Fun, delicious tour of Lima

What a fun, delicious way to experience Lima and it's unique food scene! Our guide Carlos was a fun, amazing storyteller and his passion for sharing Lima's culture was evident. It was a riot to get to spend an evening with other travelers from across the globe and swap stories over new foods. The ceviche and traditional dishes were excellent and at XOMA, our last restaurant of the night, the chef went out of his way to explain his personal connection to the dishes, show us the ingredients they came from and spend the evening answering our many questions. A fun, memorable evening filled with good food!

Best culinary tour ever
This culinary tour was top notch. I’ve taken part in numerous tours across North and South America and our guide, Patricia, made this the best I’ve experienced. She was extremely knowledgeable of the history of Lima as well as the food/drinks that we were able to try. We visited 3 different exclusive restaurants and it’s clear that this company has great relations with each one as there was always a table with exceptional service at each of the very crowded restaurants. We were lucky enough to have a private area at each place and skip the long lines. Shout out to our driver Juan as well who was always there within minutes of us needing to be picked up. Together Patricia and Juan made this an unforgettable time.

Amazing experience

The Lima Gourmet Tour is a must if you are visiting Lima. Our tour guide Patricia, was so knowledgeable and friendly, she made us all feel welcome. She remembered all our names in the group right off the bat, where we couldn't remember the others in our group. The food was so excellent, you really get a taste of authentic Peruvian dishes and even better, the local cocktails. For all the food, drink, knowledgeable tour guide of the history of the gastronomy and culture of Peru, as well as the comraderie developed from the whole group, including our guide, it's was so worth the price we paid. One of my favorite places was a a restaurant the overlooked this ancient ruins. Check out the picture Lima Is known for its food, so if you are coming here, don't forget to book a food tour, and do it with Lima Gourmet food tours. Hopefully you will get Patricia as your guide. She is really awesome!

Incredible food experience!
We decided last minute to book the food tour with Lima Gourmet Food Company after hearing great reviews. We were not disappointed and it was worth every cent! Patricia our guide was absolutely fantastic. She was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and courteous. She has excellent people skills and is very easy to get along with. She made us feel welcomed and very comfortable. She was understanding in regards to our food allergies and choices to avoid more exotic meats, which was really great. Our food tour was beyond delicious, and we ate at restaurants we would have never been able to get into or or eat at without her guidance. We tried a variety of classic Peruvian dishes that were absolutely phenomenal. Patricia taught us an incredible amount of information about all the food, Peruvian culture, and the background of each restaurant we ate at. This was by far our favorite part of our time in Lima and would not hesitate to book again. Truly a fantastic experience we would have never been able to recreate in the slightest without such a phenomenal guide.

Not to be missed foodie experience!

We were picked up at our hotel by Patricia and the driver Juan on a recent evening. We had 5 guests in our group—all of whom were personable and made for a delightful evening. Patricia provided background descriptions about Lima and the food we could expect during our drives between stops as well as during our restaurant visits. We visited 3 beautiful classy restaurants with an abundance of delicious Peruvian food and drinks. We also did a walking tour of the Barranco district while sipping on a shake made with local Peruvian fruit. Come hungry and enjoy this delightful, information and food filled tour!

Unbelievable experience

Unbelievable locations, delicious variety of foods, and extraordinary tour guide Patricia! I cannot overstate how amazing this experience was. From the first restaurant 10 feet from the Pacific Ocean with its delicious civiche to the gorgeous open-air restaurant set on pre-Incan ruins, this was the best tour of any kind I have ever been on. Patricia was incredibly knowledgeable, and even though I speak some Spanish she provided everything in Eniglish and was very easy to understand given her time spent in the US. This was an amazing tour, and an unbelievable value. This would easily cost triple or more in other countries.

Carlos did an incredible job taking us around the city to the most beautiful locations with scenic atmospheres and delicious food. Of the 12 days we spent in Peru he was without a doubt the most knowledgeable, passionate and informative guide we encountered. Thank you so much for sharing your culture with us and making our final day in Peru one to remember!

Did an evening tour with Carlos. It was really enjoyable - three stops with different food and drinks, and a walking tour around Barranco. Our guide was Carlos who was really enjoyable to speak with, very knowledgable about the food scene in Peru along with wider information and discussion on the country and its past and present. Would recommend, particularly if you're shorter on time in Lima, as you get a lot in in a relatively short space of time (1/2 day, 4-5 hours)

Wonderful food tour!

Wow - this food tour was definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Lima. The restaurants were fantastic, including a beachside appetizer and a main course overlooking Incan ruins. And the food choices were delicious. Our guide, Patricia, showed us the city, told us a bit about Lima and Peru history, and described the background of the food choices. We'd recommend showing up hungry!!

Ate everything on the menu

We had a great time. Amy took us around to three different restaurants where we ate excellent Peruvian dishes. Definitely worth going hungry to because we ate a ton of food, but it was all spectacular. We had a couple different styles of ceviche, had a pisco sour, and then tried just about everything on the menu at a restaurant adjacent to some pre-Incan ruins. After we'd finished all the courses we took a short but scenic walk through Barranco and then were dropped off back at our hotel.

We actually did this at the end of a two week tour throughout Peru, and even though we had been eating Peruvian food basically the entire time, we still thought this was a great experience. A really nice tasting of a bunch of dishes we hadn't gotten around to, and even the ones we had sampled before we got a very nice version of that was worth trying anew.
