      Out of Bucharest crowdedness
Narcis was an excellent guide. Great knowledge of the places and Romania history. Snagov monastery is great and the welcome team, 4 amazing dogs, is a plus. The time expended it was sufficient. Recommended.

Sightseeing and history - a terrific combination
It was great! In large part this was due to our driver/guide Narcis Brandusescu for two very different reasons. First, he was a great help physically – we are in our late 70s and really needed his strong arm/hand when there were no hand rails on stairs or the footing was very uneven – this despite our walking sticks (which I recommend, BTW). Secondly once Narcis discovered our preference for viewing museums he re-arranged the planned itinerary to include more of them and less churches. We also added a trip up the mountains to see Lake Vidaru, on the way meeting a mother brown bear and her two cubs!

Travelmaker's two day trip to Transilvania
Travelmaker helped me book train tickets for the overnight train from Bucharest to Chisinau. This was done at no commission and so was very nice of them. In addition, I booked and went on Travelmaker's two-day trip to Transilvania. This was an excellent trip. The guide was very knowledgeable and managed to keep the schedule. (I don't recommend the night train from Bucharest to Chisinau but this was no fault of Travelmaker.) The driver/guide went to great lengths to help me make the train connection at the end of the Trip to Transilvania. These guys really rock and know what they are doing.

Bulgaria trip turned into Salt Mines
We were supposed to go to Bulgaria for the day... I mean we did get there and got the stamp in our passports but 20 minutes drive over the border and we had to turn around as all roads were closed due to HEAVY EXTREME snow. May I add that the exact same weather as Romania... but they had 100's of snow ploughs out and had salted/gritted all their roads unlike the roads in Bulgaria. Fear not... We still had the most FANTASTIC day and it was all down to our amazing guide Narcis. He took our bus of 7 people to the Salt Mines instead.. which I will be honest... I wasn't really bothered about seeing.. I didn't really get it.. but my word! You HAVE to see it with your own eyes. This place is surreal, absolutely amazing and jaw dropping. Our guide Narcis even treated us all to the Go Karting 300m underground and it was just exhilarating and so much fun! I really had the best day! Thank you so much!

      Excellent Tour of Beautiful Transylvania
My son and I had the trip of a lifetime as we celebrated his 16th birthday present in Romania this summer. This tour was everything you want in a tour of a country very different from your own. Our group was small and our guide, Narcis, was a knowledgeable, informative, and thoughtful tour guide who took us to all the best places not mentioned in guidebooks. In a short three days, we learned about Romanian culture and history through visiting museums, monasteries, churches, and medieval villages. The van we toured in was great with large windows to view the gorgeous landscape and the hotels we stayed in were very nice with beautiful breakfasts. I am hopeful that I can send many friends and family on this fabulous tour through Romania.

Great time to be had, even with the stairs!
This was a last-minute addition to our sisters' and daughters' trip. Our tour guide, Matthew, was warm and friendly and engaged well with the group of us. He kept us entertained during the long drive and made sure we were all taken care of at each stop. There was ample free time to look around, and ample time to tour. It was a great balance.

We had Boogie as our guide and Peter as our driver and they were incredible!! Boogie was friendly and knowledgeable but kept us on schedule. He even called ahead to a restaurant to make sure that there was enough space for all of us since I was traveling with a group of seven. Absolutely made the day!

We were picked up promptly and had a informative, chatty journey to our first destination (Peles Castle). Throughout the trip Serban (our guide) told us so much valuable and interesting information about the history of Romania. He was able to answer all of my questions. When we arrived at the castle Serban got us on an English speaking tour immediately and then arranged a meeting point for us. He was there on time and then took us to a brandy distillery on route to Brans Castle. Here we sampled some local palinka and learnt about how it was made. It was fascinating.
When we arrived at Brans Castle we were given lots of good advice and escorted to the entrance. We were able to see the torture rooms and tour the castle in good time. We also had an opportunity to take photos and have time for a drink and a snack. Serban then took us on to our next destination (Brasov). We had 2 hours there to explore. We went up in the cable car to the top to see the breath taking views of the medevial city. We also enjoyed a hot mulled wine.
We returned to our meeting point and then travelled back in good time to the City Centre. We were dropped back directly at our hotel which was very kind of Serban to go out of his way to do this.
Overall we had a lovely day, we saw and experienced so much and thanks to our fantastic tour guide we are very knowledgeable about the history of the wonderful country of Romania. We would definitely recommend the company travel maker and our guide Serban. A fantastic day out!

    Hey,
I really wanted to share the review because this is one of the best and fun excursions I've ever had. The travel company is serious and reliable (I tripple checked credibility and it's legit unlike some other online companies that are out there). ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND
We're Canadian and we had a marvelous experience, reminded us of our Rocky Mountains back home. We absolutely had a blast on that bus. Our tour guide Serban Riga was absolutely fantastic, very knowledgeable, very resourceful, he had an answer to all our knit picked questions and was always there to let us know what was next, what to expect and he managed well all unpredictabilities.

We had a very well timed tour at Peles, we even had time to go on the extended tour (for those who were interested).

The Bran tour was amazing, we even got to see a fox and had amazing light and weather for pictures. I bought local țuica (the local eau de vie beverage) and even shared with the whole group (mind you this was before the pandemic). Everbody was in an even better mood after that (the party really started).

Brasov time was nice although the restaurant we chose ended up being pretty slow but we managed to get takeout and use up the time to visit a bit more (you have to check our the Creperie right across from the Piața Sfatului and it was AMAAAZING.

I believe Serban had shared his cellphone with us so in case we'd get lost he'd fetch us or guide us back to the bus but we got around pretty easily. He really managed to inspire team spirit and we all bonded really well (British, Aussies, Kiwis, Americans, Canadians and Germans alike).

Sorry it took so long to write my review (I forgot the excursion company name and just stumbled upon it again just now). We actually visited in October 2019 but Travel Advisor doesn't allow to select earlier dates for the reviews). Anyway this was my rant but just wanted to say this was a trip to remember.

Really interesting tour, the Palace and visit to Brasov the highlights. It’s a long day and can feel very cramped in the mini bus but don’t let this put you off. It’s well worth the experience to visit these places. Our guide was very accommodating and always tried his best to meet our expectations and requests. Tour Tip if travelling from Bucharest start as early as possible the city traffic is very congested, take drinks with you and extra clothing the weather can change and it is cooler away from Bucharest

My boyfriend and I had a lovely trip visiting the Peles Castle, Bran Castle and Brasov. Our guide Serban did an amazing job talking about the places in an interesting way. There was a lot of fun facts about places and items. The Peles Castle is by far the more interesting one, as the Bran Castle (Dracula Castle) is more marketing than a beautiful castle, which Serban also mentioned. The nature surrounding the mountains is stunning and worth the long drive.

He and the driver Peter had a great sense of humor, and it was a fun tour even during transportation. The service was also great and there where room for small toilet breaks during transportation. We were on time during the whole tour and even arrived a bit earlier back in Bucharest as our group was precise with the deadlines given by Serban.

Although there were a lot of mountains (and hair pin turns) Peter was a very professional driver and nobody on the tour got sick.
We would highly recommend taking this tour with Travel Makers (and especially Serban and Peter) to other visitors.

In addition to an excellent knowledge of history of Romania and both castles, as well as skillful organization of all nuances of the tour by itself, I want to emphasize the huge heart, self-control and patience of our tour guide Matthew. I booked this tour at the time when the COVID test for entry back to the United States was mandatory and I had no other time to take it but before the tour, as it had to be taken during the last 24 hours. Matthew had no hesitation and immediately agreed to stop for 5 minutes at the lab to let me take the test. Unfortunately, it look a little more than that to find the lab, even though it was on our way out of the city.

If not Matthew's decision, I wouldn't be able to make this tour, which would absolutely devastate me as I overcame a lot to get to Bucharest. I can not express enough my gratitude to Matthew and the whole team of TravelMaker Bucharest Day Tours in general for the wonderful ethics of "no client left behind".

These guys have a very strong respect to client's needs which I am sure will pay them back in a long run in the most generous way!

Thank you again and I will plan to book another tour from TravelMaker Bucharest the next time I am visiting the country.

Took the day trip tour from Bucharest. Our tour left promptly in the morning and was excellent! Serban was a very knowledgeable guide and had a great sense of humor which made the ride enjoyable.

The tours to the various sites were great and the day was organized really well. There is enough time to see the highlights and do a small amount of independent exploring at each location. Serban is very focused on being on time and keeping the day moving along... and you have to be with 12 hours and 16 people.

The only recommendation would be to find an extra few minutes and include the second level of Peleş castle.

It was fun and very informative experience to go on this trip with Serban. He picked us up right on time and first he drove us around Bucharest explaining the historical significance of several areas of town. He had many stories to tell, and always had a joke to go along with them making the environment in the vehicle very light and fun. On our way to the castles and Brasov he told stories about the history of Romania and had a lot of fun facts to add about eveything we saw.
At Peles he took us through the castle room by room and was able to tell a story about nearly every room we were in, and the same goes for Bran caslte. In Brasov he walked us down to the Christmas markets and let us wander before moving on in the tour.
At the end of the day he made sure to get us as close to our hotel as possible, along with the other folks in the vehicle.
If you are looking for a tour guide to Transylvania that really knows his stuff, Serban is your guy.
If you are Serban's boss, he deserves to have his salary doubled.

The 12-hour day tour to Bran, Peles castles & Brasov was made ten times more fun by our guide plus driver - Horia. He's such a cool guide, besides having Romania's history on his fingertips , he was full of wit & humour and easily made the whole group laughed from beginning till the end of this tour! We enjoyed listening to him as history of the places became even more interesting. Peles castle was impressive, Bran castle was fun to visit and Brasov& the Black church have their charms. Lunch at Brasov was great with Horia's recommendation. We highly recommend asking for Horia for any of TravelMaker's tours as he can certainly enhance the joy of any day trip!
