Make your own way to Llama Pack Base Camp in Quebrada Pumahuanca (1 hour’s drive from the Sacred Valley approx.). Upon arrival, you will be greeted by members of the Local Guilds of Llama Breeders and an English-speaking interpreter, who will present the Llama Pack Project to the group. You will be asked to assist in the packing activity led by your local hosts. Then, you will leave the base camp and start trekking uphill at slow pace through a zig zag trail, walking behind the llamas with assistance of your local hosts until you reach the designated spot, where you will enjoy an outdoor picnic while you chat with your hosts, relax and enjoy the panoramic views and the Valley’s fresh air. After this nice rest, you will head back with the llamas to the base camp. Please note that, in the event of a storm the previous day or a community chore that prevents llamas from joining the trek, the rest of the activities will still be carried out (previous evaluation from the Llama Pack team).

      ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE-WHERE ARE THEY?
I called and left a voice mail message and sent an email and it took a while for a response. Got an email from Marcos with an offer of an appointment for a telephone call. (what's with that?). Made an "appointment and spoke with him at the end of Sept. He had some good ideas for our itinerary and said he would put something together and get back to me "in a couple of days" with 2023 price and itinerary. Well it's 3 weeks later and I have never heard from him. Sorry their customer service is so bad. It sounded like a good trip.

      Not interested
I contacted them to plan a trip of South America. Slow replying, chased them (message in their junk!). They responded, I answered their questions. I have heard nothing - Over 3 weeks now.

      Peru-Ecuador travel organized by CAT
We had a wonderful trip. Every place we stopped, we had unique memorable experiences and certainly feel positive about the arrangements made by Class Adventure Travel. The middle two weeks of our month in Peru and Ecuador, we were extremely well cared for by the CAT team, providing us with excellent guides and liaisons and attractive accommodations in the Sacred Valley, Cusco and the Galapagos. We especially enjoyed the day spent with Maria Cristina in the Sacred Valley and the Machu Picchu tour with Mario. In the Galapagos, the day on North Seymour with Martin was an interesting nature walk. As far as hotels were concerned, the high mark was set by Sonesta Posada del Inka in Yucay

The 2 day Inca Trail was awesome. Well coordinated by CAT travel
We took the two day Inca tour (get off the trail around km 106 and then hike the last kms on the trail by Winaywayna, approach Machu Picchu via the sun gate, decend to Machu Picchu, spend the night in Aguas Calientes, then back to tour Machu Picchu the next day, and finally return on the afternoon train to Cusco. Such an amazing journal for those who want to do some hiking and see more things than those just taking the train to Aguas Calientes and busing up to Machu Picchu. The entire journey is almost spiritual. Words alone do not describe the panorama and the beauty of the entire area. The train ride is so cool itself. We arranged our hike through CAT (www.classadventure.travel). I highly recommend their service. Through them I arranged Flights from Lima to Cusco, accomdations in Cusco (Maytaq hotel was very good), excursions in Cusco, the train ride and then the hike. All connections came off very well (except one minor glitch that was rectified quickly.) Tips while in Cusco: It is over 11,000 ft so pay attention to all the recommendations. We are in good shape and still felt it. Take the extra day after arrival in Cusco to shop, tour Cusco or just sit in the squares and enjoy the beauty before traveling on to Machu Picchu. One other tip, crack your window in the hotel as this will allow airflow and the less amount of Oxygen at that height doesn't get stagnant in the room. The three of us had lousy sleep the first night with the windows closed until my son when outside around 3 AM and came back refreshed --room was so sealed the air quality diminished enough that we were all trying to breathe better in our sleep and were not able to. This trip was awesome. Also, don't just bypass LIMA, there are a lot of neat things to see and do there as well.
