Sights and knowledge in the Rila Mountains…
Great day in the Rila Mountains with guide Ludomir, a graduate in History from Sofia University. I applaud his knowledge and English communication skills. Safe and comfortable bus ride.

Easy gentle relaxed day trip Feinstein worth going to - especially if you are interested in history, faith and culture
I had a wonderful day trip thanks to the driver ( sorry name not known ) and your guide Vassy. The location was easy to find and the guides information was very informative and with a sense of humour. Also i was very pleased the driver allowed me to charge my phone ( using his space /charging facilities). The journey is absolutely worth it. The scenic views of the mountains are beautiful and helps you to see how local villagers live their life’s. The Rila Monestry is beautiful and holds a breathtaking ambience in the backdrop of the fresh luscious mountains. Also I highly recommend trying the local bread from the bakery. Whilst eating my fresh Easter sweet bread ( Kozunak) and drinking my elderflower and rose hip tea I left my mobile on the bench however remembered later and returned to collect it - exactly where I left it! Not many places on the world you can loose your mobile unattended and find again 🙏 The Boyana Church was quite small - a long journey for a short visit, however if you are really interested in this history then absolutely it is worth a visit. The walled paintings are beautiful and again re- tell the stories either beautiful art work. And the ambience here again is if peace and tranquility sighted in the highest mountains of the Balkans … Over all a good day trip with lots of rest room stops and refreshments along the way. Thank you

          Beautiful monastery.
Definitely worth the drive to get to this incredible monastery. Built in 847, the architecture is truly outstanding. Be aware it is quite difficult to park so some walking may be required.

Amazing tour - thank you Tuni
Amazing tour and great tourgouide. All worked well and we simply had a good time with Tuni. Reccomandable a lot. The drive takes some time (2 hours each dir.) but that's clear from the beginning and we did breaks. Would do it definitely again.

          Great introduction to Sofia!
A wonderful tour of Sofia. Maria was an excellent guide and we learned so much about Bulgarian history and daily life. Thank you Maria for your knowledge and bringing your country’s past to life in such an informative and engaging way. We hope to see you again!

          Greta experience
I did the Walking Tour with Peter, a local guide that I really reccomend. Even if I was alone, he was extremely professional and available in replying to all questions and curiosities. You could perceive the passion for his country!

          Plovdiv, what a pleasant surprise!
We had a wonderful day visiting Plovdiv with Simon. He was very knowledgeable and accommodating. We really appreciated that he taken the time to pre-order a 3-course lunch for those who wanted it, at a charming restaurant in Plovdiv so that we could try Bulgarian dishes, all of which we thoroughly enjoyed. The poor quality PA system on the bus made it difficult to understand Simon, (even for a native English speaker like myself), and in the morning we left Sophia 15 minutes late due to a 'miscommunication'. However, once we were underway, Simon did his best to make our day an enjoyable one. We will definitely visit Plovdiv again to visit more of the city and its museums.

Private Tour is much recommended for a family with children.
It was a wonderful experience- the guide was very knowledgeable and took care of us very well. He was very good with kids. Kept them entertained and answered all their questions. He took care of each and every requests. Definitely recommend the extra money for a private tour.

Based on other reviews I expected more
Let me start my saying that the Monastery is a must see, although much of it has been reconstructed over the years. The tour we booked catered from both English & Spanish speakers, meaning the tour is essentially transport only until you get to your destination. The first stop, about 1.5 hours in, is to enable you to use the facilities and or purchase some food (not expensive) as Rila Monastery only provides very basic facilities and food options. The monastery itself is a must see. Our guide Stanislava (English Speaking) took us on a 45 minute tour and then we had just shy of 1.5 hours to wander around by ourselves. I would say that is just about right. The facilities are indeed basic but food wise you can purchase a few Bulgarian bread treats from the old bake house. After this you come back into Sofia (about a 2 hr drive) to go to the Boyana Church. Unfortunately only 10 people are allowed in at a time, limited to 8 minutes so with 50 people on the coach this takes a while. Whilst this is not the fault of the tour, rules are rules it really needs to be looked at. Overall this is really transport with a tour guide at destination only, as although a guide is on the coach with you, due to the mixed languages spoken there is minimal interaction, it would have been nice to be told something about the country, area, life etc.

          Too expensive, overpriced
We were dropped off at the lake and the mountain but not guided. At the lake you can't see the lake but only trees. The guide was on the phone several times and did not talk much. 130€ for something that was rather a taxi ride than a tour seems overpriced to us.
