With 2 friends visiting from the US, we took this day tour on a Saturday. Not everything went as planned, but the guide and driver were great! In Chiprovtsi, we met with a local artist rather than visiting the museum. She was wonderful in explaining her craft, letting us each sit at her loom and try weaving, etc. She had many beautiful examples of weaving as well. We did not visit the museum but, since I've been there before. I felt this was an equivelant experience. The wine tasting was interesting and we had good explanations, tasting of 4 wines (with snacks) and opportunity to purchase. We also visited an old country church with explanations in English that were quite interesting. Due to recent defacing of the Magura Cave, it was closed and we visited another local cave that was interesting. We also had lunch at a great traditional restaurant in the countryside and visited the Belogradchik rocks and Fortress. Entrance fees were paid and we only had to purchase our lunch and any souveniers. The adventure part came with the van we were riding in breaking down in between sites. We walked a short distance to the church and cave, which was okay since the weather wasn't extremely hot. Another car picked us up to take us to Belogradchik, where we were reunited with the van for the trip back to Sofia. Unfortunately, the van stopped again about 30 minutes from Sofia and we waited for almost 2 hours for a tow truck. The guide and driver were very apologetic and took us home in taxis after dropping off the van. These things happen unexpectedly and we felt they did what they could to make it work, as well as handling the situation with grace. The actual purchased part of our tour was all great and more time than indicated. The additional car adventure was just something that happened.

The Rila Mountain Village Experience is a must do if you really want to taste the Bulgarian authentic lifestyle. Our host was very welcoming and she explained with great passion the story about the bean dish recipe and the ways it can be prepared. The recipe has been passing from generation to generation. The whole lunch was so delicious - much better than in any of the restaurants we have eaten in Bulgaria. You got to see how local people live in their villages, becoming part of their culture! That was really exciting! The off-road mountain trip was totally worth it also since you get to a panoramic view from where all the surrounding mountains are visible. Strongly recommended!

We have visited the Glozhen monastery and Saeva Dupka Cave with this company, and we were very satisfied. When we travelled with them there was no choice for forgotten recipes tasting and now I am really curious to come again and try this. The tour was very well organized, in comparison to the service in Bulgaria in general. The guide was knowledgeable. I liked the idea of exploring places that are rare visited by tourists.Not to mention, the beauty of the region and the amazing views from the monastery. Recommended!

Me and my friends decided to go to Batak lake, during the whole trip we’ve seen extraordinary views and also the degustation was amazing, we enjoyed it so much. If you would like to experience the Bulgarian culture and history this is the trip for you.

We were picked up at the front of our hotel in a nice SUV and began our journey. The tour included a delicious private gourmet lunch. We felt comfortable the entire time and were encouraged to get out and explore when we made stops. We were able to see many places that were devoid of tourists. Lots of scenic views. It was very informative and fun! We felt like we got to see some hidden gems of Bulgaria.

A few friends and I were visiting Sofia for a couple of days. We had a lovely experience touring the city. We were taken across both the modern side of the city and the ancient. Our guide was well acquainted with the city and explained the history behind several of the attractions (e.g. churches) in tremendous depth. More than happy to answer our endless list of questions as well! I would highly recommend!

We took this day trip and it was beyond beautiful. We were surrounded by so much greenery and beautiful scenery. The trip takes you on the narrow gauge railway ride and for those who like history, culture, or would just like to enjoy beautiful scenes, this is the trip for you. Plus, we were guided by an amazing tour guide, who was an art historian and she explained everything we came across clearly and also gave us a little background on Bulgarian history. This trip is highly recommended!
