The adventure was simple style camping with nice hammocks and mosquito nets.
The cook prepared home made meals the whole time!
The reserve itself was beautiful and our guide, Adriano, was an excellent outdoorsman.
Both he and the cook, Llersino, could make all sorts of animal calls and were so, so good at spotting all of the jungle creatures!!
Very, very good guide and great trip all around ❤️

Giovanni thanks fro your review. Camping is a forever lasting memory and to make it even better we provide tents, inflatable matresses, hammocks and the best staff. On behalf of Jungle Reps we thank you so much for choosing us to show you the best part of the amazon. Best regards.

We joined "Pacaya Samiria Extreme 04 days and 03 nights". While Choosing the right tour, Luis the founder of jungle reps, answered our questions over WhatsApp and Email immediately. See also the jungle reps homepage!!
As we arrived in Iquitos, one day in advance to the trip, Adriano our Guide, visited us at our accommodation and briefed us for the next four days.
In the morning Adriano picked us up. The luggage, we didt'n need at the tour, was stored in the office in Iquitos. In Nauta, we changed to the boat and went upwards the amazon river to our first camp. We slept the tree nights in hammocks and changed the camp for every night. Sleeping in middle of the jungle was a great experience. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were fresh made, really good and a lot. We got rice, vegetables, chicken, fish, bread, eggs,... Also fruits and fresh made fruit juice.
Adriano our guide was very experienced in the jungle. He knows a lot about flora and fauna. He took care about us and we felt secure all the time. The second man, our boatsdriver/cook/campmanager/juniorguide was also well experienced in the jungle.
We did walks trough the forest by day, night, morning and evening, took boat rides to search for animals, fished, and bathed in the river. We saw pink and grey dolphins, monkeys, bushdogs, bats, parrots, water turtles, piranhas,...
All in all we had four great days in the Amazon. I can really recommend the jungle reps.

The tour itself was well planned, we had a lot of fun and learned a lot about flora and fauna. We would book this tour with Jungle Reps again anytime!

Touring the Amazon is such an adventure. The highlight for us was getting to play with monkeys for over an hour! This is a great way to see the amazon in a protected zone rather than a zoo type environment. You get to see the animals in their natural habitat (we saw monkeys, sloths, pink dolphins, piranhas, hawks, mccaws, Kingfishers, alligators, frogs and so much more) alot of your time is spent searching for the different animals but you will see plenty of birds and other creatures along the way. Our guide Carlos and assistant were awesome, very knowledgeable, helpful, fun and entertaining. Carlos is very dedicated to trying to find the animals and get you photos, sometimes we got tired of searching and would have been happy giving up the search (although our fault for not making this clear - really we just wanted to go back and play with the monkeys :D).
The last night camping was a very unique experience, gave us the chance to sleep alot rougher in the amazon and do things ourselves such as setting up the tent and covers and cooking on an open fire. It rained heavily on this night with lots of lightening which made it difficult to sleep but was definitely an adventure to write home about. I think a 3-4 day trip was enough for us to get a lot out of it and I wouldnt recommend shorter, longer might be good if you were going to different areas or deeper into the jungle.

I had an amazing adventure with the Jungle Reps in the Amazon. Luis is a very reliable operator and he did it all by himself, he also accompanied guests to the jungle lodge by himself and sometimes took his family along. The whole trip felt very authentic with homestay experiences in the lodge, really good homemade food and drinks provided (sometimes with wine and beer), and excellent tour guides who are really passionate about their jobs. I personally recommend Adriano! We had unforgettable adventures in the Amazon rainforest, including piranha fishing and overnight camping. The fees might it a little bit high, but totally worth it!

I booked this tour for $830. I didn"t received the service.
The main issue is the lodge and lodge location. For the high price, I should be placed in a nice lodge in Reserve National Pacaya Samiria, which is what I booked. Instead, I was placed in a poor lodge about 1 hour by a city outside of the Reserve. There is not much wildlife around. The surrounding of lodge is in poor condition.
The lodge itself is in poor conidtion. I was not even provided with bath soap and I couldn"t take a shower. There is no hot water either.
The food provided was poor too. The first day lunch was just a can of tuna and dinner was just a few scrambled eggs. I was there on vacation, not on starvation. I decided to cancel the trip and return.
As a comparison, I just completed two jungle tours right before this tour. The tour at Manu National Park was for 5N and costed me only $1132 by local trekker. I was provided with a cook, driver, boat capitain, naturalist guide. I was provided with fruits, vegatables, meats, drink and juice daily for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I had two lodges. One of the lodge had hot water shower. Both were provided with bath utensils.
The tour at Puerto Maldonado costed me only $600 for 4D and 3N by a company called JunglePro (thank god it was not JungleReps). I had beautiful wildlife even on the lodge campus ground. The lodge has beautiful gardens. There were families of monkeys and birds on the lodge grounds. The lodge also had hot water shower and bath utensils.
In summary, the tour operator may be in financial distress as I was informed. I was requested many times before the trip to pay in advance. I was told the inflection is high so I need to pay in advance so they can purchase supplies for trip. In the end, the tour operator didn´t purchase anything in advance. The tour operator just packed the money and provided minimum.
Because of the poor performance of this tour operator, I wasted my vacation time, my pretrip hotel stays, my flight to the tour location and back. It was a total disaster.

Dear guest
Thank you very much for your review despite is not adjusted to the truth we will proceed to reply you.
We want to inform you that we were in doubt regarding to your different mails because your original complaint doesnt match with the last ones.
I will attach your original mail to this reply:
"I reserved a jungle tour for 4 days for a total of $850. It rained and the tour was canceled. I had reached out the tour operator beforehand to see if the tour needs to be canceled but I was ensured everything will be fine. I went out for 1 day, had to return on the 2nd day due to rain. In addition, there are other issues with the tour. I paid a high price to go to Reserve National Pacaya Samiria. But I was put into a very basic lodge just outside of the city. The lodge has no hot water nor shower soap. There is not much wildlife around as I was not in the Reserve. The first day lunch was just a can of tuna and dinner was a just a few scrambled eggs. I returned the next day"
Before we reply a message we do investigate and our guide reported that you had a great time you took a lot of pictures, you explored the jungle, you visited many places.
Despite you were reimbursed all the money you paid, you did enjoyed part of the service and the fair way is that you had to request the part you think you did not enjoyed but fair is a word that doesnt match with you because my staff they get paid, even the tuna and eggs they costed too but it is fine there is still fair persons on earth.
The lodge we have is one of the best of the area and it is located in the buffer zone of the reserve Pacaya Samiria and as you said it has no hot water and we agree, it is a basic lodge screened with mosquitos nets, private shower, flush toilet and the same information we have in our website, and we want to aplogize because soap was forgotten to be placed in the shower by our cabin boy, i recommend you nex time to get informed where you visit because not all protected areas are allowed to have lodges inside, We have refugees named (camps inside Pacaya Samiria reserve) but they are much more rustic this is why this information you can find also in our site. Pick up time was 8 am and you didnt arrive to our lodge at 9 am as you mention only one hour. You arrived at 12 pm. You did 2 hours by taxi (private) and 2 more hours by boat. Why dont you mention this?
Regarding the food you are right we did not serve the 1st day because we couldnt find fresh meet before you go and next day we had guests coming with fresh meet. But I want to tell you that in few more times we will be serving mostly vegetables because of ecological reasons.
We are not financial distress otherwise you never were going to have your money back.
You also mentioned that we didnt buy anything:
The guide that were with you is paid in advance
The private auto that took you to Nauta runs with gas
The boat that took you to our "poor lodge" uses gas and driver
The "scrambled eggs and tuna" used gas to become scrambled
Driver in the jungle gets paid before you arrive
Boat excursion also uses gas
Entrance fee to Yarapa reserve allowed to get in because we also paid
Boat back to Nauta also uses gas
Private auto back to Iquitos also uses gas and driver. What do you think if we dont pay? Driver will not want to work and there will not be gas. Easy to understand that you are lying in many ways.
Why dont you write the truth:
You wanted to cancel 2 days before because you had enough jungle alreay somewhere.
You also complaint about the rain; You booked 2 years ago before pandemia and you knew since then you are coming to the Rainforest it is amazing. We have pictures of you having a great time and great weather.
We will stop keep writing of other datails but we recomend you to keep the truth wherever you go. As we do it.
Have a great day.

My brother and I recently completed the 4D/3N Pacaya Samiria Adventure with JungleReps. Everything was fantastic! We can't recommend them enough. We saw too many monkeys to count, macaws, river dolphins, toucans, sloths, and much much more. Our guides, Marden and Gerson, were knowledgeable and skilled and kept us feeling safe/cared for at all times. Despite the remote nature of this adventure, we ate like royalty each night, thanks to our chef/navigator, Jose. I can't recommend this company enough!

I definitely made the right choice by booking my 3 days 2 nights Discovery Adventure with Jungle Reps. Firstly because Luis was promptly available to answer by WhatsApp all my questions and provide suggestions. When I met Luis the day I arrived at Iquitos, I got a good feeling about him. While talking to Luis, we arranged an extra private day tour as he was available for that day and could accommodate the 2 places I wanted to go to (very flexible tour). Recommend to ask everything so you don’t have doubts and be on the same page. The only thing that made me uncomfortable was to pay the remaining of the trips that night. But all went well and I can really say Luis is reliable and will make sure you have a great time during the trips if you decide to go with Jungle Reps.
Second, all trip was well arranged. Luis came to pick me and other couple and took us to Nauta where we got the boat till the lodging site. We slept in the lodge, where the accommodation is simple but had all the necessary infrastructure. I felt very comfortable there. At the lodge we met our fabulous guides Adriano and Jerson. They were impeccable!! Both are very kind, super knowledgeable and made us feel super safe. Plus, Adriano has the gift of storytelling!!! During the stay, we were provided with fresh and delicious food, including chicken, fish, rice, yucca, veggies for salad, fruits and fresh made fruit juices. Luis makes sure the water is from reliable source, the meat is transported on ice and all is handles with hygiene standards.
We did go for boat tours, morning, afternoons and evenings. We also went for a walking tours and temptative piranha fishing, which I can say is a challenge, a big one. They are super smart creatures. We saw dolphins every day, monkeys, macaus, tucan, tree bats, tiny tree boa snake, sloths, tarantulas, eagles, frogs (inside the lodge) and some shiny “lagarto” eyes popping at the water surface. We were unlucky that we did not find the giant frogs nor other snakes during our tour. We also got to swim in the 2 river junctions, super nice. The only think that made this excursion a bit unpleasant was the tons of moskitoes wanting fresh blood. So, do bring tons of strong repellent. Yet, it is so damn worthy! Beautiful landscapes. During the nights, if no clouds, the sky is magical, full of shiny stars! Magical!
Overall, If you are planning to do a jungle excursion, I definitely recommend Jungle Reps. Just remember, its really a jungle excursion, basic accommodation, basic food, don’t expect to see every single animal species. Keep your expectations low and feel blessed to have guides like Adriano that knows much and Jerson that has eagle eyes that will do whatever they can to find the animals and still respect their habitat. In that matter, I also wish you can respect the fauna and flora, and the rest of the environment. Have a memorable time. I for sure did!

Our 4 day trip to Pacaya-Samiria was amazing.
First of all, we couldn't ask for a better guide than Adriano. He is a warm, attentive, fun person, and a very experienced guide. The other guide/ boat driver/ cook (sadly I don't know his name) was fun and knowledgeable as well, and he seemed super comfortable in the jungle.
We stayed in hammocks in 2 different campsites. The food was good and a lot. We went for boat rides in the early mornings and evenings, and for day hikes. One of the best experiences was a hike in the rain, crossing streams, getting absolutely soaked, and swimming in the river.
Luis was very easy to communicate with from the beginning, and the organisation was good. Overall I would recommend Jungle Reps to anyone.

Recently did this tour with a friend and had a fantastic time! Everything was very easy and Luis came to our hostel to explain how everything would work and what we should bring so we could be well prepared. Our guide Marden had good English and was very helpful in explaining all the flora and fauna we saw. The beds were comfortable and had good mosquito nets and the lodge itself was in a great location where we could see plenty of animals. The food was great and everything felt very safe and well organized. Would highly recommend giving Junglereps a call if interested.
