Itinerary
- 1Imagine yourself in the late 19th century, in a romantic era of peace and prosperity called the “Belle Époque." At the time, Bucharest was a city where the West met the East, instantly charming travelers with its multicultural diversity, bohemian lifestyle, and gorgeous architecture. The city experienced its greatest cultural boom during this period, and was known as the Paris of the East. This 3-hour private tour is structured as a story, taking you along the famous Victory Boulevard and through the restored Old Town. Each major attraction has its own tale to tell, allowing you to go back in time and discover the social and cultural life of the era. You’ll see beautiful palaces and historical buildings of Neoclassic, Art-Nouveau, Baroque, and Byzantine styles. The Old Town is an area bursting with life that still resembles the charm of the Belle Époque with its old street lamps, vintage cafés, bistros & lounges nestled within 18th century houses, and street musicians on every corner. You will be picked up and dropped off at your hotel in Bucharest, and accompanied by a private local guide who will tell you the stories of the 19th century, the history behind the buildings and answer any additional questions you have.

- RenatoSoares0 contributionsBucharest tripThe village has several buildings that were a real house from people all over the country. They moved the entire house to this village in order to recreate a real condition. Our tour guide, Mr. Bordan, knows a great deal of the Romenian history. In the wine tasting, we had a opportunity to taste 4 types of Romenian wine.Written November 21, 2023
- MSandoi0 contributionsExcellent business outing ideaThe guide was very professional, had extensive knowledge about Romanian history and even the Romanians in the group learned new interesting facts. The wine bar was very cozy and the owner/staff are friendly and open. Excellent parings of wine and platers made this team outing a success.Written February 14, 2023
- CristinaCtin0 contributionsVery knowledgeable guideWe were a group of 25 people and we all were impressed by quality of information received from our tour guide, adding tons of value to the visit and making it memorable. Most us already visited Village Museum before, but never with a guide, and you could really feel you learn something new at each step. Everyone had a good time. At the end, at the wine bar, there is also the possibility to buy some wine.Written February 13, 2023
- Buccaneer960 contributionsTravel back in time into a Romanian villageIt was a lovely place. We got a discount for being students. The place is well kept and everything is green and fresh. And places were under renovation, But it's a good sign. I definitely recommend it. Go visit village museum. It's like going back in time. There are plenty of huts and houses, churches etc. from all over of Romania of the 19th - 17th century - just in one place.Written September 5, 2022

- denisemcp0 contributionsTwo tours and bonusI am so impressed and grateful to have gone on this tour with Mihai. It was a beautiful day, we had no traffic and it was absolutely gorgeous. The best part was all of the information and great conversation with Mihai. I really got to understand who King Carol was, what Brasov was about and appreciated Queen Maria and her stay at Bran even more than the story of Dracula. It was beyond my expectations and I learned so much about Romania, Transylvania and the history. It is such a beautiful country and it matters so much to go with someone who is both knowledgeable and looks out for their guests l. I honestly cannot thank or recommend this tour enough. Mihai even took his time to give me a full itinerary for a free day I had and I am so glad I took his suggestions. I got to see and dine in amazing hidden gems.Written May 20, 2021

- Sandy C0 contributionsAmazing Guide! Fantastic Tour! The highlight of our trip to Bucharest was a day trip to Transylvania with Mihai from Unveil Romania. We visited Peles Castle, Bran Castle, Rasnov Fortress, and Brasnov old town. Mihai knows all of the best photo spots and patiently took photos of my husband and I. Mihai's knowledge and enthusiasm made the day one we will never forget. We voted him best tour guide ever! Thank you, Mihai for sharing your beautiful country with us.Written November 2, 2019
