About the operator

- Kettleviski0 contributionsNice animal hunting jungle tour!I had a very enjoyable trip here. The tour guide Andres was very attentive and responsible. He explained a lot of local legends and knowledge about animals and plants! We found a lot of animals and took some really nice photos. Beside, I traveled to this place alone, and the tour guide's seriousness and attention made me feel very safe!Written February 23, 2024
- ss s0 contributionsUnforgettable experience, perfect amazonian trip.Communication and service right from the minute i booked was fantastic. I had to make some last minute date changes of which the agency were more than accommodating staying in contact throughout until i was met at the airport. I was met at the airport by Jorge my tour guide who was immidiately very welcoming and vibrant. He ensure i was ok and my luggage was safe and we promptly made our way to the port. We made our way by River on the River Amazon which was amazing and arrived at the lodge of which we were welcomed by a lovely, warm, traditional family in a tradional lodge which made me feel i was in an authentic environment. Exactly what i was after. The amenities were spot on and i was fed very good food, nice tasting, fresh and large portions. The guide asked me in advance of any preferences or intolerance so they could ensure i was fed well. Just what you need in the jungle! Jorge was our guide throughout, we did multiple excursions, some of which were additonal to what we requested or chopped and changed around to suit what we wanted to see or adapt to oir experience. He had such a good native knowledge of the area, culture, animals, natives and general wildlife which was so rewarding. He is a flambouyant exciting character who was catering for everything we needed plus more. We had such a variety of excursions it was constantly keeping us entertained and in awe of the experience. We saw all of the animals we came to see plus more, we experienced an authentic tribe, went fishing for piranhas, went hiking in the desert, saw some huge taratulas, monkeys, birds, natives, the floating town, learnt about so many different species of ant and tree and their medicinal purposes and most importantly the interaction and attributes of all of the above as well as the history. It was so interesting and eye opening as to how it all vomes together. We felt very safe, well looked after and more than anything satisfied with the experience. I feel a lot more educated now with amazing stories and knowledge i can talk about forever. Its always a risk travelling halfway around the word for a once in a lifetime opportunity for such a trip and this is one where i know i made the right decision of which i will never forget.Written December 28, 2023

An incredible trip to the Peruvian Jungle. We did visit Manu and had an amazing experience but were quite excited to visit Iquitos as it is secluded from mainland Peru and we heard a lot of things from people we met. We booked the tour through Peru Jungle Trips office near main square in Cusco. They even went ahead and organised transfer from the airport in Iquitos. Yes, we did spot many more distinct animals, birds and plant species in Iquitos. The lodges were well located in the midst of the jungle. The staff were very courteous and always served us with a smile.

My recent Amazon tour was an unforgettable experience. For anyone seeking an authentic taste of the Amazon, this tour is highly recommended. While it doesn’t venture deep into the Amazon, the tour offers exceptional value. The lodge, the breathtaking scenery, the diverse wildlife, and particularly our guide, George, were all outstanding.
George was a standout element of the trip. His extensive knowledge, experience, and kindness made the journey extraordinary. Despite his modesty about his English, he communicated perfectly. George went above and beyond to fulfill all my requests, demonstrating a genuine willingness and eagerness to assist.
I am immensely grateful to the lodge and, most importantly, to George. If you’re considering an Amazon tour, this experience is truly worth its weight in gold.

A trip to remember, we saw so many interesting posts about Iquitos back home while browsing for trips in Peru and the intriguing aspect was that the place is secluded from the mainland Peru and is accsessible by boat or air. We booked this tour while in cusco through Wilfredo and he was exceptionally nice and gave us añll insights. He also went ahead and took care of the airport transfers in Iquitos which was quite a relief. The tour was well planned and extrmely well organised with no flaws. We spotted so many interesting animals, birds and plant species. This just could not have been any more interesting.

What a trip! Highly recommend this for a truly authentic and adventurous experience of the Amazon. George was a truly incredible guide, so knowledgable and took me on wild expeditions through mangroves and dense jungle! The food was also delicious - I tried such a variety of dishes - even tried Piranhas! I felt like I was part of the family during my stay. Note, there’s no wifi or air conditioning at the lodge and limited electricity and the accommodation is basic, but you feel at one with nature!

Iquitos was a dream destination. I read a lot about this remote island of Peru that is not linked to the mainland by road. The tour was phenomenal. So many animals, birds and more. It was incredibly well organised. Highly reccomend the company.

We had the pleasure of taking an Amazonian adventure with Allpayacu, and enjoyed being in the depths of the Amazon Jungle, seeing the wildlife (4 varieties of monkeys, insects, many birds, sloth, pink and grey river dolphins, jungle rat, fish, caiman), the beautiful river, and fantastic sunrise and sunset over the river. We experienced a torrential downpour of rain/ storm which was also unique. The accommodation is basic (as described) - cold showers, flushing toilets, beds with insect screens and electricity between 6-9pm, with the beauty of no internet for the duration of our stay. There were very few insects which surprised and delighted us. We ate our well prepared meals in a communal dining room, where water, tea and coffee were provided. We had a personal guide and boat driver/ guide assistant who were friendly (spoke limited English) and attentive. Be prepared for humidity and activity, balanced with downtime in the middle of the day. An enjoyable and challenging four days!
Thank you Allpayacu for our adventure!😊
