- 954deidrec00Fun and safe day trip to SkopjeGreat trip. Very long day. Some travellers made us over an hour late to get to city so we were quite rushed and limited for the tour there. Our border crossing was on the average side-- this can also affect your arrival times --we were lucky. The local guide in Skopje did his best with the shortened time he had. We did take ample time for a quaint sit down lunch. Phillip, the main guide, was a safe driver, helpful, knowledgeable and talkative. We even stopped quickly to see a famous monastery on our return trip. Experienced a beautiful sunset there! I thoroughly enjoyed the day. Hindsight -- I would have loved to spend two days in Skopje and maybe see the nearby lakes. Next time!
- pipg201300Great trip - well worthwhileWe had a great day out entertained by our guide Philip who was most knowledgeable about Bulgarian history and he also Had a great sense of humour. Philip - don’t forget the philosophy of St John who got to know himself in the cave.
- X4755TYchelseab00Awesome day! What a great day! Beautiful sights, our guide Ivon was great! Funny and knowledgeable. Would highly recommend doing this day trip!
- meganhQ1286QJ00Great day tripDefinitely recommend this day trip. Our tour guide Ivan was brilliant and made the day great. First stop on our tour was the Rila Monastery. Ivan pointed us in the direction of all the different bits we could see whilst here and gave us some information about the monastery before leaving us to explore. It's worth knowing that because this is a working monastery you need to be dressed appropriately. Shoulders must be covered and if wearing shorts/skirt/dress your knees must be covered. I wore shorts but brought a pair of leggings to wear on this part of the trip. After this we stopped off for some lunch at a traditional Bulgarian restaurant. My friend and I just had a drink but the location of this place is lovely. The other couple on the trip said the food was lovely too. After this, we went on to see the Geyser and to the thermal spa pools. Again, Ivan was really informative about the area and it's geography. When we got to the pools it was busy and they had stopped letting people in. We had to wait a little while but this wasn't a problem and Ivan was kind enough to allow us more time there to allow for the delay, meaning we didn't miss out at all. There's changing and shower facilities plus bars serving drinks, food and cocktails. You'll need money for entry, for any snacks/drinks and as a deposit for lockers/towels/robes. It was really nice to spend some downtime hear and enjoyed all the different temperatures of the pools. Big thanks to Ivan for making it a great day!
- Michael W00Great day out to NisOur guide, Georgi, was so nice and really knowledgeable. The whole day was great fun and very enjoyable. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it as a full day excursion (we left at 8.30am and returned to Sofia at 8.30pm).
- PhilFire00Worst tour I have ever been on.Worst tour I have ever been on. I have travelled a lot and don’t like to leave bad reviews but it really was shocking, the guide had absolutely no interest in the tour. He gave us very little information and whatever he told us, he seemed disinterested. We arrived at the concentration camp to find out it was closed. The times were clear on it, arrive before 2:30. We arrived at 2:40 and no one was there. As one of the stops on the tour, and some thing we paid to see, he made little effort to try and get us in. I asked him to phone someone, he did but we still couldn’t get in. This is not good enough. If you are paying for a tour, you would assume the guide has rang ahead to ensure everything is open and ready to see. I would not recommend it. It is not worth over €80. When he brought us around the Roman ruins, he didn’t wait for whole group to explain, he rushed through everything. Awful
- T5005FPjess00Scam, no festivalWe booked a Rose festival for Sunday and they drove us around 3h and there was no festival in the city. There was not a single thing related to Rose festival in the city and they left us there anyway for hours. A scam to sell a tour for a festival that was not happening…
- AaronZip00Cave toursWe booked a day trip to Saeva dupka and Ledenika caves with Philip. It was an amazing adventure to explore something different and to get out of the city. Philip was an exceptional host, very knowledgeable, personable with outstanding hospitality and made you feel safe cruising the country side. Highly recommend you book this tour thanks to Philip. A+++
- Lovetohike1237800I would give our tour 10 Stars ⭐️I would give our tour 10 stars ⭐️. My husband and I did Saeva dupka and Ledenika Caves Day Tour from Sofia Bulgaria. Our Guide was Philip. He was so personable and knowledgeable. We learned so much from him about the country of Bulgaria. The caves were absolutely stunning. A must see. With Philip as our guide he made Bulgaria the best out of the 10 Balkan countries we toured this trip. Because we learned so much from him. He advised us the best places for a local experience. Bulgaria is amazing. Thank you Philip for being a highlight of our vacation!
- B2875RJpieterv00Best tour we ever hadThe tour was really nice and our tour guide was the best tour guide we ever had. We didn't know the price of the Thermal baths was not included in the price of the tour, so we had to buy these tickets for an extra 40 lev (€20) per person.
- A2430AJalexanders00Nice tourguide, lots of information about history of Niš and comparisons to Bulgarian historyVery nice and informative tour. Tourguide Filip Konstantinov is very passionate and takes care of every client‘s needs. Was in a small group, was with a very good athmosphere. We saw a lot of Niš in only one afternoon and had enough time for a relaxed lunch all together. Thanks again to Filip.
- Blaque198600Phenomenal PhilipPhilip was a super host in taking us to Skopje. He was so entertaining and he was not only knowledgeable but he really knows how to related to customers. He made us laugh and kept our small group entertained with his banter and most of all his music choice ( I love me some funk music). He also made the day really interactive on the way back as we each had to pick a song to play. Little things like this made our group bond instead of being several strangers on a tour together. No hesitation to recommend Philip at all
- patricklee8600Enjoyable tourGreat tour to get a flavour of northern Macedonia and Skopje. Phillip our tour guide and driver was great and really knowledgeable. Although it’s a long drive, we saw some great scenery. Would recommend this tour
- TravelerJerusalem00Good experience yet a bit too longThe guide Georgi was knowledgable and attentive and the overall experience was good, as the Rila monestary is very special, it's surely worth a visit. Yet the tour was too long - we had too much free time in the monestary and aferwards we stopped in a reataurant for additional hour or so, which extended our tour even more unnecessarily. We could have come back to Sofia two hours earlier.
- millier22900Would definitely recommend! Our guide was really lovely and welcoming, his English was excellent and he was really knowledgeable! Everything was really interesting, especially the concentration camp as we learnt a lot. Was nice to have some time just us two as well to explore serbia and grab some food. Overall had a very enjoyable day and would definitely recommend to everyone!

This trip was at the end of our stay in Sofia so we were a bit over the whole thing. We were ready to go home BUT the driver/tour guide (Ivan) was so nice and so engaging he immediately got us interested. His knowlede of the history of the area was very impressive. We really enjoyed the stories of the rebels and secret strategies employed to defend their lands. We then went to the neolitic village and although it is a very small site, it was very moving. It has been reconstructed with love and the artfacts well preserved. You can even book to stay in one of the reconstructed neolithic hutts.
