        Great Food, learned a lot!
This cooking class was a great way to learn about local cuisine and eat delicious food! I really loved learning how to make ceviche as we learned 3 recipes. We started with a tour of the San Pedro market. My family hadn’t previously visited the market and this was a great discovery for us, that we came back to afterwards.

        Great food and experience
This class is perfect for anyone who loves food and wants to learn about the food that is important to Peru. Our guide and chef, Dael, taught us so much in the market and in the kitchen. The dishes we made were wonderful. I would recommend to anyone who wants a calm activity to do while acclimating in Cusco!

        Cooking with friends
This was a highlight of our trip to Peru! Del was an amazing chef and guide. We visited the market and then had a fabulous several course meal. It was a group of us three and another visiting chef- more like a group of friends cooking than anything formal. Trout ceviche in many forms was a delight!

        Great authentic cooking class!
Mauricio was a great host - the tour of the market was very interesting, and the food was great, especially the ceviche. A great way to learn about Peruvian food and a low stress way to spend some time while you acclimate to the elevation in Cusco. Highly recommend.

        Engaging and delicious food!
Mauricio was a wonderful host! The market experience was beautifully expressed, we tried chocolate, cheese and learned about the different vendors, products, produce, and prepared meals. He was friendly a patient with my 11 year old. The cooking experience was perfect!! Clean and smoothly organized so we knew exactly what to do. It felt peaceful, engaging, and friendly the whole time. I highly recommend this for grownups or families.

        Culinary Delights in Cusco
We started by touring the market and picking up supplies for the meal we were about to cook. We taste tested bread, cheese, and chocolate. We also learned a lot about the food that is grown in Peru. Then we walked back to the studio and made a Pisco Sour, then cooked a meal with many dishes. This was a wonderful experience!

        Amazing!
We were looking to something fun to do on our first day in Cuzco and this cooking class was perfect! We got to do a market tour, make some cocktails and cook as a group and try many new things! Definitely a wonderful way to start our trip and so much fun!

        Super fun Cusco experience
What a fun experience! We were joined by 3 other couples and met Mauricio at the San Pedro market for a wonderful session to learn about food options. We then walked back to the adorable culinary kitchen to do our cooking. All courses (there were 5!) were delicious!

You promised the recipes! where are they?
We have yet to receive the recipes promised during class - instructor said "don't take time to write down the ingredients - I will email the recipes to you all after the class." That was 2 weeks ago. We really enjoyed the class and food was great - don't tell me this is your way of keeping the ingredients/recipes a secret?? for Pisco Sour, Ceviche, and beef dish! Please forward! Diane and Jim You have our email (begins with DBrink)

        Great course in Peruvian cuisine
We were a mixed group of 10 and were shown and participated in the preparation and cooking of Cusco sour, starters mains and desserts. The course was informative, we were able to ask questions and got to eat our dishes. Sadly tge market was closed for cleaning the afternoon of our course but I am sure a visit would only enhance tge day.

This was one of the best coordinated vacations I’ve ever been on. There was little to no time waiting around to do things! You also got to see Peru and what it has to offer from a more personal perspective. As well, the staff are extremely friendly and understanding on the change in culture and environment! Strongly recommend!

We recently returned from this tour and had a perfect experience. We were on a girls trip for a bucket list adventure to Machu Picchu. Everything went as planned and we could not have been happier. Starting with the booking with Grethel to the sightseeing with Alvaro, it was a dream trip. Our transfer drivers were always prompt, the hotels were very nice and we learned so much on all our tours. We had triple accommodations and we were happily surprised to have 3 beds in all our hotels. I will recommend Cultural Immersion Travel to anyone I know that will be visiting Peru!

Highly recommend Cultural Immersions. Our coordinator Grethel was great from the moment we made reservations. She answers questions/messages in a timely manner. This was our first time traveling across a country to multiple states (Lima, Cusco, Ollyatombo, Machu Picchu) with multiple modes of transportation (plane, train and car) and staying in multiple hotels (Mariel in Lima, Illa in Cusco, Ferre in Machu Picchu). It was well organized and everything went smoothly. The hotels were nice, clean, and had excellent service. Our stay at each hotel was very comfortable. All of the hotels were within walking distance to restaurants if preferred. We ate in the restaurants in 2 of the 3 hotels. The food was delicious. Our drivers (Fernando, Roberto, Carlos) from the airports, to the hotel and tourist attractions and our tour guides (Edward, Rodrigo) were the absolute best. Our guides were very knowledgable, patient and willing to adjust. Peru is beautiful and rich in history. There are lots of beautiful Cathedrals and ecological/archeological sites to visit. It's impossible to visit and learn the history without a guide. Yesterday was the last day of our Cultural Immersion tour. We are very pleased. This tour is as advertised. Cultural Immersion ensures the modes of travel (car ride from the airport to the hotel, car ride to the train station, train ride to Machu Picchu city and bus ride to the site) and tickets into the historical sites are booked. We booked our rountrip domestic flight from Lima to Cusco. Cultural Immersion set the standard for tour companies. Because of our experience with Cultural Immersion, I would definitely plan a multi-destination vacation again.

This was an amazing trip thank you to Roma, our travel agent, Mario, our tour guide and Maximo, our driver!

Although we picked the 6 days Private tour, with the help of Roma we were able to customize it to an 8 days trip and it was perfect! Roma was very accomodating and responsive to my emails and phone calls. I had never been to Peru before and I had endless questions but Roma was very easy to work with! THANK YOU ROMA!

The main goal of our trip was to visit Machu Pichu (MP) and getting to it was an amazing journey! All the airports, hotels, site visits, train transfers were handled perfectly! Given that we slept at 4 different hotels, it felt seamless and easy to check in and out. Also, I was only traveling with my 16 year old daughter and we felt safe at all times.

We were received by Mario and Roma in Cusco and welcomed in with cookies, tea and local souvenirs! So sweet of them! The drive from Cusco to Machu Pichu was so cool! Maximo did a GREAT job driving us thru all the towns and some very tiny roads! We stopped at various point of interest from local markets, restaurants to salt mines and archaeological sites. Mario was very knowledgeable of the area and Inca culture. One of the days we stopped at "Villas de Maras" for lunch and the view was astonishing! We ate a really good lunch outdoors facing the gorgeous mountains with snowy tops! We just couldn't get enough of this place. Visited the salt mines in Maras and the spectacular archaeological site in Moray. Made it to the train station and the views from the train we just beautiful! We took the 2-day inca trail and were dropped off at KM 104 from where we hiked for about 7 hrs to MP (all well worth it!!). Mario has hiked this trail endless times and knew where to stop for breaks, pictures, and lunch! He filled the hike with plenty of history and even played the local flute for us while having lunch at this one waterfall! It was an amazing experience to get to MP. THANK YOU Mario!

I wish we had more time, Peru has so many beautiful places to visit.

Thank you to Roma, Mario and Maximo!

We came across "Cultural Immersion" during our research for a planned trip to Peru in July 2024. We were lucky to do so, as the office team led by Natasja was there throughout the planning process, and answered the questions we had in a timely fashion-typically within a day.

We decided upon the "Incan Wonders- Best Short Peru Visit," which included visits to Umasbamba, Maras, kayaking on Waypo Lake, Ollantaytambo, Machu Picchu, Cusco & Lima. Our guide Alvaro & driver Carlos where fantastic throughout the tour. Alvaro was an encyclopedia of knowledge, and was kind, flexible & made our trip truly memorable. Carlos was timely, considerate & efficient, everything a driver should be, especially in a different country/continent.

The transfers between areas were well-timed & thought through, while the restaurant selections where awesome- truly reflecting the uniqueness of Peruvian cuisine. Overall, the experience of the trip was awesome, and we would highly recommend Cultural Immersion.

      Thank you to the team!

We did a private tour for 2 people from Lima to Cusco, the Sacred Valley, and Machu Picchu. The company's agent Grethel was happy to customize our tour and answer all of our questions immediately. There was a mix-up about our arrival date in Lima and our driver was not there to pick us up, which we were not happy about, but the company immediately contacted us to refund our taxi fare and offer us a special tour of Lima the next day. In Lima our driver/guide Luis was super nice and helpful. Alvaro was our guide from Cusco to Machu Picchu and he did an outstanding job. He was full of knowledge, spoke good English (and helped me practice my Spanish!), patiently answered all of our questions, and customized each activity based on what we wanted to do. I highly recommend this tour!

Our friends had used Cultural Immersion for a tour for two couples, and my husband and I wanted a private tour of Peru (including Lake Titicaca) as a special birthday trip. My husband is an anxious traveler, and this company successfully helped both of us to relax and appreciate the beauty, history, and especially people of the country. Every detail of our trip was carefully orchestrated by Silvia in the Cultural Immersion office. She was easily accessible before and during our trip. After starting in Lima, we had the same wonderful tour guide, Alvaro, for our time beginning in Cusco until our flight back to Lima several days later. We also had outstanding drivers (which is no easy feat in Peru). Our accommodations, the food provided to us, and all the sights and activities were custom designed to meet our specific needs. At one point, there was a small issue with a hotel, and Silvia was right on top of things to make us happy. And we felt the price was reasonable, given our personalized tour. I can't imagine going to Peru and using any other tour company. We think that Cultural Immersion deserves all the positive feedback they have gotten.

The whole tour was an amazing experience! All the transfers and transportation were done to perfection. Our guide, Mario, was fantastic! He was very knowledgeable about the area, the culture and the sites we visited! He was very conscientious and aware of potential issues that could arise due to some health issues of members of our party. Our accommodations were great! I especially loved the Villa de Maras Lodge and waking up to the glaciers on the Andean mountains!
I loved Machu Picchu! Sacred Valley was amazing and Mario made the sites very interesting.
I highly recommend this adventure and Cultural Immersion to provide the guide!!

This was a first time traveling abroad. So glad that we chose Cultural Immersion. From the moment we met our awesome tour guide (Mario) and our skillful driver (Carlos), we knew we were in good hands. It would have been nearly impossible to find our way around and to learn about the various sites without the guided tour. It was not intrusive having a private guide as Mario felt like he was one of our friends that we were hanging around with. And he is so knowledgeable with interesting stories of the Inca culture. The hotels are first rate, particularly the beautiful Villas De Maras Lodge where we were treated like royalty while we took in the amazing vistas. Machu Picchu was the highlight of the trip but all the sights were beautiful and simply amazing. The trip was very organized, email communications beforehand were top notch, the in-country plane trips were well handled and we never had any complications. Thank you so much!
