest I'll definitely be in touch!

Contrasts was a great tour on it's own; the Dacia was the cherry on top
In the "Bucharest of Contrasts Tour", Ivan Crinu provided me with a glimpse into Bucharest's stratified socioeconomic landscape. We drove through Cotroceni, with its villas and historic atmosphere, Drumul Taberei, with its middle-class charm and practicality, and Ferentari, which had visible economic struggles. I'm grateful to have had a tour with Ivan, who's deep knowledge imparted me with a historical scaffolad to understand the stark contrasts between affluent, middle-class, and underprivileged areas in Romania's capital. My favorite highlight was juxtaposition of the Academia Română building in Uranus, built during the communist era for one (Elena Ceaușescu), and the adjacent Bragadiru Palace, constructed by the capitalist Dumitru Bragadiru, but serving as a cultural institution for the masses. It showed me that, even after 30 years of democracy, and after Romania's extraordinary economic growth in recent years, the politcal upheaval of the 20th century remains cast in concrete -- still influencing the social problems of today.

        Best introduction to Bucharest
We started our first day in Bucharest by doing the 3,5 hours Communist Tour with Red Patrol, and thus had the best introduction to the city, and the history of Romania altogether. We were a group of 7 old friends in our mid 30’s and went with three of Red Patrol’s beautiful and cool old Dacias, each with a private chauffeur who took turns on guiding and introducing us to the city. You make several stops and get to see a lot of things and places. Time went by easily, and the guides were very friendly and informative. I would recommend this tour and this team to everyone. Hope to see you and the cars again one day.

        Guilty petrolhead pleasures
As a person learning about Romanian culture as well as being born in Eastern Europe I can say that the tour guide is an unbeatable experience for those interested in history, cars and intricacies of Romanian history. Not only I did enjoy it a whole lot (and I guess Serban did overstay a lot to address all of my picky answers starting from the Royal family and up to Ceausescu era including his siblings and relatives but also showed a bunch of places around the city which I added as a goto straight away :)

Shifting Through Bucharest’s Past—Red Patrol Car Tours
If you want a different perspective on Bucharest, I highly recommend Red Patrol Tours. It’s a fun, engaging, and memorable way to explore the city. Seeing the sites while riding in classic Dacias, popular during Nicolae Ceaușescu’s reign, adds authenticity to the experience. Our guides were knowledgeable, passionate, genuine, and friendly. They shared insightful stories about Bucharest’s rich history and transformation under Ceaușescu, which provided a deeper understanding of its complex past. The true stars of the tour were the iconic Dacias, such as Leticia, a fiery red model, and Malvina, a charming cream-colored one. These vehicles, symbols of Romania’s communist era, represented affordable transportation for the masses. The cars were quirky, captivating, and authentic conversation starters, making the experience feel like a journey back in time. Intertwined with Romania’s political and social landscape, their history added even more depth to the tour. We also loved the off-the-beaten-path approach, discovering hidden gems, local spots we might have missed, and key historical sites. Capture every moment in these unique cars—the Dacias are rare gems 💎

        Great experience!
We had a great tour and learned so much about the history of Romania. Riding in the Dacia’s really enhanced the experience. We also appreciated getting the “newspaper “ detailing the facts of everything we had observed and learned about. They even came and picked us up! You won’t regret taking this tour!

        Must do while in Bucharest
While visiting Bucharest with friends we booked The Red Patrol for one early afternoon. It was probably one of the best experiences we had in the city . Not only that we learned so much of the cars, thanks to the vivid passion of Serban about Dacia cars but the city unfolded to us, places and real life stories some of it long forgotten were brought back to life by our guide Cătălin . Highly recommended for anyone visiting Bucharest, especially if you have a short stay you will get to see the entire city and listen to it history !

Driving a classic car in Bucharest
It was a thrill to drive the old manual transmission car through the streets of Bucharest. In the rear view mirror was the arc de triomphe! Great history lesson with a passionate and accommodating guide. This was a fun tour.

A perfect morning spent with Serban on a day off during a business trip. Serban is a knowledgeable and intelligent tour guide that is perceptive and accommodating to your specific interests. The flea market tour is a unique one, offering a way to experience the city in the present and past through material culture.

To me, the Dacia car is an added bonus to the experience, but all in all, it is Serban, the city and the history that makes this tour not-to-be-missed!
