- sfagan270 contributionsExcellent Peruvian Cooking Class! My fiance and I did this cooking class back in May of 2018. The chefs were excellent! Very informative, encouraging, and helpful. Also, the tour of the local market was a really interesting! We made a potato salad appetizer with avocado, lomo saltado for the entree, a chocolate dessert, and a pisco sour to wash it all down! I highly recommend taking a cooking class from them!Written April 26, 2020
- JanMa960 contributionsPeruvian cooking experienceMe and my brother did a cooking class with Mayra and Flor. Before we started with the cooking we went to the market to buy the all the needed ingredients. Both chefs are very friendly and have lots of knowledge about the peruvian cuisine and the local ingredients. It was a lot of fun and the dishes tasted amazing. I can highly recommend this course.Written March 5, 2020
- adiggcamp0 contributionsAmazingHad half a day spare in Cusco and wanted to try something a little different. Absolutely loved it. Going to the market was a special experience in itself let alone the cooking. Can absolutely recommend this!Written February 24, 2020
- jonathanrM7690BX0 contributionsFun and great valueI had a few hours to kill before my flight out of Cuzco and decided to look for cooking classes on a whim since I knew they would fit my timeline. I found Peruvian Cooking Classes and went with a friend. We had a lot of fun and the class was excellent. The price was also amazing. The guides were interesting and fun and walking around the market while the guide explained the ingredients to us was a very unique experience. The food we made also tasted great and I will be making it again at home. Great value and a great experience!Written January 19, 2020
- Jwint920 contributionsDefinitely Recommend: Delicious three-course meal and excellent guidanceWe took part in the 'Full Classic Peruvian Cooking Class' and were lucky enough to be the only people taking part on the day that we booked, but rather than rescheduling us they went ahead and gave us a private session! We selected Menu #1: Quinoa Soup, Aji de Gallina, and Chocotejas and learned to cook a truly delicious meal that I'm going to try and reproduce at home in the UK. Mayia and Reyna were excellent teachers, taking us through each step and being patient (with me, as I'm a rubbish cook. My girlfriend got most things first time!). It also really helped that they spoke excellent English. We went out to the central market to buy fresh ingredients - a great insight into Peruvian culture, and on the way there stopped off in their sister school to try some free chocolate samples. Overall it lasted a few hours including the eating and drinking, and was an excellent way to spend the afternoon. We've done a lot of trekking and looking at historical sights, so it was a nice change of pace, and I feel like I learned something. The company sends you the recipes afterwards, and tells you to get in touch if you need any further guidance in recreating the recipes back at home.Written January 2, 2020
- Tina B0 contributionsCooking class and chocolate makeingI was impressed by the food I tasted here in Cusco and figure out this great offer how to make this lovely food. I made lomo saltado, amazeing combination of tastes together. Will for sure do this when I get back home. I did also the chocolate makeing corse. So lovely to learn step by step how to make this from scratch and make your own pieces and also taste the original cup of chocolate how it was prepared to begin with, and also the vertion we know now, all made from selfroasted beans. So cool! Have to mention the lovely people offering theese great happenings. They are so full of patience and make you feeling so comfortable. Higly recomend them!Written December 29, 2019
- Arianniux0 contributionsBuy, cook and eat like a real Peruvian! We were very very lucky with this amazing experience! First, we were by ourselves which of course made the experience more rewarding as we had a private cooking class! But also, we enjoyed the experience a lot! From going to San Pedro Market to buy the ingredients to eating our amazing food! Reyna and Flor were amazing! Reyna explained ya many things about the food and the ingredients in the market which was amazing! We were able to try artesanal chocolate and cook and eat delicious Lomo Saltado and a pisco sour! Reyna even gave us some tips to cook with the ingredients we have home! Totally worth it!Written December 25, 2019
- Kmellon900 contributionsCeviche and pisco!Had so much fun learning to make ceviche and pisco sours. All the food we made was delicious and Pedro was amazing, patient and answered every question we had regarding the food. Highly recommend for a unique experience whilst in Cusco.Written November 28, 2019
- tonyhoffman0 contributionsI learned how to make lomo saltado and aji de gallinafun, interesting, helpful, informative. I really enjoyed the trip to San Pedro market, and learning about many different types of Andean menusWritten November 22, 2019
- bartb12180 contributionsRecommended for foodies!First and for all, you don't need to be a professional cook to join these classes. The level is very basic so everyone can join. After a visit to the local market, where you buy the needed ingredients, you prepare a three course meal. In our case the class was hosted by Mayra (cook) and Flor (assistent). Thanks to Myra we learned a lot on the Peruvian cuisine. I highly recommend this class for everyone who loves food!Written November 21, 2019
- CHRISTI19600 contributionsFabulous Cooking ClassWhile visiting Cusco, I found this company while on a walk around town. I was impressed from the start. Clean and bright kitchen in the middle of the space, counter space around the perimeter, hand written recipes on walls... I signed up for a cooking class. To my surprise I was the only client that night. Mayra, the head chef, escorted me to the Mercado around the corner to buy the ingredients. Every vegetable was hand picked. I learned much about the local foods from this visit. Also, appreciated that Mayra spoke English, though most of the lesson was in Spanish. I’m learning Spanish, and enjoyed practicing my Spanish. We prepared the meal together. Lots of opportunity to chop, measure, cook. She gave me much Info about the traditional cuisine of Peru. It was fascinating! And we enjoyed our meal together. Delicious and Beautiful! I am taking another class this weekend with friends. Can’t wait!Written October 24, 2019

We had an amazing experience with Fredy! Everything was great from the purchases in the San Pedro market to the class. And most important, the food was delicious. I highly recommend this course, Fredy and his team will make everything they can to make you feel comfortable and will also adapt the menu according to your preferences/allergies.

Pedro offered a cooking class just for me for the same price as a group cooking class. Pedro is a good cook (and educates teacher as well!) that likes to share his experiences about cooking to others. Unfortunately our starter got burned, but that happens ;) we cooked a delicious ceviche after buying the ingredients at the San Pedro market.

Only the two of us. Started with fruit tasting, then a shopping list for purchase in the San Pedro market a short walk away. Mix a Pisco Sour, followed by making Ceviche and Lomo Saltado followed by a couple of chocolates. We had a main chef and another person running around clearing up and cooking elements around us. Good fun.

Absolutely fantastic experience at Pete’s Cooking Classes, run by the wonderful Dalia. She was enthusiastic and informative and spoke brilliantly in English and Spanish, teaching us all about the food we were making and how to make the best pisco sour!
Loved starting at the market and buying the food we needed for the meal, it was great to make it all from scratch, which was delicious!

I arrived to the class solo, and joined other people taking the class. Chef Javi took us to the market, we had a really nice tour with explanations, and bought ingredients for the cooking part. Then we cooked 3 course meal, had some fresh fruit to try, and made pisco sour. Very fun activity, great chef, and great food! I highly recommend

Pete was an amazing teacher and he's a great person too. I was in the class by myself and eventually got elevation sickness ans he helped me by providing some tea and took things slow.
Asides that, I really enjoyed the class and the food itself was yummy!
If you're considering this, do it!!!
