We had an incredible experience on the Amazon with the Delfin 1 crew. The riverboat itself is exquisitely furnished and luxuriously comfortable - and the food is delicious! The excursions from the boat were well-planned and interesting. We got to experience the Amazon in many ways - jungle walks where we saw a sloth, anaconda and tarantula, river skiffs where we saw lots of bird life and monkeys, swimming and kayaking in the Amazon and visiting local communities. Our guide (Denis) was highly knowledgeable, warm and always flexible in accommodating everyone’s needs. This was a special trip which we will remember forever.

We just returned from a cruise on the LaPerla. The size and cleanliness of the boat, the friendly and knowledgeable crew, and the Amazonian experience was all truelly memorable. We visited villages and learned a lot about their cultures/traditions. We were fortunate to see many pink and grey dolphins, sloths, anaconda, boa, bats, many birds, an assortment of monkeys, capybara (at a rescue), turtles, lizards, etc. Our guides were so knowledgeable and passionate of the Amazon and their culture. We learned so much and loved every minute of this Amazon vacation.

An amazing experience, truly incredible. The staff on the boat are so helpful, kind and nothing is too much trouble. Beckett and Carlos in the dining room along with Charles the barman serving drinks and the amazing 5 course meal in the evenings. The dining area was always immaculate and the buffet breakfast and lunch and the served evening meal were of excellent standard and very yummy. Congratulations to the chef and his team. Robinson and Daniel were amazing naturalists. Their incredible ability to be able to see the smallest of insects or birds from a distance amazed us all. Their wealth of knowledge and great sense of humor helped to make my trip unforgettable. Marcos, the medic, was always on hand. When we went out on excursions , when humidity was high he was, there just in case. Continuously helping and checking that everyone was ok. Emily, the cruise coordinator, who made a difficult job look easy. Always with a smile, ready to help, and provide the best experience for every passenger. Karen who is the masseuse, her hands are magical. The room attendants who keep the rooms spotlessly clean and the beautiful flowers and animals that they surprise you with when you come back from an excursion are incredible talented. The two skip drivers who instantly fill you with a sense of security on the skip and their eagle eyes at helping to spot wildlife. The guys in the engine room and those who help to steer the Zafiro who never seem to tire. The Zafiro band, what can I say, GREAT entertainment. Finally, the most important member of staff, the Captain. Thank you for keeping us safe. Congratulations to all the staff on board and a big thank you to each and everyone of you. You all did a great job. You made my dream a reality and surpassed all expectations.

My sisters and I took our mom on the Aqua Nera as a surprise for her 80th birthday. We came home incredibly impressed and agreed it was indeed the trip of a lifetime. The boat is 6 star!! Huge, luxurious cabins with beautiful bathrooms and furnished like a modern, luxury hotel. 3 times a day housekeeping - including all laundry (back same day, folded). The staff on the boat were so positive, helpful and always went over and above. The wine and cocktails were fantastic - but the food was indescribable. Creative, fresh dishes using local ingredients and a chef that loved sharing the art of his craft. The spaces within the boat - especially the living room/bar were wonderful. Privacy when you needed it - but otherwise a social atmosphere with endless views. The outdoor spaces are well thought out and again offer something for everyone. The naturalists are fountains of knowledge and make the trip! They know where to take you, at what precise time and then bring the Amazon to life day after day. The staff also surprised us with cocktail and appetizers on a sand bar to watch the sunset our last night. What you are expecting - double it! We are already planning our next Aqua adventure! p.s. we never saw a single mosquito.

What an amazing experience! I cannot overstate how much we enjoyed this cruise. The boat is beautiful and the staff are all amazing. Everyone went above and beyond to make the trip great. The nature guides were both extremely knowledgeable and fun. They want you to see and experience everything the Amazon has to offer. Every day has 3 excursions starting bright and early at 6am. Obviously you don't have to go on them all but we didn't want to miss anything. We saw pink river dolphins, monkeys, sloths, cayman, tons of birds. Even an anaconda! We went on the 8 day 7 night and I'm glad we did the full tour. The food was excellent. Breakfast and lunch are both delicious buffets and dinner is a 5 course meal. I think lunch was my favorite but they were all great. Again, the staff was super lovely and amazing. If you are on the fence about this trip, trust me...book it and you will not be disappointed.

Cruise director Emily and a team of true experts on the flora and fauna of the region, naturists Robinson and Daniel, make the experience both educational and highly stimulating. On top of that, the Zafiro offers a culinary experience with elegant multi-course meals, enabling passengers to taste memorable food such as fresh Amazon fish and Peruvian desserts that are impossible to forget. All of the cruise staff we encountered are musicians, believe it or not. Joining the trip was easy by flying to Lima and meeting the tour group mid-morning at the Hilton Hotel in Iquitos. All transfers are arranged. We loved the whole experience!

I have never in my life received the level of personal service that my bride and I received aboard the utterly beautiful Delfin II. The three, three course meals a day were “one better than the last”. Using only the freshest fish, and fruit, and vegetables, grown and caught in and around the River valley near Nauta, the Master Chef and his team turn out one masterpiece after another! Conversation is relaxed and convivial in the dining room, as you can’t help but keep one eye out for dolphins breaching nearby! The guides/naturalists, Sandro, and Jorge, & Javier infuse every outing with their own sense of wonder and excitement! They have walked these paths all their lives, and obviously love nothing more than sharing their knowledge, and their reverence for Amazonia. They were the perfect guides to open our rookie eyes! The housekeeping team seemingly worked around the clock! Every single time we returned from an excursion our room was put together in a perfectly unique way. Mario consistently created a beautiful Pisco Sour, and went well out of his way to make sure that my favorite beer, the Malta, was always chilled and available, while the team leader, Christian, facilitates a seamless experience, from bow to stern. We’d never signed on for a cruise before, but the beauty of the ship, and the country, the small number of passengers, and the quick, professional, personal, and empathetic service we received by way of the internet won us over. Without a doubt it was on the very short list of magical times we’ve spent together in our 44 years of marriage.

A whirlwind 3-day tour to experience what the Amazon jungle has to offer in just three short days. We had an amazing time during this adventure. They kept us busy with activities before, in between and after meal times. This tour was definitely a highlight of our Peruvian adventure. Loved the dolphin-finding-mission, jungle walks, piranha-fishing, star gazing, bird watching and much more! Meals were interesting with many different types of fruit juices I have never seen anywhere else. Rooms were comfortable and swimming pool was a very welcome cooling-down mechanism.

Aqua Expeditions reviews An incredible experience on the Amazon River! We did the 4-night expedition cruise on the Aria Amazon. It was a first-class trip that exceeded our expectations. The ship was luxurious and comfortable. The food was Michelin-star worthy and highlighted the bountiful flavors unique to the region. The crew could not have been more pleasant, eager to assist our every request and anticipated our needs. They had cold drinks and smiles waiting for us after hot days in the Amazonian sun, brought chilled towels during our jungle hike, and insect repellent and hand sanitizer always on the ready. Everything was included in the price (except alcohol, tips, and souvenirs - which is fair); it made travel planning so easy. We saw so many Amazonian animals that the crew went through a long list after just the second full day. Mammals, birds, reptiles, insects - all in the wild and in their natural glory. Our naturalists were incredibly knowledgeable of the animals, plants and region. They made the experience unforgettable, with their eagle eyes to spot animals, superpower quickness to catch predators for our education (and respectfully release them), and encyclopedic knowledge. They, and most (all?) of the crew, are from the local areas so their ability to educate us from their deep and personal understanding of the life, culture and people on the Amazon River was truly special. Their focus on sustainability was meaningful. We were very pleased with our trip - and are eager to try Aqua Expeditions’ other cruise destinations.

Bugs, no electricity, cold water showers and we had the best time of our life!! Everyone was wonderful! The dining staff was so eager to please and the food was different for every day and meal and totally delicious. You couldn’t go hungry there! The room was perfect with the sounds of the jungle and the hammocks to rest on, on the porch! Fresh water and towels everyday. But the absolute best was our guide, Edgar. He could not have been more accommodating for our group of ten family members. When we were late getting there our first day, we told him we wanted to do EVERYTHING! And he managed to work everything in, along with two kayaking trips, two fishing for pirrhana trips. No one could have worked harder to please us. His knowledge of all things, Amazon, was beyond belief! From our sunset boat tour, to our daytime and night time boat excursions, daytime and night time hikes in the jungle, spotting pink dolphins and swimming in the Amazon River! And a medicinal plant hike. I could never name the number of animals and birds we saw, from three toed sloths to four different kinds of monkeys, including the American Pygmy marmoset, anaconda, two kinds of boas, lizards galore, tarantulas, which we held, scorpions, pirrhannas and too many birds to mention! And Edgar was so helpful to me who has some mobility issues and eyesight difficulties. He made sure I saw everything and even took photos and videos for me! I can’t thank you enough, Edgar and all the staff and Muyana Lodge itself for this experience I will NEVER forget

How to persuade you that, if you have the means, this is the trip for you without spoiling the many surprise delights that await? Our family went on the Aria as a celebration of my mother-in-law’s 80th birthday. I had never been on a cruise before and am generally averse, primarily due to the environmental costs; however, you can feel good about this one: the Aria is operated with many principles of sustainability and the crew members are knowledgeable and mindful stewards of the people and place that they share with their guests, including conservation projects and investments. Service starts at above and beyond, and elevates from there; our group needed both dietary and physical accommodations, and we were met with kindness and grace. The menu is not only delicious and inventive (and bountiful!), it is also a love letter to the flavors and traditions of Peru. My youngest son tried more new things during our week aboard the Aria than he has in the past year! The vessel is fantastic - a beautiful and comfortable home-away-from-home and launch point for the numerous remarkable excursions. I hope you will treat yourself to this amazing experience - there’s so much detail I’m not sharing in hopes you’ll have a chance to experience the Amazon on Aria yourself! What started as a tremendous splurge ultimately felt like a value. (Andrew at Adventure Smith was our US-based travel representative, and did a fantastic job supporting us with logistics and preparing us for the journey.)

Stay away from this company!!! The Amazon is a great thing to see, but please use a different company and a different boat. I booked through Rainforest Cruises and stayed on La Perla. I paid for an upgraded room, they sent me a picture and it looked great. Then when I arrived at the boat I was booked in another smaller room, nothing like the one in the picture. In my opinion it was either a case a blatant false advertising or just plain dishonesty gouging the client. I wrote them about the witch in cabins to a substandard cabin for what I was paying, and now they don't even answer my emails. They just took my money and ran. If you want to visit the Amazon definitely go, but please pick a company that is honest and keeps it word and stay on a boat that is willing to help resolve issues. On the positive side the two naturalists were very good.

We had a wonderful experience on the Aqua Nera in the Amazon. The staff on the boat was attentive & helpful, even cooking a special pasta dish for one lunch & one dinner for my Italian wife! The nature guides were knowledgeable and at the same time, very funny. From the breakfast on the skiffs to a cocktail party on the skiffs on our last nite, everything was top notch. Definitely a great way to visit this wild part of Peru

Wow, what an ex-STREAM-ly memorable experience. I am one picky customer but I have nothing bad to say. My 4-day trip was so well planned, it really feels like they thought of everything. The facilities look exactly like the photos - you can expect gorgeous common areas that are well-designed and extremely photogenic. Our room was spotless (I especially loved that they service the room three times a day!) with comfortable beds and a hot shower. Our trip was filled with thoughtful touches like cold towels after excursions, complimentary rubber boots to simplify packing, abundant bug spray, and surprise refreshments just when you need it. I found the itinerary to be well-planned to cover a lot of ground but not at all exhausting. The staff definitely makes the trip - I found every single person to be professional and friendly, full of smiles and ready to be of service. English was no problem at all but it was still fun to practice my poor Spanish with the crew. Special shout-out to the naturalist guides who were just so impressive - knowledgeable, personable, and all blessed with incredible eyesight. It's all truly full service. I would highly recommend to anyone interested in experiencing the magic of The Amazon River.
