My husband and I did a 1 day hike in the Ciucas mountains, with a pick up in Bucharest and drop off in Brasov. The day was perfect, very personalised and Dan really listened to what we were after and delivered. We had a very sunny and snowy hike in a remote area where we would have definitely not been able to go alone. Definitely recommend!

We did a private hiking tour with Dan of Outdoor Activities Romania in August thus year. Thus was our second trip with Dan .. our first fantastic adventure was in the Transylvania area and this time we went to the north of Romania, starting at Cluj-Napica. Dan is expert at tailoring a trip to the guests' interests. We enjoy hiking, good food, wine, arts and crafts and culture. We went on some good hikes, saw some beautiful countryside, met some craftspeople, visited some stunning churches, enjoyed some tremendous meals and drank quite a bit of the national drink.. palinka. We particularly enjoyed Breb.. a fairytale village which featured laden fruit trees, beautiful gardens, horses and carts, traditional churches and a very comfortable guesthouse. King Charles has a place here for rent. The village had lots of stalls selling beautiful Romanian blouses, preserves and of course palinka for very reasonable prices. Dan took us to visit several craftspeople and a family home. The latter visit was really enjoyable. We were made very welcome. There are some excellent hikes around Breb. Another village guesthouse Dan chose for us was notable for the astounding quantity and quality of its meals. Home grown, home cooked, totally delicious food in quantities that defeated us all... in the nicest of ways All three village guest houses were exceptionally welcoming and comfortable. Another highlight of our trip was a visit to three 'painted churches'. All were astoundingly beautiful. Dan is an excellent guide.. one of the best one could wish for. . He puts a lot of thought and care into designing tours.. with the aim of giving the guests a great holiday and an insight into a very interesting country . He is kind, thoughtful, calm, is a great conversationalist and as we say in Australia 'bloody good company'. Romania is well worth a visit... and Dan and Outdoor Activities are an outstanding way to see the very best of Romania. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Just finished a two day custom hiking experience in Transylvania with Dan from Outdoor Activities in Romania. He is an amazing guide and a new friend! Dan is awesome at customizing tours to your liking; ours had a perfect mix of culture and natural sights. We were lucky to be in Romania in October, and were treated to a beautiful show of fall colors! Dan is a very attentive guide and goes at the perfect pace for everyone in the party. He is very friendly and shares lots of interesting facts about Romania and the local environment. Honestly I think he could talk about pretty much anything you want. A great thing about hiking with Outdoor Activities is that Dan knew the the best ways up and down the mountain — he will plan out everything smartly for you. We really enjoyed everything about the tour, whether it was the views, the food, the palinca, or the conversation. If you’re looking to go hiking in Romania, I’d highly recommend Outdoor Activities in Romania. Name the place and they’ll take you there!

Over the years my son has been on several school camps, both summer and winter, but he has never been so excited as he came now. He has experienced new things, exceeded his own limits, enriched his “collection” of dream landscapes. Happy child, happy parent! We will definitely repeat the experience. Fantastic landscape with photogenic rocky tops shaped by weather and amazing mountain horizon 360 deg around, good balance between challenging and moderate itinerary, really kind and professional guidance and care for our family needs from the organizer Dan Chitila and from the guide Stefan, great stories shared two-ways on all we wanted to learn about, lots and lots of wild flowers of all colors (end June at its best!) and nevertheless the sense of adrenaline and fun at the end when running back to the car through the summer rain. We were not especially trained for climbing but the 750m up were passed in the (rather slow) tempo I needed, many small breaks, lots of photos, and many interesting stories. The tour has a fantastic value if you, like me, are keen to catch pictures!

I did a private hiking tour with Stephen up to Omu Peak, and what a great, wonderful time I had. The views were stunning, and I had a great time. I would highly recommend!

I did a two day and two night tour outside of Bucharest with Dan. He had organized everything perfectly and with a lot of attention to details, so I basically accepted all his recommendations and just went with him into the beautiful scenery of Transylvania. I learned so much and really appreciated seeing such a variety of things, from hiking to castles to towns to churches and more. Dan is extremely passionate about his country as he should be, and a very thoughtful guide who took lots of care with my short time there, and I do not hesitate to recommend his company.

At first, before his first trip with Dan & Mihaela, my son was not that excited to spend one day walking in the mountains instead of playing Brawl Stars on his phone. But after coming back home he told us:’’ it was exhausting but I want more’’. That was almost one year ago and now we have almost ten one-day-trips and a 7 day camp and he still waits eagerly for the next one. The last one, in a winter landscape, had everything he wanted: lots of snow, fun with close friends, good food (as usual) and I would also add safe guidance from Dan and Mihaela. Thank you, guys, for turning him into a mountain lover.

Our boy went on several mountain trips with different guides throughout the years but going with Dan and Mihaela is the top experience by far for him. And so yesterday was I think the 7th or 8th trip with Dan. That says it all! As they say, happy kid, happy parents 😊 and we definitely look forward to going ourselves with the Outdoor Activities team! Thanks a lot, guys!!!

It was a perfect day for a hike in the Ciucas Mountains - brilliant blue sky and fantastic fall colors! Dan was an excellent guide, always aware of providing a safe experience and an excellent hiking companion. The mountains would be incredible in almost any weather, with stunning stone spires rising up out of the landscape and a different view around almost every corner, including some formations with imaginary animals, if one looked closely. Off in the distance you could see all the way to the city of Brasov veiled in layers of colored haze. This day hike was the perfect culmination to our 12 day trip from Budapest to Bucharest and the beautiful photos from this hike will have a prominent place in the online photo book I will be working on this winter. I highly recommend Dan to anyone looking for a really great experience!

Excellent places, unforgettable experiences for my 11 year old kid. We expect other challenges that are at least as attractive. Keep it that way.

We booked a private Tour with Stefan - it was just excellent. The mountains were picturesque. Stefan told us everything we needed to know about the mountains and more. He always paid attention to our needs and looked out for us. He also knows the whole area very well and could give us much information about the things to do around Braşov and Constanţa. All in all it was a perfect day. I can recommend the tour to everyone who is looking for a beautiful medium hike. PS.: We met with the guide at the starting point of the trip, so there was no pickup from Bucharest as we were in Braşov at the time.

An extraordinary experience for my 10-year-old daughter, who loves nature and, thanks to the one-day tour on May 15, also hiking in the mountains. I had never seen her so happy, entering the door with such a big smile on her face after a long day of physical exertion. And the explanation is that he LOVE IT. Everything! The road, the trip, the incredible places, the presentations and the stories told by Dan, the way Dan and Mihaela took care of the kids and the list goes on. As the culmination of the day, she happily announced me that she wants to go hiking every (Satur)day from now on.
