        Falcon's Ferrata
Highlander is a small company but professional. Our guide pick us on time; gave us fruits for the way to Romanjia and told us interesting things about the geography of the region. As well, the used of the equipment was fully explain and they provide us all (rental). We had amazing time! The views are breathtaking and the Falcons route is a nice easy /mentally challenging Ferrata. We totally recommend them and when we will be back in Bosnia for an adventure, surely we will contact them.

Incredible trip to Bosnia’s highest peak
This was the last of a series of hiking trips I did with Highlander Adventures. All of them were outstanding and memorable - Bosnia is a truly stunning country and you couldn’t have a better guide than Kenan. Not only does he have a native-speaker level of English, but he also possesses a wealth of knowledge and a genuine passion for both mountaineering and his country. He doesn’t rush the hikes, so I never felt exhausted (I have a tendency to hike at speed and my biggest takeaway from these trips is that you can accomplish far more by maintaining a steady pace). Kenan also has a talent for storytelling, which adds another element to the hikes - I came away having learned a lot about local history and folklore. The Maglić hike was definitely a highlight - it’s a long day, but the hike isn’t overly demanding and you are rewarded with breath-taking views from the summit (it’s worth the trip just for the view down to the beautiful heart-shaped lake below). Although it isn’t a technical hike, I’m glad to have gone with an experienced guide - not only was it helpful for transport and navigation, but conditions can quickly change and the area is remote, so it is reassuring to be with someone trained in mountain rescue. I couldn’t recommend these guys enough! If you’re interested in a multi-day trip, Prenj (where Kenan is part of the local mountaineering club) is another unmissable area!

On adventure in Bosnia & Herzegovina
"I want to see the mountains" is what I told Kenan. He took me on an 8 days trip and it was the best trip of my life! He took me hiking, climbing, walking barefoot through the river, made sure I ate the best Bosnian food and at the same time telling the history of Bosnia. If you are looking for adventure, he is your man!

        An experience of a lifetime
I went on a group trip through my university for 9 days with our tour guide Kenan. He was very knowledgeable on the history of Bosnia and he made our trip an experience of a lifetime. He took us all around the country and told us stories in every place we visited. Kenan went above and beyond by showing us the city after hours, and even taking us on a ski trip on his day off. If you are considering touring with Highlander Adventures, DO IT! You will not regret it.

Modern history that should never be forgotten
This was an eye-opening experience that put you right in the middle of history. Our guide, Kenan, was extremely knowledgable and informative from sharing history, first-hand accounts, an overall concepts based on the Siege of Sarajevo. i couldn't learn enough.

        University trip done right :)
Kenan made a great trip better. We were welcomed with hospitality and he shared his passion about his country with us. We felt comfortable coming to a place that we knew very little about, and each of us fell in love with each city we went to. He did not seem to mind that we were a larger group on a college trip, but instead shared where the best spots are for us to go. He guided us with kindness and friendliness and also knew how to have a laugh at the right time. Kenan is extremely personable, friendly, and genuine, and even though he gave such a sweet speech that I cried at the dinner table; I would recommend him to anybody traveling to Bosnia and Herzegovina. I hope he remembers the weird American girl that accidentally barked at his friend! I will not be forgetting him.

For a first guided hiking experience I really enjoyed it on so many levels. Kenan was an amazing guide, he wasn't just spilling information there, we would stop and he would tell us passionately stories and facts about the place or even plants that we would find on the way. He would ask us questions and challenge us to make the hike more interactive and us more closely involved in the experience. He's professional and he puts the safety of everybody first. My favourite part was when we were on the top of the mountain at sunset and he told us the story of the village of Lukomir. I would definitely do it again as soon as I am back. If you are ever there, I recommend you to try it! Don't miss it!

We had such an amazing time on this hiking tour! If you are unsure whether to book, do it! Our guide Kenan was so knowledgeable both about the flora and fauna and the culture of the region and went out of his way to ensure we had the best time ever. Lukomir village is wonderful and lunch at the family run restaurant in the village was delicious - and all foraged from the surrounding mountains!
This was most definitely the best part of our holiday (and that’s saying something since we had a long trip with multiple countries!)

This hiking tour was amazing. Hands down the best tour on our trip to Bosnia and Herzegovina. The guide is very easy going, earnest, genuine and caring. He reads the crowd very well and adapts the pace of the tour so that everyone is comfortable. Also, he brings snacks that come in very handy during the tour. The actual hiking route is absolutely beutiful. Breathtaking views all around. The Lukomir village and lunch there is also amazing: the food is very much local, super fresh, and tasty. The lunch was probably one of the best meals of the trip as well. There is plenty of food; just make sure you don't eat too much or coming back can be quite hard. Overall, this tour is a must-see on a trip to Sarajevo.

Our guide Mirza was absolutely fantastic, he collected us from our Airbnb in the morning and drove us up to the mountains. He told us all about the history of the region, the place names and the legends that go with them. We hiked up to Lukomir through some absolutely breathtaking scenery, mountains, valleys, grasslands and native deciduous forest. Every part of the hike was so unique it was like a different country.
In Lukomir we ate a traditional Burek made from cheese and spinach produced by the people in the village and after the meal Mirza treated us to some homemade baklava that his grandmother cooked.
If you travel to Bosnia I highly recommend this hike, we spent a week here but our day trip to Lukomir was the highlight of the holiday!

This all-day hike was a terrific experience. You can tell how much guides care about the experience and sharing that with the guests. We started our hike with an hour long drive to the village of Umoljani where we were greeted with locals selling their homemade products. I bought a jar of terrific raw local honey and we embarked on our hike. About 3 hours later we reached the top which offered terrific views. Then, 30 minutes later we descended into Lukomir which was thee highlight of the visit. Here, we had lunch - local Bosnian pita, juice, yogurt, cheese, and bread. Our guide was gracious enough to bring hurmasice - a traditional Bosnian dessert that his grandmother made! After a brief tour of the village we continued on our path for about another 2.5 hours making our way back to the car. Everywhere we looked offered beautiful views and foliage. Don't miss this unique opportunity to travel in time and experience traditional Bosnian village life!

Definitely a highlight of our travels in Bosnia. The hike was beautiful and Kenan was a great guide to distant and recent history. Lunch in Lukomir was maybe our favorite meal we had in Bosnia. Would recommend to anyone (assuming you’re ready for a full day of moderate hiking).

If I could rate this tour more than 10/10, I would! My husband and I went on the hike to Lukomir Village with Kenan and it was one of our best experiences in Bosnia. The scenery was breathtaking and Kenan was so much fun and had a wealth of knowledge about the area. He was also very flexible with my husband hiking back over the mountains and organizing transport for me to join them after. I highly recommend Kenan and this company!

The hiking tour was absolutely amazing, it was without a doubt the highlight of our trip to Bosnia and Herzegovina. We could not have had a better host than Mirza, he was very friendly and fun. Not to mention he’s a volunteer mountain rescuer, I have never felt in better hands than hiking with him. The views during the hike were absolutely stunning and the village of Lukomir felt very warm and welcoming. The people there were an absolute joy and the food was amazing. If you are unsure because of the price, rest assured it is worth every penny and more!

They were very accommodating and his love for beautiful Bosnia was more than evident. Definitely will be going back to them for more adventures!
