Very interesting walking tour about the communist period of Bulgaria, which is often hardly spoken about during other walking tours or in museums.

The tour takes you to important points in the city for this period. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic.

We'd highly recommend the tour.

Amazing tour!
One of the most knowledgeable, informative, and interesting tours I’ve ever taken, anywhere!

Sofia has an incredibly unique, interesting, and sometimes humorous history and the tour does an incredible job of tying the different city landmarks into a cohesive history of the city, and of Bulgaria.

Interesting tour
Aug 2021
A very interesting tour. Dino was an enthusiastic guide who made it fun and interesting. Lots to see and you certainly get to find your way around Sofia. The walking is fine so if your worried about it being 3 hours - the pace is good and you can find places to rest while your guide talks about the communist era in Bulgaria.

Excellent communist tour with Martin
We did the communist tour with Martin and it was excellent. We had a walk around some sights connected to the topic, but most importantly a lot of stories.
Martin is very knowledaable and truly passionate about his city and its history. His way of guiding is engaging and entretaining.

The tour has a good pace, it takes 3 hours with a lot of sights/stops and also a break.
We enjoyed our time and learned a lot.
I highly recommend taking this tour if you are in Sofia and are interested in history.

Best 3 hours you will spend in Sofia
Jul 2021
I took this tour with my wife in 2019. I still remember it till today. It is a absolute MUST for any English speaker visiting Sofia. The guide is funny, informative and generally fantastic. This tour will most likely be the best value for money you can get in Sofia. If your visiting dates do not match up with this tour, you should consider taking the Sofia FREE walking tour (available daily)

Great insight to Bulgaria’s past
This specialised city tour far exceeded our expectations. Vasco was a very enthusiastic tour guide and imparted a great deal knowledge about Bulgaria’s Communist past. Don’t miss this tour. It’s tremendous value for money for those who are interested in this period in time.
