About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Jo_lee19830 contributionsNot bad experience, recommend other tour operatorsPros: on time with collection from the hotel, some knowledge of height during journey and flowers / plants. Was willing to cater to a drop off at a different destination Cons: driver could have been more friendly and welcoming, he didn't seem very happy and we had to ask questions to learn more about where we were and the historyWritten September 12, 2024
- Vacationer952850 contributions4WD ALL DAY EXCURSIONStunning visits with numerous large waterfalls. Absolutely beautiful! The tunnel was interesting as were the eels in the river. The lunch stop accepted US $ or credit cards. Very rocky ride in a relatively comfortable vehicle. 8 1/2 hours excursion! A not to miss opportunity!Written April 26, 2024
- leahl1790 contributionsTahitian paradise.Fantastic tours! Our family of 5 booked the Tahiti West Coast Tour and the Moorea Island Tour through our cruise line. We were highly impressed with not only the places we visited, but the warm welcome and extensive knowledge of our guides Gerald, Simon and Gad. The Polynesian Islands are beautiful and were so glad we had such wonderful guides to share their pieces of paradise with us.Written April 26, 2024
- Go233482015150 contributionsCancelled transfer?I have been trying to reach someone for days to cancel this, so hopefully no one showed up at the airport. I have pneumonia and we weren’t able to go. I’m hoping I’m not charged that. I am getting a refund.Written April 7, 2024

- 495audreym0 contributionsVisiting PapeeteWe at the Hilton Tahiti and it was fantastic. We toured the island. It was fine--nothing exciting. Almost everything shuts down by 4pm. Bars/restaurants still open. There is plenty of bus service. We ventured out in the tourist section by the market.Written March 27, 2024
- telahm0 contributionsTour group with good guidesWe did a snorkel Safari in Mo'orea and in Tahiti with this group. The guides in Tahiti were better, but the snorkel locations much better in Mo'orea. We saw sharks (small harmless ones), sting rays, and beautiful coral in Mo'orea... but the hides were rushing us, only 20 Minutes per Location (2). In Tahiti the guides gave us more time at both locations (although the second location was 3 feet of water and nothing to see).Written March 8, 2024
- dad4140 contributionsGreat Tour of the Whole IslandOur driver/guide Blanc was wonderful. We stopped to take pictures just past the shrimp farm pf shark tooth mountain and flat top. Then up into the hills for a scenic lookout - WOW. We saw the ruins of a religious site. beautiful beaches, the pearl factory, another lookout, drove all around the Island and stopped at Tiki Village.Written February 27, 2024

- JoeO1040 contributionsPerfect introduction to the islands. Our guide, Gerard, was absolutely top notch. His presentations of the people, the culture, the history and the ecology were superb and insightful. He was fluent in English and French and took time to explain everything to the few French speaking tourists among the mostly English crowd. He was a very animated and engaging guide. Highly recommend.Written February 19, 2024
- 562marz0 contributionsGreat valueThe tour was exactly as expected. What made it 5 star was the guide, Gerard, ( not Jerry lol). He was friendly, animated, fun and knowledgeable. His presentation was really great! The driver, Simone, did a really wonderful job navigating small spaces and kept the bus cool. All in all, a good value.Written February 19, 2024
- lizdonfire0 contributionsAmazing views and a day well spent. The views were amazing. We took so many photos. Peto(sp?)was our driver on the tour and he ensured we had a great experience. We were truly in the jungles of Tahiti, with much greenery and plenty of waterfalls to see. We were really high up and it was amazing to see our surroundings. We were lucky enough to see the highest peak(Mount 'Orohena) which is usually hidden by cloud cover. We sprayed with bug spray, but we found the bugs were not too bad. The pit stop before you start your trip is at a little supermarket. I was hoping for a little pastry shop. The restaurant in my opinion was a run down place and I think it could be skipped. It would be better to stay longer at the place where we were able to swim and have a picnic lunch allowing people more time to swim as well. On the whole it was an amazing tour and we are glad we experienced it.Written February 19, 2024
- B2071EDjant0 contributionsGreat experienceTom was our driver on the tour and ensured we had a great experience. We had expected to be packed in like sardines but this was far from what happened. There were several vehicles taking the guests from the ship and a maximum of eight per truck. We had several stops with interesting facts explained at each. On the whole it was one of the best tours we’ve experiencedWritten January 27, 2024
- Shells82140 contributionsLovely relaxed tour of the islandWe had a lovely half day tour as a family of four, one other couple and one other person also joined this shared tour. Lydia was a wonderful tour guide- so personable, knowledgable, and really enjoyed showing off the island. She picked us up at the hotel and the 5 or so hourtour was a great chance to get to know the island and see some of the main lookouts and attractions. We had landed the day prior so it was a wonderful overview of the island at the beginning of the tour. Great tour for the price and really enjoyed having Lydia show us around!Written January 14, 2024
- Mark20150 contributionsI don't know what this tour was like because my Viator Tahiti Nui Travel Tour was a No Show!I booked a Tahiti Nui Travel tour online with Viator in Tahiti three plus days in advance. The website showed that the tour was available for me, and my husband and I submitted all required details including credit card information. I received an email saying that our trip was awaiting confirmation and that the email was the receipt. It said we would receive our tickets upon confirmation. Because the website clearly showed that the date we chose was available I presumed getting the tickets was a formality. About two hours before the tour was due to start I contacted Viator by Chat (an email bounced back, and the phone was unanswered) to enquire about the tickets and was advised by Chat that we did not have seats on the tour. The Chat agent was confusing because she referred to me by someone else's name (twice) even though I confirmed my name and because she appeared to have no understanding of the time difference between wherever she was and Tahiti. She told me the tour had already passed as it was for 12 am but I explained that the tour was for 12 midday. A half day sight-seeing bus tour around an island does not happen during the night! There are two issues: 1. The Chat operator didn't understand international time differences 2: The local tour operator is at fault for taking my booking but obviously oversubscribing the tour and not monitoring their website and what it was saying to customers. We should have received communication from Tahiti Nui Travel. Had I not contacted Viator we would not have known we were not going! An email to say our tour was declined after I complained on the Chat reflects very poor customer respect and communication. This is the trip of a lifetime for my husband and I for our 50th wedding anniversary. We wanted to see Tahiti island environs and now cannot. Viator and Tahiti Nui Travel does not reflect the loveliness of Tahiti.Written January 2, 2024

Booked and fully paid for return transfer to the airport, at a cost $350 New Zealand dollars, extremely disappointed no driver turned up to collect us from our hotel for our departing g flight home, despite having a confirmed booking reference. Hotel front desk telephoned however “no vehicle available” so we called a taxi service. It was rush hour traffic being early in the morning, we had no cash left, so we had to stop at an ATM which delayed us further as the taxi didn’t accept cards. With tears in my eyes, heart pounding we made our flight and at an extra cost of XPF5000. Very unreliable, choose a different provider and avoid the stress we had.

It was easy and reliable. Our name was on a marker board as we walked out of the airport. Loaded the luggage and dropped us at our destination. Very convenient.

The hotel arranged this for us as we were arriving 9 PM. We were met with a flower lei and safely dropped at our waiting hotel. No problems, and at that hour, was glad to have a meet and greet service.

The team was there waiting as advertised. They lived us from large to small bus so we could make a ferry 90 minutes earlier than planned. Our driver gave us some history on the way and handed us off to a rep at the ferry (Tatiana) who gave us info and got us on board. Both were great. Trip couldn’t get off to better start

Our flights go to terminal 1. Should we choose international or domestic?
Written April 5, 2023
Our flight arrives at 11pm and we would like to know how we can be guaranteed passage on an airport shuttle that will arrive on time and take us to our city centre hotel.
Written June 6, 2019
There a number of transport options listed on inet. We chose a shuttle that looked good on the read $US35 but I would not recommend it because of the age of the bus. We are in our 70's and 12 seater was somewhat dated and difficult to access. Expect to pay up to $US100 for better quality. Did the job though and we eventually left the airport.
