My friend and I did the 6-day tour of Albania. The tour itself and places we went were extremely well chosen and I felt like I was introduced to this country perfectly, even during the off season. Seeing different towns on the coast, world UNESCO sites like Berat and Gjirokastra and staying in hotels that were affordable and historical. We met kind people everywhere and the towns were beautiful. Our tour guide, Skerdi was mostly pleasant and had knowledge of the history and places we saw during our trip. He took us to eat traditional Albanian foods, including Albanias best farm to table restaurant. We even had the pleasure of dining at his family home in Himarë. Overall the trip was a good experience and I am happy to visit Albania. The only recommendation I have is that if the guides join travelers for lunch or coffee they are more engaging and not consistently on social media. I also wish we were provided recommendations for free time activities before leaving us on our own for the day, the guides are the experts and should be making suggestions.

We went on 3 day trips last week through Local Friends Albania. The customer experience right from gathering details, inputs on the tour options was fantastic. This made planning much easier and simple. On to the trips - (1) Kruje and Durres, (2) Belsh lake and Berat and (3) Shkoder lake, drop off in Kotor. We had Elton for (1) and (3), Xeni for (2). They were both very professional, punctual. Communication was great, including getting in touch the previous day to coordinate. They both possess great knowledge of Albania, the places they took us to including some good places for lunch. We never use tour operators, Albania is still developing its tourism infrastructure. Therefore, recommend using a tour operator to get the best of a lovely country with wonderful places, sights, food and friendly people. A step further and I will recommend Local Friends Albania who helped with a great trip for us.

My second tour with Local Friends Albania and Elton. Really good tour where everything was set for me so all I had to do was enjoy the day. It’s definitely a long day which involves a lot of driving (took me exactly 12 hours) but it’s perhaps the best way to see a little bit of Kosovo in one day. Elton took care of me very well and it was very enjoyable to spend the day talking to him.

Local Friends Albania were always very quick to reply to my messages. A day before the tour, my guide/driver Elton messaged to introduce himself. He was a fantastic guide who took care of me very well and was very interesting to talk to. Also his expert driving was very impressive going up and down the steep hill of Berat Castle! This was my first of two day tours and it was fantastic. I didn’t need to think about anything and Elton managed the timing. This day tour is a good and easy way to see a little bit of everything.

My tour guide was called tony, he was a great tour guide! He showed me around the town and the food was lovely. The trip was really fun and Prizren was beautiful!

Amazing! Juliano (hope the spelling is ok) was great. Very friendly, we had a great time - but needed a jumper for the mountain, will know for next time. Waterfall amazing, very beautiful place, unspoiled. Very tasty lunch. Thank you so much

Would highly recommend taking this trip if you are going to Albania for a short time. It was an amazing tour with them, we get to experience the local culture and got to know about the rich history of Albania. Our guide Xhuljano was very informative and definitely knew what he was talking about.

I was looking for a way to try and see Kosovo in one day while I was in Albania and this tour was the perfect way for me to do it! A big thank you to my driver + tour guide Xhuljano. He did a wonderful job driving me to and showing me around the cities Prizren and Pristina in Kosovo. He picked me up a bit after 7 am from my Tirana hotel due to traffic but that was ok. It took us about 2 hours to reach Prizren where we spent about 1 hour. After we visited Prizren he drove us about another hour to Pristina, the capital of Kosovo. We spent about 2 hours in Pristina doing a walking tour guided by him with some additional time being spent at a local restaurant for lunch that he recommended which was excellent! After we ate lunch, Xhuljano proceeded to drive me back to Tirana which took a little over 3 hours in total. Xhuljano was a great guide, very knowledgeable and I enjoyed hearing his insight on everything we talked about during this tour. So all in all, this was a great experience to end my trip in Albania with. When you’re visiting Tirana I highly recommend this tour to see Kosovo! You’ll love it! - Nolan

What a truly memorable day filled with history and fantastic detail about Albanian life. Great communication before day too. Great to have a local driving too. You will not regret taking this trip, just do it.

Had an amazing time traveling and exploring with friends. Our tour guide, Skerdi, was an excellent host and very knowledgeable – I left the trip smarter than when I arrived! The trip route was well organized and we’ve spent just the right amount of time at each location. Will definitely book through this company on my next visit to Albania and the Balkan Region!

Skerdi and Local Friends of Albania are the best tour company in the West Balkans. I had the honor and privilege to travel with Skerdi for a second time on a custom tour through Albania, Kosovo, and North Macedonia. We did the 4-day private tour and we learned so much about the history of Albania in various regions. It was hard for our 9-year old to grasp the significance of the history, but our 13-year old absorbed a lot of information. Staying at the Castle Hotel in Berat was a highlight for all of us.

This was my third excursion with Local Friends Albania. Had previously visited Prizren in Kosovo, Berat, and Ohrid in North Macedonia. From first contact via WhatsApp to the day of the tour itself, Skerdi and Xhulijo were awesome. Highly knowledgeable not just on the surface but on deeper questioning. They know their stuff! Highly recommend - particularly Skerdi’s singing ….. 😎

We thoroughly enjoyed the long day-trip to Durres and Berat despite the really hot day. Our driver/guide Franko was courteous, informative and a pleasure to be with. We were particularly impressed with the beautiful town of Berat.

Superb, very informative tour with Xhuljio to the South of Albania. I learned so much about the culture and the area. We had a very long wonderful day that truly flew by. Hugely recommend Local Friends Albania for fantastic communication and a wonderful, memorable tour.
