Best experience ever, Best photos ever
We were on honeymoon in south America and we booked our honeymoon photoshoot with Noe in Cusco. We also wanted to see the area with a local so the whole package worked out perfectly for us. Noe was super friendly, patient and knowledgeable and SUPER TALENTED photographer. He not only took the most amazing photos but he also took us to hidden gems of Cusco and around and told us all about the history and traditions of people in the area. We can not recommend them enough. The most memorable day in our trip.

    Best memory in Peru!
I am a solo traveller joining the cusco city photo tour and 2days tour to 7- lagoon and rainbow mountain. These three days are the most unforgettable and amazing journey of my trip. Noah take care of me very well, he is the guide and the photographer as well as the teacher, because he teach me a lot about photography! The place I went has no crowds, I can enjoy the scenery very privately and quietly. Highly recommended !

    Great personalised service
We did the 2 day Humantay Lake/ Condors tour & I was happy that the tour still went ahead even though there were only 2 of us booked, so we received special attention. Our guide & our driver went out of their way to help us. I struggled badly with the altitudes so they were incredibly patient, helping by carrying my backpack & tripod. I walked on horseback part of the way but still struggled. They took me to the best viewpoint & the view of Lake Humantay was stunning & well worth the effort. My husband was also impressed by how safely our driver drove us around, not taking dangerous risks like so many other drivers do. My only other suggestion would be that perhaps we didn't need to start so early in the morning on the day that we went to see the condors as we had to wait a while for them to come out, but perhaps we needed to leave Cusco early to avoid peak hour traffic.

    WONDERFUL!
Review Our photo tour with Noe was nothing short of spectacular! We had a fabulous time visiting locations off the beaten path. There were virtually no other tourists. Noe is super knowledgeable, personable, friendly, fun, and kind. His English was great; we had no issues communicating with him. We couldn’t have chosen a better experience to commemorate our 25th anniversary than to capture our time in Peru with a photographic journey among spectacular scenery. What a memorable experience! We are so thankful for having had Noe’s guidance and expertise is selecting some of the most beautiful places on earth. If you are on the fence about this one…DO IT!

    Palcoyo Mountain Photographic Tour
We had an excellent hike up Palcoyo Mountain. The views were amazing and only a handful of other visitors. It had snowed the previous week and there was still a lot of snow on the mountains unfortunately hiding many of the rainbow colors, however the snow covered mountains held their own beauty and we still managed to see the main rainbow stone in the area. Noe was an excellent guide providing us with some local bread for us to try, the packed lunch provided was very tasty! Noe is a very talented photographer and although not keen photographers ourselves (only having basic smart phone cameras), Noe captured some wonderful images of us, providing us with forever memories, something that we would not have had had we not booked this tour. Thank you Noe for a wonderful day with memories that will last a lifetime.

    Personalized, insightful and incredibly responsive!
We started planning our magical trip to Peru almost 6 months ago and the team at Andean Photo Expeditions was incredibly helpful and insightful in the entire planning phase. In spite of some unforeseen situation with the protests, we were able to stick to our customized, personalized trip designed for the 7 of us (4 adults + 3 energetic boys!) the incredible scenes and sights of Peru were only made better by the Andean team and we will gladly book another trip with them next time we are in South America! The highlight of the trip was no doubt visiting and experiencing the alpaca blessing ceremony with the most amazing Andean family!

Amazing country, amazing guide, fabulous experience!
Unfortunately the tour was cancelled due to the political events which led to revolutionary demonstrations. However, Dan was clever enough to spontaneously re-organise my stay in Peru. I was able to visit several very interesting places, and spent 2 days in the Paracas area, a must! I will go back, to enjoy the Cusco area and continue my indepth visits of this fabulous country. Many many thanks to a first class guide, Dan.

    Excellent Choice - Great Memories
I have written hundreds of reviews and believe in the power of feedback; I hope my review is helpful. We met up with our guide, Noe, in the lobby of our hotel. Noe was excellent from A to Z. He took us to some less touristy spots as well as some of the normal spots and helped us capture memorable pics. Noe is a local and helped us understand some of the history, culture and even foods the locals eat. This was our first full day in Cusco and it was a great way to orient us to the city. We even asked Noe to take us to a non-touristy, locals-only restaurant for lunch and that was very memorable and gave us an insight into everyday life for locals. I highly recommend this tour especially for those who want to make sure they come away with some great pics and memories. Bravo, Noe. ¡Gracias!

    An Adventure of a Lifetime
First I must thank Dan the owner of Andean Photo Expeditions for creating the perfect trip for me. I asked him to show a real Peruvian experience. Not the standard tourist experience but to show me places where the locals visit and enjoy. He not only delivered the perfect tour but exceeded my expectations. He is a man that really cares about Peru and has spent many years creating an experience that really shows how special Peru really is. He showed me places that not any other tour services will ever show you. Also as a photographer he understands how to find special places perfect for taking pictures. He personally took me to Nueva Esperanza cemetery for Día de todos los Santos, and it was a very special day that I will never forget. Another amazing part of my tour was with my guide Noe in Cusco. He is very passionate about photography and he really pushed me to challenge myself and take risks with how I take pictures. He took me to small communities outside of Cusco to capture amazing street photography. Places with no tourists in sight. It was a very special experience to capture on my camera. As a photographer myself, I can say that Andean Photo Expeditions is a very special company that really cares about creating the perfect experience for you to capture moments that not many people get to see. I have no regrets using this company and I know that if you chose Andean Photo Expeditions you will have no regrets too. Thank you Dan!

    Amazing Day in Lima
Dan is a joy to be around and takes you to places you wouldn’t necessarily visit yourself. We had an absolute blast exploring Lima with him and our driver Cesar. He was also super accommodating - we had a lunch reservation and he worked around our schedule. Would 100% recommend for a fun taste of Lima.

    Amazing Trip!
It is difficult expressing just how perfect our 19-day Peru trip with Andean Photo Expeditions was; mere words feel completely insufficient. Peru and its landscapes, flora, fauna, and culture independently are without a doubt already incredible, but both Dan and Noe infinitely elevated our experiences of Peru. They were so mindful, so meticulous, and so knowledgeable in their service, and their love for the country, its people, and history rolled off of them in waves as they revealed to us pockets of Peruvian culture and hidden photographic gems I fully believe most visitors will never get to experience. The only problem Dan and Noe have left me with is the dread that no trip I take in the future will ever be able to top this unforgettable, rich, and beautiful adventure they took us on. For that, I am eternally grateful.

    Fantastic trip!
Before this trip, I had limited experience holding a camera and did not know what to expect from traveling in Peru. Dan and Noe went above and beyond for their private tour. They created an extensive itinerary with attention to detail, adding in rest as needed. I was able to discover delicious Peruvian food, the vibrant micro cultures within Peru, and the diverse landscapes of Peru (rainforest, desert, ocean, mountains, alpine lakes). I had opportunities to practice newfound photographic skills. And I shared laughter and food with Dan and Noe as well as a team of other amazing locals along the way. Throughout the trip, Dan and Noe were flexible with the structured itinerary, and executed on feedback thoroughly. We could bring up suggestions or ideas and they would tap into their knowledge of photography and Peru to come up with sound plans on the spot. Overall, the trip truly felt like teamwork that catered to our individual needs, and resulted in an overall experience that is best described as bespoke. I not only learned about “the Peru of today” (Dan’s words), but gained photography skills, and new friends in Dan and Noe. Their passion for Peruvian culture and their love for photography are contagious and I could not be happier with the experience. Highly recommend the private tour with Dan and Noe.

    Amazing unforgettable 19 days!
Friends and I found Andean Photo Expeditions on Google and decided to take a chance by booking an 19 day personalized trip with them. This turned out to be this best decision we’ve made this year as the trip exceeded our wildest expectations. Unlike day tours, which Andean Photo Expeditions also offers, multi-day tours like ours provide more difficult and unpredictable logistical challenges for the operators, in this case Dan and Noe. I am happy to say that they have handled everything perfectly. Dan was meticulous in planning our expedition. We started our introduction to Peru in Arequipa region. We experienced the Salinas Salt Lagoon and saw condors, vicuñas, alpacas, flamingos etc. Then we moved on to the main course of the trip which was Cusco region. This included Machu Picchu, Rainbow Mountain, Pallay Puncho, Humantay Lake, Ausangate etc. Finally for dessert, we went to the desert and rode the sand buggy in Huacachina. The trip was cleverly structured in such a way that there was a gradual build up in altitude, physical intensity and grandeur of the views. Among the otherworldly landscapes and magnificent animals, there were also moments of real human connections. We met many local families who are friends with the guides and learned about their ways of life. The best friends that we made along the way though are no other than our brilliant guides Dan and Noe. As well as being consummate professionals, they are down to earth and great to share a drink with. We learned so much about many facets of the Peruvian life from them and in turn shared stories from our own culture. All in all, if you are going to Peru and are looking for a flexible private tour experience, I would strongly recommend Andean Photo Expeditions. This was truly a trip of a lifetime. Thank you Dan and thank you Noe!

    Dream trip to Peru
Only the highest praise and gratitude for Andean Photo Expeditions for planning and executing a dream 19-day Peru trip. Everything was perfectly tailored to our group's interests and went off without a hitch, thanks to the team's professionalism, attention to detail, and true love and respect for the land, people and culture they were showing us. Dan and Noe took care of everything we had and hadn't thought of, without being overbearing and still giving us flexibility to shape our own adventure. Right from the start of planning months before the trip, Dan was patient and receptive to our ideas and expectations, tweaking our itinerary several times per our request. As we progressed through the schedule, our guides worked with us when we wanted to make further adjustments in the middle of the tour and took the reins on the logistical challenges of such. Our trip spanned touristic hotspots, vibrant local communities, bustling cities, vast natural reserves and remote mountains. The team treated us to a sweeping cross-section of the country and its people, opening our eyes and hearts to parts of Peru that I believe some tour groups would not have done. Remarkably, Dan and Noe also leave us much desire of the country, ensuring that we will return again in the future. It was a real treat to have had such mindful, knowledgable and trustworthy guides take us on our first trip in Peru. The team's attitude and service are of the highest calibre, after what must have been a painful lull in clients from the Covid pandemic. Andean Photo Expeditions is truly a gem and I cannot recommend them highly enough for your next holiday.

The best money I’ve spent in a long time!! You will see all the highlights of Lima, catered to a love of photography!! The cultural experience is unbeatable. Dan is a phenomenal guide with unique stories of each place. I felt safe and engaged the entire tour! It has reignited my love for travel photography and brought so much inspiration to pivot my career to photojournalism. I will be going on more tours with Dan and his company in the future!

Arriving for our first time in Lima, we sought a local guide who not only catered to photographers but also would show us the lesser known and emerging spots, places where real Limenos hang out. There’s no one better to do that than Dan and his crew at Andean Photography. He provided a cultural perspective of both its history, politics and current scene . Note: downtown Lima suffers from crazy heavy traffic, so Dan and Cesar’s local knowledge really saved us from a lot of unproductive “stumble around” time. Really important to us: We were able to go into neighborhoods we wouldn’t do on our own. (Lesson: You can go edgier when you’re with someone who knows what would and would not upset the culture while photographing.) BTW- while my husband is a serious DSLR guy, I was using my smartphone and Dan was equally helpful to both of us. When we come back to visit Cuzco, we’re definitely checking in with him again, as we hear he does a great Andes tour as well.

My husband and I had three wonderful days with Dan seeing Lima. We explored Colonial Lima from inside historic homes and outside in the streets and plazas. We saw highlights by day, such as a Huaca Pucllana and Casa Aliaga, and had a photo shoot at night all around the magic water circuit. Dan provided the perfect balance of historical background, cultural interpretation, modern day Peruvian influences, camera tips, and door to door service from one amazing site to the next. We hope to travel with Dan again!

My group and I spent an excellent day with Dan on his Lima Photo Tour. My group of photographers discovered many places in Lima that would not be on "standard" tourist tours. Dan runs his photo tours very professionally from the moment you contact him to book a tour ... to doing the actual tour. He is top notch! Highly recommended.

This was the best tour and day of my trip in Peru! Lucky for me and my sister, we had a private tour- no one else in our group. Super personal and detailed towards us! We were able to see the touristy aspects of Lima that are always in everyone’s list, but the best part was Seeing things that most tours don’t go to! Seeing the Market and the landmarks on the top of the mountains were my highlights! Dan was a great guide and ensured everything was in order! Felt very safe and knew we were in knowledgeable hands! Recommend this tour 100%!!

Had an amazing day touring Lima with Dan while learning about photography. The most unique aspect of the experience was Dan’s ability to convey a side of the city much more complex than meets the eye. Lima is layered and full of stories of course. But the tour granted me a glimpse into the human condition behind all that history, and it made the place feel accessible and relatable. Dan’s authentic love for the city and its people is very obvious. There was a great amount of respect he paid everyone we encountered - from waiters, to fishermen, to street vendors, and even those asking for money. I signed up for a photography workshop and a bit of sightseeing. Instead I received a lesson in how to connect with perfect strangers on a human level, and capture a bit of their spirit in images in the process. Highly recommend this tour and Dan’s services.

This was my first time in Peru and South America. Thanks to Dan and his friends, it became one of my best experiences!

Traveling alone in Lima for a few days, disliking big groups and selfie sticks, and with a desire to see/photograph the real Lima, I was looking for smaller group or private tours that would cater to my needs. When I came across Dan’s Lima Photo Day Tour, I was intrigued immediately. As it turned out, it was an incredible experience!

Our tour was semi-private as there were only me and another traveler in the group, and that made the tour more personal for us. We commuted like the locals on the public transportation, and Dan took us to places we wouldn’t have thought of without his knowledge of the city and good rapport with the locals. From the beautiful buildings and balconies in the historical center to the colorful fruits in the local market, from the gratifies in Barranco to the fishermen and boat makers at the harbor, Dan took us through history and religion, modern art, and the local life of Lima, all through the lens of a professional photographer. We were not only sightseeing but also interacting with the locals, and picking up photography tips from Dan along the way. Having one good shot makes the day, let alone multiples of various subjects with his help!!

Dan is the nicest tour guides I have met. He is warm, thoughtful, and accommodating. His talent in photography, genuine appreciation for Peruvian people, culture, and landscapes, and passion for this young business all make the tour unique, memorable and priceless. Because of this amazing experience with Dan, I did another photography tour in Cusco with his friend Alex.

Selfishly, I enjoyed the tour so much that I want it to stay a secret. :) In all seriousness, I highly recommend this tour to anyone (photographer or not) who has a full day to spare in Lima. Not just for a well-designed itinerary and outstanding value, but also for a bit of humane touch.

Spent a great day being introduced to Lima. Dan was most informative, answering all of our questions, taking us to see the ‘real’ Lima, not just the tourist sites. We got to travel like a local on the public transportation; he helped with photos and got us the best prices on souvenirs; than he took us to a wonderful restaurant in Chinatown for lunch. A highlight was a trip to the fish market at the end of the day before driving to the highest point in Lima for an incredible view of the Pacific Ocean. A wonderful day and great start to our Peru vacation.
