This tour was taken by Andrea who was a charming lady who took us on an excellent tour. She met us with warm pretzels and took us on parts of the city , little gems that you would not find by yourself. This was interspersed with small cafes where we had local beer and platters of food. After a trip on the tram we visited a huge market where we bought cheese and vegetables which she then prepared for us and served with mici, more beers and sweet plum liqueur.
She was a mine of information and gave us plenty of time to ask questions. An absolute joy. Multumesc! X

This was a wonderful tour. My wife and I took the tour during the off season and had our guide, Bogdan all to our selves. The tour consisted of a lot of walking and Bogdan effortless kept conversation going between stops. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the history of the country. The food stops on the tour were amazing, especially the market. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone and would advise people to ask for Bogdan by name.

We met Bogdan as arranged and had a very informative condensed history of Bucharest, we walked to our first stop for a drink and plate of cheese and cured meats which was lovely.
The tour continues with interesting information and sights which ends up at a local market off the tourist map, we then had more drinks and food.
We had a great day and tried some local food and drinks, Bogdan was great! Very knowledgeable and made sure we all had an enjoyable time.

Thanks !

I am fortunate enough to have had a private walking tour with Dana. A very cold January day is not in high demand for a walking tour, so it was just the two of us. Dana is friendly, intelligent, well spoken, and most importantly a scholar when it comes to Romanian and Bucharest culture, architecture and history. I am sure there are other great guides, but my time with her was special. There is so much to see and learn on this tour - highly recommended.

I booked this tour as a solo traveller, and had a great time. It was a nice day trying lots of local food whilst learning about history of Bucharest and Romania. Be prepared to walk a lot, and consider the weather I.e sunscreen. The tour guide was lovely and enthusiastic, and very knowledgable.

I traveled to Bucharest for work and stayed a few days extra with my other half to explore somewhere we'd never been before. I decided on a whim to book this tour and I'm so glad I did! Dana T. was completely awesome, super easy going, highly educated, excellent English skills and she was well-informed about world events. Dana grew up near the area where we walked around so she knew everything about the neighborhood and the best places to eat. We went to (what Americans would call) a farmer's market and picked up a few things - tomatoes, cheese, cucumbers, etc. - and found a table outside where Dana got us a couple of local beers to try. Five minutes later she comes back with this beautiful spread of everything we just bought in the market, everything was perfect.

We made four stops in total and got to see some really interesting neighborhoods/architecture along the way. I'd definitely recommend this tour to anyone and, if you can, ask for Dana - she made all the difference for us!!

Fabulous and unusual experience in Bucharest, very different from the rest. Yes, definitely take the free walking tour's offered, but if you want to get off the beaten track, and see some of the churches that were moved during the communist era, if you want to go to the market, if you want excellent company and an intellectual experience, this is the tour for you!

What an excellent tour. Our guide shared with us a comprehensive history of Bucharest in addition to telling stories about the culture and cuisine of the country. There is no better way to learn about a country than through its food. We visited a secret police hangout (now a restaurant), a throw back to the Communist era, plus a huge farmers’ market. The famous skinless sausage and local beer plus fresh salad prepared by our guide were a hit with all on the tour. We also learned about the styles of architecture that are represented throughout the old town. All in all, we came away with much more knowledge and saw many other sites than we ever would have gotten if we just walked around by ourselves.

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Bogdan exploring Bucharest. We liked that the tour was a blend of food and culture/history, visiting spots we'd never have known existed or tried to explore on our own.
Bogdan was so friendly, knowledgable & patient with all our questions and helped make the day a truly seamless experience.
Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge and beautiful city with us!
