        A disappointing trip
The trip was booked for me and three friends to see Dracula's castle, the guy was early picking us up so we weren't ready. We were rushed round Pele's castle so didn't have time to stop and look/read things. Brasov has a beautiful square with restaurants but the service is very slow. Dracula's castle has nothing to do with Dracula, it has a steep incline to get up to the start which could be difficult for people with walking/breathing issues inside the military fort is a beautiful garden but again so busy you are pushed round, and because you are on a short time scale not enough time to enjoy. There is a market and haunted house at the bottom of the castle but we didn't have time to look around it.

        Draculas castle and mountain drive
Superb views through the mountains on the way, fantastic castle and other stops, perhaps not enough time to browse the markets at the castle and then too much time in a small town with nothing to do, but otherwise a wonderful trip

Perfect day exceeding all the expectations
I participated on 19/05/24 in the tour "From Bucharest: Dracula Castle, Peles & Brasov Full-Day Trip" with One Excellence Tours, guided by Emanuel, and it was an outstanding experience. Normally, I shy away from big guided tours, preferring more intimate and flexible travel experiences. However, this tour surpassed all my expectations and was, without a doubt, the best tour I have ever taken. From start to finish, the tour was perfectly organized. Emanuel, our guide, was incredibly knowledgeable and engaging, making each destination come to life with fascinating stories and insights. The itinerary was well-planned, allowing us to make the most of our 12-hour adventure without feeling rushed. We had ample free time at each stop, which was a wonderful touch, giving us the freedom to explore and enjoy at our own pace. The meticulous planning and execution meant that we utilized every minute of the tour to its fullest potential. The balance between guided segments and free time was ideal, ensuring a rich and informative experience without being overwhelming. Kudos to Emanuel and One Excellence Tours for providing such a memorable experience!

        Poorly setup
The directions to the bus were too vague for newcomers to Bucharest. We arrived at the meeting point? in time for the tour but there was no operator outside, no name on the bus, so we did not realize we were at the correct spot. We kept walking, went way out of our way until a man kindly took us back to the right area. There were no buses to be seen; they had left. None of us was sure exactly where the pickup spot was. The tour should have a sign out on the street. I cannot review the tour, as we did not get it. The preliminary contacts were also unsatisfactory -- I had to ask the hotel desk how to get to the spot. They gave me a map which was not detailed enough -- the same map the tour provided. Shame on you! We should get our money back because the fault was yours. We booked extra days in Bucharest specially for this tour, to which we were looking forward.

        Unsafe driving
The trip itself was very interesting, and the guide gave good information, once we were at the sites . But he drove too fast, looked at his phone while driving, and did not suggest seat rotation in the small minivan. As a result, the same 2 people occupied the front seat all day , and no one else had a clear view.

        Terrible experience
The tour operator cancelled our trip for no reason. Woke up early just to not be allowed onto the bus despite showing the confirmation email.

Amazing sights and excellent tour guide
I’ve personally visited the locations on the tour before, however going with a guide made the journey and locations so much better for my friend’s first time in Romania and even for myself. Dani was the best tour guide we could ask for: friendly, funny, engaging, but also professional and well organised too. Definitely a must experience

Enjoyable tour with a good tour guide!
Today we went on a day trip to Transylvania from Bucharest with One Excellence Tours. Our tour guide is Dani; he did a splendid job for the whole group! He made a good explanation in Peles Castle, maintained a great atmosphere for the whole group, and answered all types of answers from us. Unfortunately, on our way back to Bucharest, we met an accident in which a couple put their seat back very low on the back side which affected the other travelers. It is Dani again that stopped the whole accident and provided a really good solution (maybe not for the rude couple, but for the other travelers). Thanks Dani for the great performance as our tour guide!

Absolute must for any Bucharest trip
Dani was a great guide! One of the few places in the world where bad weather and rain actually adds to the ambiance of the castles and landscape. Rain was definitely annoying but all the sights were worth getting wet!

        Perfect 2 days in Transylvania
This was our first visit to Romania and had wanted to spend more time in Transylvania rather than Bucharest to see some more of the history and culture of the country. We resisted the temptation of a long one day tour and booked this tour instead as we felt it would give us a better perspective (the tour company also does a 3 day tour which may be better if you have the time). We booked directly with the company and paid in advance. We received good communication prior to the trip both from the owner and our tour guide. We met Emanuel with his burgundy minibus outside the Hilton Garden Inn in the Old Town and within a few minutes we could tell that we would enjoy his company and knowledge. We were the only people on this particular tour so this gave us good access to Emanuel and gave us a little more flexibility on timings when we had some bad luck with heavy rain! We visited some great towns, palaces and churches over 2 full days and learnt so much. Highlights for me were the beautiful Peles Palace and the central areas of Brasov and Sibiu although everywhere was great. Emanuel gave us some good recommendations for lunch on both days and we enjoyed staying at the hotel in Sighisoara. Despite taking a more leisurely 2 days for the tour it is still 2 long days as you get back to Bucharest at 7pm (or later if you don’t have good luck with the traffic). Overall throughly recommended and Emanuel deserves a medal for 2 days of driving and commentary!

Since we wanted to see more than the typical Transylvania tour, my boyfriend and I booked the 6 days tour to see Romania Our guide was Marius, who was informative, friendly and fun. By the end of the tour he felt more like a traveling friend than a guide. Tour was nicely paced and Marius gave us plenty of free time to explore on our own. The hotels were all excellent. This tour included 2 nights at a home stay in Maramures, which was my absolute favorite. The home cooked meals by Elena, who used fresh ingredients from their garden, hens and local farmers, were absolutely delicious. You could tell right away that the meals were made with love by her. During this tour, you see all the beautiful wooden churches, monasteries, cemeteries, mountains and farm life in Romania. We got to spend more time at each location than you would with a one day tour, which is why I would highly recommend this tour if you want to see the real Romania.

We just returned yesterday to Bucharest from a grand tour into Romania. It all started out with a full day visit to important sites in Bucharest then we headed out to the country. First of all, the country is stupendous. Our biggest impression was nature, the mountains, streams, deep mysterious forest. And the beautiful cities of Sibiu, Braşov, Sighişoara and more were unforgettable. Paul had arranged everything impeccably. He is a fountain of knowledge complete with dates of buildings. Amazing. We went in his super, big sedan for days on the road. Laughed, talked, told life stories and in general had a super time. If you go don’t miss the stop over in the absolutely enchanting village of Breb in Maremures. A high point. Paul has our highest recommendations. Truly, he went above and beyond in helping us to connect with relatives outside of Suceava, serving as translator during our evening there and then delivering a gift from us to the family in Moldavia. Thanks, Paul. An amazing time.

Wow! What a great 6 days to see Romania. We wanted to see a bit more than the typical Transylvania tour. Our guide was Marius, super friendly, fun and informative. By the end of the tour he felt more like a traveling friend than a guide. Tour was nicely paced, without early departing times. Plenty of free time to explore on your own. Hotels were all great, with my favorite being the home stay in Maramures. The home cooked meals by Elena were sooo good but her fresh baked bread was out of this world. I overstuffed myself both days. You see all the beautiful wooden churches, monasteries, cemeteries, mountains and farm life in Romania. We even saw a bear on the side of the road which is rare at our elevation. We got to spend more time at the location than you would with a one day tour. I would recommend this tour to anybody if you want to see the real Romania
