- jamesmY5103LJ0 contributionsIncredible Tirana tourWe had an incredible day with Elton our guide. Elton was both amiable and very informative as we spent the whole day touring Tirana, a fascinating city. There were many highlights including opportunities to meet and engage local people and hear their stories. A visit to the Albanian studios movie archive was a real privilege and it included a private viewing of a once banned film. By the end of the day we really felt that we had got to know Tirana and it's people really well. We did a socialist-realism art tour, we are very keen to return and do other tours that this company offer. Thankyou for a wonderful experience!Written November 26, 2024
- andydP8359YI0 contributionsAwesome 8-Day Custom Eco-Friendly Tour!We set up a custom 9-night tour for 4 with Albanian Trip, combining some popular spots with a good number of off-the-beaten path areas. It was a great introduction to the country with a very knowledgeable and accommodating guide / driver. Albanian Trip knows the country from top to bottom, and we had excellent communication throughout the trip-planning process. For us, nature and "getting local" were priorities, and Albanian Trip delivered 100% with welcoming hosts in small villages and national parks. All this at a cost comparable with a boring bus tour, and less expensive than many other areas in Europe. Lake Prespa and the new'ish Prespa National Park was a sleeper hit with amazing scenery, almost no tourists, and incredible 13th century Byzantine frescoes in a island-cave chapel. Sleeping with shepherds in Tragjas was more upscale than we were expecting, but nonetheless very genuine with everything- from fire-roasted goat, to eggs, to garden vegetables from the farm. Troughout, the food and meals were amazing and very local. Staying in Zogaj on Shkroder Lake was beautiful, with incredibly tasty local-caught fish. Rather than just tramp around Kruje, we hiked up an ancient path to a Bektash teqe, learning about this fascinating religion. And rather than admire the Lake Koman's Shala River, the Haxhi Aliu cave on the Karburuni penninsula, and the Ionian Sea, we dove in! Granted, in mid-October the water was a bit cool, but the weather was great and water clean and refreshing. Berat, Shkroder, and a peek of Tirana were interesting as well. All the places to stay were great -- all helping the local economy, with many only having a couple of rooms. Impressive to see Albanian Trip helping Albanian families thrive with responsible tourism that respects local trades and features tasty homegrown food. Gazur! -Andy with L, T & JWritten November 3, 2024
- EandC200 contributionsWonderful and unique exploration of AlbaniaOur group of 4, two couples, had an amazing 8 day exploration of Albania with our super-knowledgeable and first-rate guide and driver, Toni. Our experience with Albanian Trip, from initial inquiry and back-and-forth developing an itinerary with Vilma, to our goodbye at the Tirane airport was all very positive. Highly recommend Albanian Trip if you are interested in a custom trip that highlights special places off the beaten path as well as small locally-owned hotels in some of the bigger cities. Hard to list highlights because there were so many. Here are just a few: sunset and sunrise while drinking homemade pomegranate juice from the balcony over Lake Shkodres, watching the local fishermen in Zogaj, eating fresh catches of the day, exploring ancient castles and historic sites like Apollonia, delicious multi-course gourmet farm to table meal at Mrizi i Zanave along with a tour of their wine and cheese operations, swimming in the River Shala and the Adriatic and Ionian Seas, seeing Dalmation pelicans and a recently restored monastery tucked in a limestone island in Lake Prespa, local fruit, olives and homemade raki virtually everywhere we went, learning the process of traditional qilims artistry, watching herders care for their flocks in rugged terrain, drinking my 2 favorite beverages -- mountain tea (made from the herb sideritis raeseri) and dhalle (refreshing unsweetened yogurt drink). Our experience was always enhanced by Toni's knowledge, his ability to translate during conversations with locals, his passion for the history, culture, and traditions of Albania, and connections with many friendly interesting people in Albania.Written November 1, 2024
- jeanettebC4747RU0 contributionsCustomized itinerary a perfect matchMy husband and I with our two friends had a very positive experience with Albanian Trip during a customized, private tour of Albania with an excellent guide/driver. Vilma was incredibly helpful and responsive as we developed our customized our itinerary that focused on authentic experiences in less frequently visited areas. Our guide/driver is extremely knowledgeable about all things Albania. He gave us the opportunity to experience Albania and the very welcoming Albanian locals at villages and farms off the beaten track. Highlights included the excellent tour of the cheese caves and wine cellar at Mrizi Zanave followed by an amazing dinner made from their local products, and meeting the weaver Nebije Qotaj in the tiny fishing village of Zogaj. I definitely recommend Albanian Trip to anyone interested in exploring Albania but unsure where to start.Written November 1, 2024

- mint19870 contributionsSuffocating.... drown in bad attitudeI took this private tour, making it clear that I will be filming documentary about the topic. Vilma is the first one who reply but she didn't have any idea of the trip and took a while to pass me on to her college, Elton Elton seems to understood what I wanted and said ' we've worked with journalist, youtuber and influencer before, we knows how it's done and will provide you with the proper guide for the job' The priced changed 3 times more and more, 5 mins said including lunch, 5 minutes later not. I didn't mind and agree to pay as Im running out of option. The next morning of the pick-up, Vilma got the name wrong as there were 2 similar hotels which wouldn't be a big deal if she, instead of fixing and be a bit apologetic, but she chose to blame me for her mistake and kept texting me nonstop like I owned this trip to her as she did me a favor and so on and so I blocked her and unlocked again cuz I need the invoice lol. My guide was always in a bad mood, he crashed the car into the fence and cursed multiple times and kept cursing. He told me in a very rude way to not put his face in the video which I respected and didn't do it. Although I assumed otherwise as I was very transparent about this trip since the beginning and informed people who needed ti be informed. His Word choices could be improve as he was very very rude. But lucky him, I did tip or not I don't know hahaha cuz he sent me a thank you message for the tips. Maybe I accidentally did as I've been traveling for few weeks and got tired 😀 Elton later told me that u should have told him...well with the hot hated guide who had to drive you to remote places and you a solo female... I wouldn't lol Overall experience is -100 however I got what I need only in a very rough manner possible. It's hard to talk to guide as well although very knowledgeable but very rough and rude. His attitude of know it all and he's better than anyone else is very suffocating. Well this is my personal experience.Written September 12, 2024
- ori6090 contributionsThe Most Epic Adventure We Couldn’t Have Dreamed of Ourselves! WOW!WOW! That’s the only word to describe our experience with Toni, Vilma, and their amazing team at Albanian Trip. This was, hands down, the best family vacation we’ve ever had – and trust me, this wasn’t the kind of trip you can plan on your own! From day one, it was clear that we were in for something truly special. We stayed in a perfect mix of charming guest houses and some truly amazing hotels, offering the best of both worlds – from the simplicity of local life to the fancy comfort of top-tier accommodations. It was a seamless blend of authenticity and luxury. The adventure didn’t stop there! We explored hidden canyons, chased waterfalls, and cruised through secret water caves by boat. Every twist and turn revealed a new jaw-dropping landscape, whether it was the majestic mountains, serene lakes, or the breathtaking turquoise waters of the Ionian Sea. It was like stepping into a new dream every day. And let me rave about the food for a second – every meal was an adventure of its own! Whether in the cozy guest houses or at a fine hotel restaurant, Toni and Vilma made sure we experienced the rich, flavorful heart of Albanian cuisine. The coastal cities we visited had such a lively, energetic vibe – the perfect blend of beach relaxation and cultural immersion. Our kids loved every second of the trip, and my wife and I were just as enchanted. This was more than just a vacation – it was a thrill-packed adventure that exceeded all our expectations. If you’re even thinking about visiting Albania, stop thinking and book with Albanian Trip now! Toni and Vilma will give you an adventure that will blow your mind – you’ll be talking about it for years. Five stars aren’t enough for this epic experience!Written September 7, 2024
- MaykeMoraes0 contributionsAmazing private tour!!!!My fiancée and I had an incredible experience with Albanian Trip during a private tour of Tirana with the excellent guide Elton, who is an extremely polite person, fluent in English, and possesses vast knowledge about everything related to Albania. Thanks to him, we experienced a true cultural immersion, tasting authentic flavors in places only locals know. We visited hidden markets, local restaurants, places off the tourist route, and even the home of an Albanian family who welcomed us as if we were part of their family. There, we had the opportunity to learn more about the daily lives of the locals. We did extensive research before choosing Albanian Trip, and we firmly believe that our decision couldn’t have been more right, so much so that we plan to do more tours with them across the country. Therefore, if you’re looking for a true and authentic experience, Albanian Trip is undoubtedly the best choice.Written September 4, 2024

I selected Albanian Trip because they offer really interesting and unique tours in Albania and also offered the possibility of a group tour, which, as a solo traveler on a budget, was appealing to me. The more people that sign up, the cheaper the tour will be per person. No one else signed up for the tour, so I enjoyed a private tour of Ancients and Ottomans with Elton, one of the owners of the company. He was a very informative and personable guide and I learned a lot about Albanian culture and history. I am hopeful Albanian Trip can tap into the growing hostel network in Tirana to be able to offer group tours to the increasing number of backpackers making their way to Albania. I'd love to see their tours more accessible to more travelers!

Our experience with Albanian Trip was outstanding from first contact with Mr. Elton Caushi by email to arriving at our destination. Mr. Caushi responded promptly and throughly to our initial inquiries. He provided us with all of the information necessary to make a confident booking decision. Our driver, Mr. Ervin Budo, was excellent. He arrived on time, was friendly, helpful and courteous. He is a very safe driver and has a kind disposition. His English is excellent and we were very comfortable to be in his care.
Albanian Trip provides an excellent service at a fair price and we will call on them again when we come to Tirana. We highly recommend Albanian Trip to others who are looking for a car and driver or guide for a trip in Albania.
We are happy with the service provided and for their all around professionalism.

Dear Marjorie!
We loved being in touch with you. The little amount of communication we had was of a real high quality. Ervin had the best impressions from the few hours he spent with you. Many thanks for having chosen us.

We have just completed a seven-day guided tour of Albania organised by Albanian Trip. This included visits to Ohrid in North Macedonia, the old towns of Berat and Gjirokastër returning to Tirana along the Ionian and Adriatic coasts, staying in Sarandë and Vlorë. The scenery was stunning, with steep, jagged hills, and old towns built into the hill sides and the return along the coast was through attractive villages and over high passes had fantastic views.
Our guide, Ervin Budo, not only spoke excellent English and had an extensive knowledge of the many fascinating historic sites we visited but was also a careful driver which was particularly reassuring given the steep and narrow roads on some of the routes through the mountains. In the towns and sites we visited we saw the influence of Greek, Roman and Ottoman building, as well as the legacy of Ali Pasha. Ervin also showed us around Tirana, with visits to Bunk Art 2 and the Block which helped explain the transition from the previous communist era.
The hotels were clean and comfortable, and in several cases family run, all in great locations and most equating to a UK 3 star standard. The Mangalemi hotel in Berat deserves special mention as it was particularly well renovated, had welcoming staff and excellent food. The cost of eating out is much lower than in the UK, although top quality food comes at a slightly higher price - we had a very good traditional Albanian meal at Mullixhiu in Tirana and excellent seafood in Sarandë and Vlorë.
Albanian Trip were easy to deal with from our first contact and were quick to answer any questions. Our tour was largely pre-planned, but also very flexible; Ervin was patient and very accommodating – always happy to tailor the itinerary to match our interests, including an unplanned visit to a winery. Ervin’s knowledge and local contacts certainly made our visit run very smoothly and gave us a deeper understanding of the country. We would certainly recommend a visit to Albania using Albanian Trip.

It's my first time in Europe, and getting to see Albania with Toni was truly a pleasure. I was nervous about going solo, but I left feeling like I made a friend not only in Toni but in the people he spoke with along the way. He's knowledgable, passionate, and fun. He made me feel like a local even though I speak no Albanian, and made sure to give me the historical context for everything we saw and did. I can't recommend him enough. If I could give more stars I would! Thanks Toni for an unforgettable day!

This was an exceptional trip up into the hills of Apollonia to seek out Greek ruins, Byzantine churches, museums and excavations, each of which were incredibly impressive, followed by a wonderful tour of Berat and some excellent local cuisine.
The amount of history, insight, food and culture that the host was able to pack into a single day far exceeded my expectations.
I've since booked further trips with them, each of which has been fulfilling beyond measure. Highly recommend this tour company, and this tour in particular.

A group of us were in Albania for the Wales game but wanted to see more than just the football so booked a tour on our 'spare day'. The booking process was very easy and Ervin met us at our Hotel to start our day. From the beginning Ervin & our driver were great to get on with and we were all soon chatting like old friends as we learned about the recent history of Albania on the drive to Apollonia. The tour was so much more than we expected, unrushed with lots of information and enthusiasm. When we stopped for lunch in Berat it was in a family run cafe and though the owners had only got married the day before they were great hosts, filling our table with all manner of delicious local dishes, not just what we ordered from the menu.
The highlight for me was stopping in the middle of nowhere to see a cold war bunker which was maintained by the ancient Jamal on the corner of his land. Such a lovely guy, he introduced us to his donkey and joined us for a group photo (attached to this review) before waving us on our way like we were family. It was so endearing to see such enthusiasm after what he must have endured in the recent past of his country.
When I go away I always try to book guided tours & this tour was by far the best I have experienced, if/when I return to Albania I will surely plan my holiday around some tours with Albania Trip. Thanks guys.

Our stay in Tirana was awesome, thanks to Albaniantrip.com. Elton and Vilma responded promptly to all my inquiries via email and FB messenger so convenient!! Ancients and Ottomans full day tour with Irvin as our guide was the BEST choice. We were picked up from the Lobby at our Hotel, the vehicle was very roomy and comfortable.
Irvin was local and had tons of information about Albania as well as connections with the local people everywhere we stopped. It was very interesting to learn about his experiences in Albania as well about the sites that we visited. He took care of entrances, local guide at the museum all details and more were covered. We had a very special visit with a local resident in OLD Berrat, sweetest little lady who graciously cooked a meal from her local supplies, we purchased some of her hand knitted wool slippers :) He even made a stop in Durres for a night view of the Roman amphitheater, which wasn’t part of our tour and a true delight. We left behind our thermos, the next day it had been delivered to the front desk at the hotel, they go above and beyond! I highly recommend Albaniantrip.com services and tours Irvin was an awesome guide!!
