About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- 567martineh0 contributionsWonderful visit with Karlo .We had an amazing time visiting Zagreb with Karlo .. He is so knowledgeable about the city . I would recommend him as a guide to anyone wishing to visit this lovely Capital.Written October 5, 2024
- 567martineh0 contributionsThe best tour.We did two tours with Karlo from Bespoke Croatia and we had a phenomenal time. Two couples from the U.S. Karlo s English is excellent and what a nice genuine gentleman. Reliable and knowledgeable, he took us through Zagreb and it's History. On the second day we had requested to visit Plivice National Park an all day tour from Lagreb. The vehicle he provided was top notch and the visit was amazing. He treated us to a lovely lunch of the local fares. We recommend him very highly.Written October 4, 2024
- TonyTraveler20100 contributionsHighly Recommended - Good Communication From Booking To the End of our Tour.Karlo met our group of four English language seniors at our hotel in Zagreb at precisely the reserved time with a friendly and welcoming smile. He started the tour with information about the rich history of our hotel, The Esplanade. He guided us along a beautiful route through parks, past gorgeous fountains and into squares of Zagreb that was made more interesting with his effective use of graphics and images on his iPad. Karlo was pleasant, well informed, enthusiastic and attentive. He was very careful with his pace and found WCs whenever needed. At the end of a tour with Karlo I think you can expect to feel that his fee has been well earned and that you are glad you hired a guide to discover Zagreb from the perspective of a local.Written October 2, 2024
- ricardomV9837PE0 contributionsNever miss CroatiaOne of the most caring person I ever met. Since he picked us up in Pula to driving us to Zagreb and then showing us the wonderful paradise in Plitvice. Super host, super guide and super person. My family and I enjoyed a lot knowing all the croatian culture from a very studied person like Karlo. And, as a plus, we enjoyed the most in the picnic he offered us in Plitvice with local and farm to table food. Amazing! Karlo is the right person if you go to Croatia and want to know it detailed! Thanks Karlo!Written September 25, 2024
- JSCKDC0 contributionsBeautiful tour with lots of flexibilityThis was our second tour with Karlo and we will book a third if we get the chance to return to Croatia. This full day tour was exactly as described with flexibility throughout as desired. We navigated rain to get most of the plan completed as best able. A second guide joined us in Slovenia which was a great touch to have a local expert.Written September 25, 2024

He was also great at answering all the questions about Croatia that we’d stored up! Would thoroughly recommend.Written September 7, 2024
- kathylai2070 contributionsHighly recommendedWhen we started our journey from Zagreb to Ljubljana, there was heavy rain and thunderstorm, thanks for Karlo we arrived Ljubljana safely. We had a great time in Ljubljana old town, a short but detailed walking tour was given, then we enjoyed our free time and had a great lunch. For Lake Bled, apart from enjoying the magnificent view of the lake from Bled Castle, we also enjoyed a coffee break on the lakeside. Due to our packed schedule, once again we tailored our destination to Graz. We really appreciate the flexibility Karlo gave us. Highly recommended.Written September 2, 2024

- kathylai2070 contributionsOne of the greatest experience in Croatia.Karlo is experienced and professional, very informative and everything can be tailored. We asked for a pick up in Split, Karlo prepared snacks and cold sports drinks for us. We had a guided walk and beautiful photos were took inside Plitvice lakes national park, a little picnic with homemade ham and cheese also amazed us. Before heading to Zagreb, we made a stop in Rastoke, whole journey was safe and wonderful. I really recommend this route or vice versa for people who want to transfer between Split and Zagreb and visit Plitvice lakes.Written August 26, 2024

- kirolosb20230 contributionsSee Croatia from the locals! My wife and I went on this tour during our honeymoon and let me say it was a beautiful experience. From the start we felt the hospitality from Karlo as he not only drove us from location to location but shared his experiences, knowledge, and passion for traveling along the way! The tour took us to places we surely would have missed out on if we tried to do it on our own. Karlo was a great host and we hope to meet again in the future, perhaps for a new itinerary!Written July 30, 2024
- Andrew M0 contributionsExcellent walking tourWe had an amazing tour of Zagreb with Josipa. We have been on many walking tours across the world, and this was one of the best. Josipa was so friendly-she even brought us local treats to begin the tour. She had a perfect mix of enthusiasm, deep knowledge of the history, local insights as a resident, and the right level of detail. We ended up going for almost 3 hours (longer than planned) and could have spent more time with her. Highly recommended!Written July 20, 2024

Karlo was a fantastic tour guide. It's evident he's passionate and very knowledgeable about Zagreb and Croatia as a whole.
The walking tour itself was very comprehensive. My partner and I learnt so much about Croatian history and about the city of Zagreb. There were only three of us in the tour, which meant we got a lot of chance to ask questions and have general chit-chit with Karlo.
The tour lasted four hours in the end. Some might be concerned by the length, but we found that it didn't feel too long at all. Karlo was engaging throughout and the time flew by.
For those wanting a tour of Zagreb that goes into the history, politics, architecture and various cultural aspects about the city and Croatia (with some interesting relevant personal stories thrown in), I definitely recommend this tour.
If my partner and are I looking to arrange other tours (not just walking, but park tours, etc.), we will definitely be in touch with Karlo.
Thanks for the fun/interesting evening Karlo!

Karlo is a great guide, we really enjoyed the walking tour. His English is perfect and well understandable. At the beginning Karlo greeted us with hot tea and seat cushions so that we could comfortably sit down on one of the park benches near the meeting point. We had just arrived in Zagreb that morning and - as we've never been to Croatia before - we didn't know much about the city or the history and culture of Croatia. Karlo provided us with all relevant information in a very interesting and entertaining way. We walked around the city centre and got a great overview of all sights. The time with him passed quickly - too quickly. The tour was the perfect start for our stay in Zagreb, thanks a lot Karlo! We can absolutely recommend it :)

We had a brilliant time with Karlo walking around the wonderful city of Zagreb. Karl was VERY entertaining and knowledgeable with loads of amusing anecdotes and observations plus loads of fascinating history. We loved it.
Karl took us to some different places from the usual tourist attractions, which we just loved. Especially all the cool bars and restaurants which we visited later on in the evening, pretending to be young thirty year old again...if only.
Thanks for a great time Karlo and I'm sure we will be back.

Karlo is a kind and passionate tour guide. He not only had a genuine knowledge of the history of Zagreb, he shared his personal viewpoint and perspective as a native. His tour interspersed culture, history, with some interesting stories of folklore and present day life. He also used a ipad to show us former historic parks and buildings. Also, I am terrified of funicular’s and he walked up the steep steps with me as the others took the funicular.
We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to the Dolac market , where we tasted delicious cheese and liquor. Karlo recommended a
wonderful restaurant for lunch and my husband and I agreed it was the best restaurant we had in Croatia (Stari Fidjker). I highly recommend Karlo’s tour !

Dear Denise,
Thank you and Tom for joining me on this tour. Even more for writing about your great experience. Our small group of 6 was just perfect. I am also happy everybody got along and a cohesion formed. It was not a problem at all to walk with you on the stairs. As long as you felt safe and comfortable. The restaurant that I recommend, everyone loves and I am happy you did too. Until next time!
Kind regards,
Karlo

This is one of the best walking tours I've been on. It was awesome, especially for the price!!! Karlo is friendly and charismatic, and the best type of tour guide: he loves his city and sharing it with others. He was easy to talk to and answered all questions thoroughly. I came away with an appreciation for Zagreb, and Croatians. Things you cannot learn from a tourist maps.
Also, he and his wife are an independent company, so by booking with Karlo, you are supporting a local and getting a more personalize experience for a better price.
Yes, you should book this tour. 🇭🇷 cheers!

Our tour guide Karol was very friendly, personable, professional, and helpful. He gave us a great overview of their history and what events led to the country they have today. His English is excellent and easy to understand. His grandfather was an avid photographer and he showed us pictures of how the city looked like prior to WWII. He shared interesting stories, their customs, traditions, and local superstitions along the walk. For the amount he charged, it is a true value.

From the moment I booked the tour I knew I made the right choice. Karlo took the time to send a personal message from informing me about everything I needed. The day before he also updated us on the weather report, so that we were dressed appropriately and ready.
Karlo started the tour off by introducing himself and then got the group to do the same, I enjoyed this as it brought us more together, to enjoy the experience as one.
From start to finish Karlo was a professional. A very informative tour, I also enjoyed the fact he brought an iPad so that he could so us pictures of elements more clearly and helped bring the history to life.
When I return I will definitely be looking to book a tour with Karlo. You will not regret this booking.

Thank you for this great review and the WhatsApp message I received with all the praises. It makes me very happy that you enjoyed the experience. All of 3 couples that were on the tour were very friendly and a great cohesion had formed. From all of the guests I am getting a very positive feedback from using the iPad and thank you for contributing as well. I am looking forward next time you and Jemma visit Zagreb. We will share again some great memories. Also, all the best in both of your careers!

Karlo was a most personable and knowledgeable guide. His explanations were very clear and it was obvious he enjoys what he is doing. He provided us with a complete and comprehensive history of Croatia and Zagreb. He used an IPad to make it more understandable as well as showing us photographs of the way things looked years ago. I cannot recommend him more strongly and know you would be pleased.
