    Delicious local food experience
Our tour guide Cecelia was great! She was very knowledgeable about all the food, which was delicious. And every location we went to, you could tell she was friends with the owners/employees which made the experience feel a lot more personalized. Fantastic tour, would highly recommend!

    Tasty, fun, over-priced
Natalie, our guide, was excellent in presenting information and speaking clearly in English. There was very little walking involved; most places were very close to each other. The food was delicious. The pisco sour was very strong. I am still waiting on her email with specifics of our tour and pictures which was four days ago.

A walk through Peruvian cuisine (and Barranco)
We had a great time sampling delicacies from across Peru on this walking food tour in Barranco, Lima. The tour starts off with learning about Peru's geography how its conducive to a wide variety of fruits, coffee and chocolate (my personal favorite). It then moves on to three full meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) over the next ~3 hours including pisco sours at a lovely local joint and dessert! We were lucky to have a lively group during our tour which made it extra special. Highly recommend. Do make sure you show up with an appetite!

    What an experience!
This was an excellent food tour! The food was amazing, the locations were beautiful, and the laughs and conversation were plentiful. Our guide, Nathaly, was the star of the entire evening. Her insight, knowledge, and ability to get us where we needed to be but also giving us time to relax and enjoy the experience we’re invaluable. She is a treasure and made the night 100% better than it would have been with only the food. We highly recommend this food tour and we think Nathaly is the best of the best.

    Excellent Food and Friendly Guide
All of the restaurants we went to were incredible, and the context, cultural information, and history provided by our guide were very interesting. There was more than enough food and a very wide variety of offerings. I went here during my layover in Lima and it was well worth my time. You'll leave very full and very satisfied.

    Wonderful experience!
After being in Peru for a full week and traveling throughout the country, my husband and I thought we knew all about Peruvian food. We took this tour with Alli on the very last day of our visit. It was incredible and we still learned so much more about Peruvian food. for example I had no idea how chocolate was made and how it grew. We went to several sites around the Barranco area neighborhood and the demos were exciting. The food was delicious. Alli was a wonderful guide. She not only explained all about Peruvian food, but also gave personal stories to explain the culture and Peruvian environment. We love the experience.

Great way to explore the historic centre of Lima
Excellent combined walking and food tour of Lima’s historic centre. Perfect as an introduction to the city and its food culture. Our guide Evelyn was a star: knowledgeable, passionate and very keen to answer our questions. Ended up being a highlight of our entire trip to Perú.

Amazing market tour & cooking class!
We had an awesome time on our private half day tour & cooking class. We first toured a lively marketplace in the Surquillo neighborhood near Miraflores. Felipe, our tour guide, was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. He knew every fruit, vegetable, herb, and cut of meat or seafood at the marketplace. We learned a lot about Peruvian foods and produce just from touring the marketplace. He also pointed out a hole-in-the wall fresh seafood restaurant that we can’t wait to return to. After picking up a few snack ingredients (corn nuts & plantain chips) from the marketplace, we then moved to a private kitchen nearby. We learned how to make classical Peruvian dishes like ceviche, causa, lomo saltado, and pisco sours. Our master chef/teacher was super helpful in trying to teach us Spanish while teaching us how to cook. She was super friendly and did a great job in making the cooking experience seamless. Even after our tour/cooking experience was done, Felipe was super kind & gave us great recommendations & directions on where to go next. Our half day experience was awesome! We can’t wait to come back. We highly recommend this experience to get a taste of Lima/Peru.

Did this tour with a friend, and we are so impressed. The guide Johanna was super good and she had found some really interesting places that we would not have discovered by our selves. So happy to finally taste the Peruvian flavors in both food and drinks!

Hi Margarita, Thank you very much for the great review! We are really glad to learn that you enjoyed our vegan route in Barranco in the company of Johana. We were told that you missed the flavour of lomo saltado, so we hope that the portobello saltado did the trick! Please do let us know when you visit Lima again – it would be great to connect again. This tour was incredible and Galia was the best tour guide I’ve ever had hands down!! We visited 5 awesome restaurants/cafes and we loved each one of them and learned so much about Peruvian culture and food. We enjoyed coffee, delicious chocolate, ceviche, potatoes, fried zucchini with rice and gelato. We also learned how to make a Pisco Sour. This was the highlight of our trip and we will definitely do more tours with Galia when we return!! Thank you so much for this wonderful adventure!!

Galia was our super-friendly and sweet tour guide. The tour was a nice way to see some lovely streets in an unhurried manner. The selection of places to sample food was outstanding and super local. We particularly loved the ceviche place and the pisco place where we also got a sizable portion of the saltado. Galia also took us into the kitchen at one of the places to watch the chef!

Awesome vegan sampling tour. Natalie is very knowledgeable about food, but also history and politics. Visited chocolate shop; small local market where we tried juices and fruits, restaurant for vegan ceviche, another restaurant for spirits and Chinese food, and finished with sorbet.

One of the best half day tours I have ever done. Natalie is a gem.

Galia was an amazing tour guide, super friendly and sweet. She guided us on a walking tour of Barranco stopping at all these cute spots to teach us about the Peruvian culture and foods. It was a very informative tour and we got to taste so many delicious traditional Peruvian foods and drinks. Galia was amazing, she took many photos of us and really made the experience so social.

This tour was a fantastic way to spend a half day in Lima. Vegan preferences are well accommodated and I was able to experience delicious flavors as well as take in the ambiance and history of La Barranca. All arrangements flowed smoothly and I really enjoyed spending time with my guide who was really wonderful!

Nathaly is an amazing guide and one of our favorite guides we've had. =)
She was friendly, easy to understand and shared a lot of interesting facts that kept my attention.

My husband is not vegan and he said this was his favorite tour of our Peru trip. That says a lot! So if you're not vegan - it's okay....don't be afraid.

I did not expect to enjoy it so much. I thought it was just going to be tasting food from one vegan restaurant to the next. It was educational and interesting.
I loved learning about the different flavor profiles of the chocolate and how it's made.
Fruit tasting was cool - I now love granadillas so much!
The Chilcano drink gave me a nice buzz. =)
I really like how we were able to view the preparation of the food and drinks sampled. It's a very nice touch - there's more learning that way.

One suggestion would be to let the restaurant know ahead of time (or remind them) - of anyone's dietary restrictions. It is labeled a vegan tour - I expected all of the dishes we sampled to be vegan. They had to remake the causa and also they had fish stock ready to be put in the ceviche. It's not a big deal because I always ask about all the ingredients before eating.

Totally recommend this tour for everybody!

Sovannie & Stephen, Thank you so much for the amazing review ! We are really glad to hear that you enjoyed your time with Nathaly in Barranco and that the food, and knowledge she shared with you was to your liking. We always take great care of communicating to our suppliers, the morning before the tour, when our clients are vegans, vegetarians or have any sort of dietary restriction or allergy. I'm very sorry that the ceviche stop made that mistake – we will make sure to report it so this doesn't happen again! Thank you for being so attentive and tolerant with us. Please do let us know if you ever decide to visit Lima again – it will be a pleasure to connect with you again. Saludos, Jessy

We found ourselves with extra time in Lima, Peru, and decided to see if there was a vegan food tour. The concierge at the beautiful Belmond Hotel had never been asked to find such a tour. Well, he found a great one --Exquisito Peru AND they accommodated our time constraints. We were picked up at the hotel and arrived in Barranco to meet our vegan tour guide, Johana . She was amazing! She was knowledgeable, fun, full of enthusiasm and so willing to answer all our questions. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with her. We experienced wonderful vegan food as we walked to 8 different locations delighting in the sites and culture of Barranco. We highly recommend this tour company and Johana!
