          Worth a visit
Rosen was an interesting and knowledgeable guide and driver. Lena, our guide in Macedonia, was enthusiastic and informative. Skopje is an interesting city showing the difference of the modern buildings in the centre erected after the big earthquake 60 years ago against the older buildings which were left standing. Mother Theresa's memorial house was an excellent tribute to her life. The Bazaar was full of stalls and shops and the people were very friendly.

          Great trip to visit Plovdiv
If you arrive in Sofia for a few days don't miss the opportunity to visit Plovdiv. The trip is about 2 hours, the van was comfortable and the driver serve as a tourist guide as well. She was professional and very knowledgeable about the history and traditions of Bulgaria. We spent a good time during the trip. Thanks Maria!

          Unforgettable custom motorcycle tour
Totally recommended! Me and eight friends did a seven day custom motorcycle tour with Adrian as guide. Bulgaria is revelation for those who have only travelled in 'western' countries. Brilliant organisation, communication, accommodation, flexibility, best-in-world biking roads, scenery, culture, food, beer and fun. We have travelled a lot together round the world and this was one of the best yet. Daniel and Adrian are absolute stars. Adrian is an archeologist with a passion for his country and its history - and riding motorcycles. He took us to places we would never have found ourselves. More than that, he instantly became part of the team - and a friend for life. The bikes were great, especially the Yamaha MT-07s, which were perfect for Bulgaria roads - bags of power, super handling and very flexible. Proof indeed that you don't need the latest giant adventure tourers to explore faraway places. In value-for-money terms, the trip was outstanding. The tour cost was way cheaper than most big name companies charge, plus food and drink in Bulgaria is a bargain. Above all, travelling with these guys means you are dealing directly with people who are passionate about what they do. Five stars are not enough!

A fascinating contextualization of the history of Thrace and its position in the history of Bulgaria.
This was a full day, small group, tour into the valley of the roses, which is also known as the valley of the Thracian Kings. If you are interested in the history of Bulgaria, early or modern, then this tour is for you. This amazingly fertile valley with its fields of roses and lavender is also the home to tumulus burial mounds of the Thracian Kings. A longish trip from Sofia provides the time to set the context for what we were about to see. Meto, our guide, was passionate about his subject and was a font of information on the history of the area and of Bulgaria in general. Our conversation covered history, archeology, geography, and economics. Once Meto realized that we were really interested in Thrace and its part in Bulgarian history, he was prepared to give up the lunch break and free time to fit in a visit to two extra tombs. We had seen some of the artifacts relating to the Kings of Thrace in the National Archaological Museum in Sofia, and thus it was a privilege to see the actual tombs and gain an insight into the scale and drama of their creation and the process of their discovery. Even a wet and blustery day didn't dampen our pleasure. This is a long day. The journey from and back to Sophia is three and a half hours each way, but we felt it was well worth it. It is a fascinating, worthwhile tour for those people who are truly interested in contextual history.

          Excellent trip
A picked up promptly by Demo in a Vito van for 8 people. I was the first pick up at 0745 then promptly picked other 7 up and were on our way by 0810. 45 mins on the motorway to single road and then 90 mins to border. All smooth as it was a Sunday. Demo gave us a brief note of places in Sofia and some general history of Bulgaria and also when we were over the border of Macedonia. 10mins at the border to go thought Bulgarian then Macedonian crossing with a toilet stop prior to the border and and then another hour and 45 to Skopje with another 10’mins stop for coffee and toilet 15 mins to our drop off at the holiday inn. He called the Skopje guide in advance and we met her at 1040 Macedonian time or 1140 Bulgarian time. We then walk around the riverside, the mother Theresa house where we had a brief intro by the staff there. Then to the arch de tromp followed by the main square and then old bridge followed by the old bazaar. We then walked upwards to the pasha Mustafa mosque where we could have a short visit inside . Women were scarfs for their hair. We then walked up to the fortress and walked on the walls and then back down to the bazaar where our tour ended at 1240. We had two hours self exploration time. The journey back was smooth , border took a bit longer than the morning. In total it’s 4 hours travel there, 4 hours in Skopje which is adequate, two of which is on a guided tour, and two own time and 4 hours back. The two hours might just let you fit in one or two museums if you had lunch in the go.

Great way to spend a day from Sofia
Great way to spend a day from Sofia. The hotel pick up and drop off is very convenient. Driver was on time and both he and the tour guide were very patient and friendly. Tour itself was just okay, some interesting facts on Bulgarian and Serbian history but nothing you couldn’t find via Google. We visited the Medina archaeological site, Skull tower and Nis fortress in Serbia; however guide was unaware of the Nazi concentration camp site’s closing time so we missed visiting this site on the tour. He however chose a good spot for lunch opposite the Nis fortress and we returned to Sofia in good time. A long interesting day which could have been topped only by visiting all the promised sites within the package. Would however recommend.

10/10, highly recommend this day trip to experience a different region of Bulgaria and learn about the diverse history
An amazing day trip from Sofia, with my fantastic and extremely knowledgeable guide Meto. I ended up being the only one on the tour and appreciated the opportunity to ask Meto all the questions I had about Bulgarian history, culture and film - he’s like an encyclopaedia! All the stops on the tour were beautiful, fascinating and diverse, and the afternoon in Plovdiv was fantastic - what a lovely city. Highly recommend this trip when visiting Sofia to experience a different region of Bulgaria outside of the city centre and hotspots.

          Wonderful day trip!
Our tour guide, Metodly, was wonderful -- engaging, knowledgeable, and fun. We learned about ancient Thrace and about modern Bulgaria. In addition to touring the tombs and other sites, he took us to an archaeological museum and led us to the most interesting historic (and prehistoric) artifacts. It's great to visit a museum with someone who already knows the collection and can direct your attention to key items. He has a love for history and ancient culture, so the tour was never dull.

          Fascinating history and beautiful scenery
This day trip was packed with historic places that we'd never heard of before -- and that were truly worth seeing. Plovdid was the first surprise -- one of the oldest continuously occupied cities in the world. The neighborhood walking tour was interesting, but the Roman ruins were fantastic. The city shopping area, complete with ruin of an ancient Roman amphitheater, was so cool. We went up a mountain to Asen's fortress- a medieval fortress and church perched so high in the mountains that you cannot imagine how anybody ever managed to live there. Bachkova monastery is a feast for the senses. We must apologize for not remembering our guide's name. (I want to say Maria, but I'm probably wrong.) But she was terrific. We learned so much about Bulgaria, and enjoyed amazing scenery all day.

          Good introduction to Northern Macedonia.
I enjoyed this trip and thought it was a very good introduction to the recent history of Northern Macedonia. Our Macedonian tour guide provided a really helpful overview and showed us all the main sites in Skopje. It’s a long day of travelling from Sofia (4 hours each way) but I felt it was worth it. The tour is well organised and everything ran on time.

I was picked up at my hotel in the morning and taken to where the bikes and gear are kept. Adrian greeted me with a warm welcome and I was quickly outfitted with very nice riding gear. Adrian completed an overview of the trip, a safety brief, and we were on our way. After a short ride through town, we were soon on the highway heading south from Sofia for about an hour. The traffic was light and this was a nice ride. We stopped at a rest stop and Adrian made sure that I was comfortable and that everything was well. After a quick snack and rest, we were back on the highway. After a short ride, we quickly exited the highway and the real fun began!

The ride up the mountain was spectacular! Adrian kept a nice pace and checked on me often (as I had not ridden in a few years). After a 45-minute winding ride up the gorgeous hillside, we arrived at the Rila Monastery. What a beautiful place with a rich history set with high mountain tops in the background. Adrian, who had a tourism degree, provided a detailed account of the amazing story of the monastery from it's beginnings to modern-day.

After a few hours strolling around the grounds, we got back on the bikes and went a short way back down the mountain and enjoyed an incredible lunch at a very nice restaurant and sat right next to a beautiful river. The fresh trout was delicious!

The tour then took a detour to a very nice winery and I purchased four bottles of wine to enjoy with my wife back in the States. This was a beautiful place, set in the vineyards, surrounded by flowers, with the majestic mountains off in the distance.

The last leg was very nice back roads returning to Sofia. Adrian stopped a number of times to point out very interesting aspects from the Soviet era, including an enormous metals factory (miles long), and a portion of the road we were on that, was actually part of an old military runway.

The tour ended nearly 10 hours after it began, back at my hotel. I left the bike and front and Adrian returned later to retrieve it. This was a very professional operation and Adrian could not have been a better guide and riding partner. What an amazing day we had! I can not wait to return to beautiful Sofia and it's amazing people and take another tour with this tremendous outfit! Adrian, as promised, provided a really cool video of our day from his 360 degree HD camera so I may revisit the wonderful experience. Well done!

Daniel ( my guide) and I started in town, but, quickly were able to open the bikes up as we cruised the highway heading south out of town. The fun started as we started traveling on secondary roads and enjoying the rolling hills and green countryside. The best part was the ride on the winding mountain roads up to the Rila Monastery. The Rila Monastery is a sight to be seen, words cannot describe it. Due to my time constraints, I opted to forego the included lunch and ride. Daniel picked and enjoyable and fun route back to Sofia, which included winding country roads and a quick visit to a deserted military airfield and it’s decaying revetments. Wish I had more time available for the full day ride with lunch, but, we departed at 9 am and returned to the hotel at 3 pm and that was a great day!
