- regined33200We couldn't find the guide - they did not have a sign for usWe booked a tour with Lima City tours in advance as we had 2 days in Lima. We did have to pre-pay part of the tour. Once we arrived at Miraflores the Cruise drop off in Lima, we couldn't see a sign with our name as promised - as we were 5 Min early we started to walk up and down and look at all the guides/traxidrivers waiting but couldn't see a sign, we waited for 2 more buses to arrive and drop off people and also were close to the bus exist - but we couldn't find any sign for us. We did not have a local phone/data plan and were unable to contact Jhnony. We did a tour with one of the locals - after being back on the ship we contacted Jhnoy right away as we also booked an evening tour and we wanted to make sure that there is really someone to pick us up, as we arrived again there was no sign, after walking around for another 10 Min my husband saw a person with a white folded paper and walked to him - sure enough that was our sign except we couldn't see it. To top it off they wanted us to pay then for the whole morning tour too. We were accused that it is our fault - as I do not think it is me to have to hold up the sign. In the end we paid still less money to take a local taxi driver who (after we talked to fellow cruise members) did the same tour as we did. Only difference is that we likely got less back ground information and history but that is not a big deal for us. And we also never got our pre-paid money back - as we got told we did not show up (but we did wasted nearly an hour including both times searching for them)
- Capetowntraveller0500Best priced private tour in Lima!Jhony went out of his way to accommodate us. He was punctual on time and made sure we stay together as group. You wont find a better tour at the same affordable price. Thanks Jhony
- G4195MXmarioa00A nice surpriseGreat tour! We came with no expectations, but it was actually really great and a good deal for the money. The guide was nice and really flexible with schedule and we got time to enjoy every part of the tour! The degustacion which was some random extra activity which we didn't care much about, revealed itself to be actually one of the highlight of the trip, with great explainations and many nice tastings. Totally recommended
- S4692NXpatrickd00Never againi think this trip can t be improved..all in all a Desaster when you compare the price with the experience...30 second Photostop at huachina..almost 9 hours of driving and 2 hours waiting time In my Personal top 3 of the worst Trip ever done
- William G00Great Lima Tours to Discovery Incan HistoryI went on the Pachacamac and Lima City tours, both with great guide named Enrique. Both tours were terrific. You learn about Incan culture at holy site of Pachacamac and at the fabulous Larco Museum. I highly recommend both tours.
- Peeceecee00Really poor serviceBooked and paid for a private city tour before leaving the UK. Communication from Jhony was good at that stage. However, we were badly let down. Failed to turn up at our hotel and could not make contact via the mobile or office numbers. We were only in Lima for a day and a half and this shoddy treatment ruined our stay as we spent almost an entire morning just waiting around. Do think twice before using this company or Jhony as they/he appear to have done this on more than one occasion - see other reviews. The only saving grace is that our money was refunded but that does not make up for the disappointment.
- Valerin S00Perfect 1 day out of LimaThe tour was well paced. Transportation was comfortable and timely. We had enough time in each stops and we were blessed with good weather so no big waves while in Paracas and it was tolerable in the Desert. Had a great lunch and Pisco tasting in Ica.
- 700clemd00Had a great experience!I decided to take this tour just the afternoon before and grateful I made that decision. It was the cheapest tour I could find and I got more out than I would have expected. Everyone was super helpful and even tho I booked on short notice I got picked up from my hotel. The places we visited were simply amazing. We had a 90 minute boat ride were we saw penguins, sea lions and the nasca lines. Afterwards we visited Huacachina and had an amazing 2 hours Buggy ride in the gorgeous desert, including sandboarding. Our guide was great, super friendly, did a lot of explanations and helped wherever he could. The restaurants were we stopped were all carefully picked and affordable, from the tiny roadside breakfast place with freshly made typical Peruvian breads, to the lunch place where we got a short wine tour, including free samples. I had an amazing day and can totally recommend to take this tour!
- Camper41387500ATTENSION: DO NOT JOIN THIS TOUR, TERRIBALE SERVICE, UNPROFESSIONALDO NOT RECOMMEND!! After paid and confirmation from viatour, we waited for our hotel pick up time from the tour company. no communication whatsoever, then we tried to call, dirctly to voice mail. Tour day, we waited at hotel lobby at 4:45am, then we have got call at 5:15am from tour company, that our tour has been canceled due to inefficent people join. They offer us to pay extra 30US dollar per person for a private tour. THIS IS NOT A TOUR COMPANY, THEY ARE FRAUD, LEAVE YOU TO THE LAST MINUTE, GIVE YOU NO CHOICE THEN ASK YOU FOR MORE MONEY. If you read my review and still join this tour, good luck my friend, to prepare for your miserable and unperfesional service.
- Josenucci202000Don’t understand the importance from a tourist visiting in.As a tourist we plan our visit to the country in a schedule time. Unfortunately this tour was cancelled at the last minute by the tour company due other people from the tour group have got sick, we understand and we are sorry that the others couldn’t attend the tour but that is not our problem and we were ready to go. The tour company cancelled and suggest us to pay extra $35 each if we still want to attend the tour, meaning they would be able to do the tour but they won’t because others won’t attend which we think is unfair. Although We tried to negotiate paying for one the extra charge and attending two which they denied and cancelled the tour, disregarding us totally and not seeing our point of view as a tourist. We are very disappointed the way we were treated.
- magnusna00Great and social tripThis is a really well-organised and intensive trip! We visit the islands outside of Paracas, the desert in Huacachina and Pisco-destillery in the end. It is a day-trip from Lima, which means that it is possible to explore a lot in a limited time. The guiding is very good, and the guests are an international mix, making it possible to make new friends. The trip is done by a minibus, so the group size is also not too large The trip lasts a long time. We left the hotel at 5am and was back at 10pm, so I recommend to bring a bag with things that you could possible need for a long day by the seaside and in the desert
- John-Global-Man00Solid Tour Company for Various Tours and Locations in and Around LimaI used Lima City Tours for multiple locations and was very satisfied. I used the company for a few trips outside of Lima where I needed someone to take me around. If you don't wish to take a local or tour bus, this is the best alternative. The drivers and guides were excellent, and made my trip warm, memorable and special. The management was prompt and professional, Jhony being a great manager and coordinator to make everything happened on time and performed well. Overall, a very solid company for a very solid experience.
- Alaina102400Fabulous Night Lima Tour w/ Maria & DiegoI unexpectedly ended up stranded in Lima overnight due to poor weather conditions in Cusco. My hotel, Wyndham/airport arranged this tour for a few of us. Maria & Diego picked us up from our hotel, taking us for an evening tour of Lima. Maria was extremely knowledgeable of the city and history, and even made dinner reservations for us, dropping us off at our restaurant at the end of the tour. It was a great way to spend 4 hours in the city.
- Otto L00Good experience on first day in PeruWe took the afternoon tour that included pick-up by minibus and walking. This is good way to see and hear about Lima's history if only one day in Lima. The best parts were first sight of Huaca Pucllana, architecture around the squares and the convent visit. We had seen the Miraflores beach and cliffs previously on ride from airport. Guide was very good and answered all questions.
- Jim A00Not Worth the time/moneyWe had a free afternoon to spend on a general tour so booked this one. Price was high for what we got - a few token stops and some commentary by a guide we could barely understand. The tour started at 2:30 and headed into downtown Lima. That ut us in gridlock traffic for our return which took two hours. Nobody wanting to make a good impression should book tours in Lima during rush hour unless yo like to watch 11,000,000 going by. Save your money and take a walk around on your own.

We found Lima city tours on TA and decided to reach out to Jhony via email while still in the States. He responded extremely quickly and we set up both an afternoon tour for our family and an affordable airport transfer to our hotel.
On Saturday morning my daughters flight was continually delayed, so we had to email Jhony twice to push back the start time of our tour. He was beyond accommodating.
Once the tour actually began he was very knowledgeable about the attractions we visited and everything was worth seeing and interesting. We enjoyed our time with him so much that we decided to book a customized tour the following day. We had certain things we wanted to see and he offered various suggestions to make the tour complete.
Both tours included private transportation and we felt safe leaving our things in the car as we got out to see the sights. In total we used Lima city tours for transportation to and from the airport (including late arrivals and early departures) and two private tours. They were all fantastic and on top of everything else very adorable. Definitely book through this company!

Our adventure got off to a slow start because our guide, Samuel, had limited English. He is Brazilian and had only been in Lima for two months so he was a little unsure of his Spanish, too. Once we established that things got better. I was able to use my Spanish and then translate, when needed, for the rest of the group. I believe the company was short on guides since there was at least one cruise ship in port. This is not to say anything bad about Samuel. He was personable and knowledgeable and really wanted us to enjoy the day.
The cooking class with Zenobia was fantastic. Again, there was a bit of a language problem but it wasn’t insurmountable. We all enjoyed participating in the prep and cooking and Samuel showed us how to make the “perfect” Pisco Sour.
The tour of the Historic Center was a bit hurried because a couple of people in our small group were concerned about the traffic to get back to the ship on time. It turned out not to really be a problem.
All in all, this was a unique experience and we would highly recommend it.

Hello there,
Thanks a lot for writing us a really nice review. We normally do private torus to give a personalised service and not be in rush because we manage the time and our customers just relax and enjoy. But as you said we got around 25 tours from the ship that day and your agent joined you in different groups so all our tour guides were full. Eventhough it is nice to hear that you have enjoyed the day cooking and exploring the city. It is ncie that you recommend us. Thanks a lot.

My friend and me contacted Lima City Tours and we had a great experience because we learned how to make causa, aji de gallina and pisco sour. The cheff Dina and Jhony did a perfect job and the appartment where we cooked had an amazing view of the Pacific Ocean. So I totally recommend this cooking class which is really nice. Thanks a lot guys!

This was a very unfortunate choice and a waste of $160 US
Pros:
1. The Brazilian tour guide (I can’t remember his name) was very good and entertaining.
2. He gave a market tour and made pisco sours with us after the class.
Cons:
1. The class takes place in a small hostel kitchen with room for one person (max two) to work.
2. 99% of the class is just watching a lady as she cook. 1% is chopping up some onions. She explains to you what she is doing, but that’s it.
3. She is not a good cook. The Ceviche was average, but the 'aji de gallina' (the reason we went to the class) was terrible.
4. We didn’t get to cook anything. We would have been far better off just using Youtube and trying it in our own kitchen

Dear Ryan,
Thanks for writing a review. But you did not want to do anything so nobody will force you to cook if you do not want. If you were dissapointed with the kitchen it is not our problem. We have a decent kitchen for 5 people. And we also use the dinning room to work. We have no idea how big the kitchens are in Canada but our kitchen is bigger and well equipped than other houses in Peru. If you did not like the food why did you request to go? So you shoul be more condescendent with your review and you must being thankful that we did not charge you extra because of your last minute booking on holiday (Easter). Our chef Amelia was not working but Dora and Samuel did their best in order taht you enjoy your tour. Good vibes!

My parents and I booked the city walking tour & a cooking class with Lima City Tours. Jhony was very responsive, accomodating and friendly. His English is excellent and he gives a good amount of information, not overwhelming.
Unfortunately due to more bookings & sick staff Jhony wasn't able to assist the cooking class. He was superb in not cancelling, rather his sister Dina (who runs the class anyway) took us for the market tour & class. Dina only speaks Spanish (I speak very little Spanglish), we had a blast with my attempted translations. The experience is very authentic as it takes place in Jhony's apartment kitchen! Ceviche, lomo saltado & pisco sours were excellent, the fresh produce unbeatable.
Pros;
• Quick & easy communication WhatsApp
• Flexible times
• Jhony speaks great English
• Friendly & happy to answer questions
• Gave tips on what else to do in Lima
• Last minute arrangements were fine
• Authentic experience (not a commercial cooking school at all)
• Local family involvement
• Cheap prices for service given
Cons;
• The transport is only for pick ups, it wasn't clear that we would have to pay for a cab back. Jhony helped us wave one down which was appreciated.

Dear Emily,
Thanks a lot for writing us a really nice review. It was great to meet your family and you. Actually for our cooking class we also drop our customers off at the hotel and Dina proposed you that but there was a missunderstood and you prefered to walk because your hotel was only 8 blocks far. Eventhough we are so glad that you have enjoyed all our services. Enjoy all your trip. Keep in touch.

Jhony was great at communicating with us and helping guide us to a tour that included all the things we wanted. My sister and I did a private tour so we could hit everything we wanted. We were met promptly at 2 pm by Alex our driver at our hotel and then dropped to downtown Lima where we met Gino our guide. Gino did a great job walking us around the plazas and historical district of Lima. He was very knowledgeable about the history of Peru and provided us with a lot of interesting details. He took us inside the monastery and to the catacombs which I think is a must visit in that area. We also walked through the local market and Chinatown. We covered a lot of ground including the presidential plaza, congress and the catedral. Finally Alex picked us up again and we headed to the Museo Larco. Here, again, Gino was very knowledgeable and explained to us a lot about the different historical civilizations in Peru and the culture and religion behind the different artifacts. We were then dropped off at our hotel. We were very satisfied with the tour and felt we learned a lot. Definitely would recommend it to anyone interested in visiting downtown Lima and the museum. It would have been very difficult to do by ourselves so well.

Arriving by Ship we had just two days to see Lima Peru. We made arrangements with Jhony of Lima City Tours to pick us up at a spot designated by our Cruise ship, and enjoyed a series of 3 tours during our two day stay. Hard to pick a favorite, but the shopping and cooking class gave us a great "taste" of Lima, and a great meal. The evening tour through Barranca and Milaflores was a lot of fun, and I would like to return to both. We ended the evening enjoying the water/light show, on what turned out to be the International Day of the Women, so with a special flare. The next day we met Jhony again at our designated spot, and he took us through the Historical parts of Lima. There is almost too much to see in 4 hours, since I wanted to also find a spot to purchase some coffee beans to take home. We focused on the public buildings, squares and walking streets, as we wanted a flavor of Lima rather than a day of shopping. Jhony delivered everything promised, and made it so easy to cover a lot of ground with a car and driver available as needed.

My husband and I, who are seniors, booked a 1 1/2 day private tour of Lima with Lima City Tours after checking out tours on TripAdvisor. Our cruise ship would be in port for us to visit Lima and the tour choices offered here fit our needs the best. Jhony's email responses were prompt, provided the information we needed, were friendly and professional. We had never been to South America and neither of us are good with languages so we were concerned that we would be able to get a flavor of Lima without a language barrier. Lima Tours was very accommodating in meeting our specific requests for what we'd like to see, especially the history of the area. Our guide Enrique(o?).( unfortunately I was never really sure if I was pronouncing his name correctly, but he was so warm and friendly he didn't seem to notice), was very flexible and happy to share his love of history and the city with us. As we started out on our first day tour, he had the driver, Alex, make an unexpected stop at a whacca (one of the ancient peoples' religious sites) that was private and under excavation in the city. He seemed to know everyone and we were allowed to briefly enter the area to see some of what had been excavated. He continued to share his excellent memory and knowledge of history at the private Larca Museum with fabulous artifacts of many of the different ancient tribes before and through the Incas. Along with the gorgeous gardens, it was an amazing stop. We went on to a mercado, local market in the more upscale Milleflores area of the city and were overwhelmed as we walked around the stalls of fresh meat, vegetables and fruits, spices and so on, while our guide shopped for the ingredients of our lunch. We then went to a private gated home to meet our hostess Dendi?? who was going to show us how to prepare two traditional Peruvian dishes for our lunch. Although she spoke no English, with laughs, gestures, and translations from our guide we had a marvelous time during the over three hours we were there helping prepare the dishes and enjoying the absolutely delicious food, not to mention fresh Pisco sours. We felt like we had a new friend in Lima when we left as she was so gracious during our visit. It was one of the highlights of our trip. In the afternoon Enrique took us to tour more of the historic areas of Lima, including the colonial areas and neighborhoods, the Historic Center(which was mostly closed off due to some demonstrations in the area) and the Iglesia Convento de San Franciso, with views nearby looking out toward the desert around Lima. Traffic in the city is unbelievable and we quickly understood why we needed a driver and a guide--it was basically every car/vehicle for themselves. It would have been impossible for a guide to tell about the city and drive or find parking spaces at the same time. Everyone seemed to know Enrique and he shared his love of Lima with us, including geographic, political and climate information. Our second tour day was half a day where we first drove along the cliffs and beach area of Brranco on the ocean side of Lima, where we saw lovely beaches and surfers as well as old world architecture in the district. We stopped for a walking tour to the Bridge of Sighs and the beautiful square surrounded by artisan shops and restaurants. Then on to the outskirts of Lima to the archeological site of Pachacamac. This working archeological site has a very informative newly opened museum which gives an excellent overview of the histories of the peoples who lived in the site from several thousand years before and up through the time of the Incas. As we were on a private tour our driver was able to take us through most of the site in the car with stops to get out for closer looks at the architecture and digging going on. Again, our guide shared his incredible knowledge with us and was a great sport hiking to the top of the Incan Temple with my husband. I made the trek to the top of the hill, but was too wiped out by the heat and dust of the desert to make it to the top of the temple and the large area beyond. We were overwhelmed by all we saw and experienced of life, past and present in Lima in such a short time. It was all wonderful thanks to our guide and to Alex for avoiding any of the always impending fender benders.
We would definitely recommend any of the Lima Tours to get your money's worth in experiencing the city and environs. Jhony was wonderfully responsive with a last minute change by the cruise ship as to where the ship's shuttle buses would be leaving us to meet tour guides. This change was last minute after the ship's officers were alerted to potential danger in some areas around the port and the city.
It all went smoothly and we will never forget our time in Lima.

Jhony and his colleagues did a wonderful job of helping us enjoy Peru. Excellent communication before and during the trip. He arranged transfers and custom tours for 4 couples at a very reasonable price. We did a city tour, tour of the ruins, water park, Peruvian dancing, cooking with a local family and visit to the Indian Market spread over 3 days. And he taught us to make the best Pisco Sours ever! We recommend Jhony and Lima City Tours very highly - 5 stars indeed!

Me and an elderly friend visited Lima while on a cruise down the coast of South America. We met Jhonny and hired him for a private tour of the main sites of the city. HE WAS AMAZING. I found Jhonny to be very very personal and understanding that we wanted to view specific things and to know a lot about the interesting history of Lima. My friend has trouble with stairs so Jhonny tailored out trip to handle these requirements. Furthermore, we always think that one of the best things of any city is its food and traditions. Johnny was so great. His family history and his knowledge of out of the way places was impressive. I think that anyone working with this particular tour guide will be more than happy... Enjoy all Jhonny has to tell you and show you... I loved Lima... great city.

my girlfriend and me would like to join your cooking class on friday, 7th september, at noon. So that we prepare food for Dinner right? Which dishes will we cook? Is it possible including the visit of a local market?! And how much is it? Please let me know so I can book the course on TripAdvisor or otherwise...
