Our guide, Pavina, spoke excellent English and was very knowledgable. Her summary of Bulgarian history from the Romans to the fall of communism was an eye opener and she was able to point us towards places to visit the following day. My only regret is that we parted in a hurry in the middle of a torrential downpour and I was unable to thanks her properly.

We did a one week private tour in Bulgaria, from Sofia, Veliko Tarnovo, Nessebar and the black sea coast, Plovdiv, Rila monastery and Bansko… plus many other things! Nick was our guide and he is friendly, competent and very flexible with our very many additions to the tour which we asked day by day. Bulgaria is a very nice country deserving a visit. People are friendly and there is a lot of wonderful historical sites. Plovdiv alone is worth the trip, plus lunch at Baba Deshka house has been an unforgettable experience.

Svet met me as I was exiting the baggage claim with a sign with my name on it! He carried my bags to the car and we took off giving me a City Tour before dropping me at the Hyatt Regency.

Vessi met me at my hotel, and we started walking. I asked her where was the car to take me to all the city sights. She explained that this was a walking tour and since my hotel was centrally located, we were going to walk. If my memory serves me, I signed up for a private tour by car. Nonetheless, I was taken to all the sights and Vessi was very knowledgeable about the history of Sofia. One can easily do this tour by yourself if desired. Gesso was wonderful, but having bad knees, I wasn’t prepared to walk all over the city for 2.5 hours and have paid premium price for a car service and driver. Vessi A+. Trip advisor selling points D. I loved Sofia, but was shown the city prior by my airport to hotel driver, and when I met my fellow travelers for a tour of the Balkans, so I really didn’t need this private tour. Check details when booking. This was certainly not worth $108.10.

Our tour guide was very engaging, knowledgeable, and informative. We got a wonderful, comprehensive tour around the whole city of Sofia and we enjoyed learning about both the historic and modern history. Our guide answered additional questions and spoke in very fluent English, which was extremely helpful. We really appreciated the experience and strongly recommend this specific tour for anyone else visiting Sofia!

Excellent hotels in perfect locations. We customized our tour and really enjoyed it all but loved the Razlog area with a thermal springs hotel and we hiked on the Pirin Mountains as a bonus. Our guide, Georgi, was amazing. So knowledgeable about the history and explained things well so we could understand the timeline and different cultures. He was fun and easy going and really made the trip special. Explore Bulgaria. It’s beautiful and less crowded than many European countries with lots of history and wonderful people!

Our tour guide spoke good English and was very knowledgeable about Bulgarian history. He explained things well. We started at the Natural History Museum, which is housed in an ornate building built by the communists when they were in power in Bulgaria after World War II. We then saw many other churches, all different, including a Mosque on our walking tour in central Sofia.

Pavlina gave a great tour and provided so much historical context for the sites we were seeing. I have had the good fortune to take tours in a number of other international cities and this one rates among the very best. She made it personal and relatable - helping you to understand the thinking of the people at the time of all of these historic changes within Bulgaria. I highly recommend Easy Bulgaria Travel!

Great tour with an enthusiastic and outspoken guide. She shares a lot about the divers history and makes the tour really personal with family stories and impact on real people.

I had organized our visit to Bulgaria with Pavlina for May 2020 which, of course, didn’t happen due to Covid. Throughout the initial planning process, the cancellation process and rebooking the trip with a modified itinerary 3.5 years later, Pavlina was great to work with. She created an itinerary that was suited to us, our interest and time constraints. We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 days with Nik. He was knowledgeable, professional, thoughtful, punctual, and a good driver. I would certainly use Easy Bulgaria again for future trips to the countries where Pavlina operates.

I’d previously done the 1st part of our tour in May (18 days) covering Romania & Bulgaria. Part 2 covers Nth Macedonia, Albania, Kosovo, Montenegro, Bosnia, Croatia & Slovenia (20 days) Private tour 6-8 pax. Pavlina orchestrated a wonderful journey. Accomodation was excellent; the places she’d organised to see were nothing short of magnificent. The highlights would be Lake Ohrid (Macedonia), all of Albania especially Valbone, Budva (Montenegro); Plitvice Lakes (Croatia) & Hvar Island (Croatia). Where the 1st part of our tour consisted of driver/guide, this portion included a driver only and guides when required at individual stops, however We did have a guide with us for all of Albania (8 days) and Migen was excellent. One of the best parts of the trip was our driver for 20 days. Xristo is a giant of a man but a Bulgarian teddy bear. Only spoke broken English, but we managed to communicate with each other easily & he was fun to be with. The van was always clean and Xristo was always impeccably dressed (slacks, buttoned shirt). We were really sad when our tour ended and we sent him on his way. An excellent choice by Pavlina. For any journey thru the Balkans and these countries, we give Easy Bulgaria Travel 5 huge stars.
