About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- kristieocd0 contributionsOne of our favourite adventures in Peru!Absolutely excellent experience. Guides were professional and safety was optimum. Food was amazing! Both the ferrata climb and zip line were the perfect high octane experience!Written October 5, 2024
- Soniaarl0 contributionsGreat place to visit, horrible tour company partner.I would have given 5 stars if it was base on reviewing the tour guide Frank he represented the company professionally , very informative, knowledgeable and went above and beyond to make our day better ,however VIP pack Tours DID NOT, I called weeks ahead to make sure I had circuit 2 they agreed, I even confirmed a few days before his text, the day of the tour just before getting on the train agent Rocio gave us, tickets to the bus, train and Machu Picchu circuit 1, very dissatisfied, i explained and showed her all the messages I had directly with them but she could care, and neither did the tour company, I expected a least courtesy after paying $368 per person, I made other arrangements with someone else and paid again to get circuit 2 ( more than 1/2 less than this tour) and was able to get circuit 2 and 3 and a private tour for 4 people only. I expected a lot more from partners of TripAdvisors, I had use them all over the world but this tour company was terrible.Written September 20, 2024
- Vimai0 contributionsAverage, rushed experience in Machu Picchu, tourist trap at the end of the tour!!!A pretty average experience. A guide picked us up from our hotel and took us to Poroy train station close to Cusco. From there, we embarked the train on our own and was greeted by a guide at Machu Picchu station, who helped us onto the public buses. We were then greeted by another guide at the Machu Picchu entrance. We spent 2.5 hours in Machu Picchu which felt incredibly rushed. Whilst our guide helped us take some awesome videos and pictures at the main vantage points, we were not permitted time to take many of our own photos as we had to progress through the circuit. We completed circuit 2, with the exception of the end where the guide took us vis circuit 3 to see the Condor Temple (which was pretty great). We got tourist trapped at the end when we returned to the town Aguas Calientes- instead of guiding us back to the train station, the guide split us all into small groups and took us to restaurants that they clearly gain commission from sending their tour groups. We were instructed that the guide would collect us after lunch and walk us back to the station. The restaurant chosen for us was expensive and the food was inedible! Would recommend that you find your own food in Aguas Calientes and make your own way back to the station.Written September 15, 2024

- 719kristoffera0 contributionsMediocre experience in an amazing locationI’ll focus on the tour and guide itself. We were greeted as we got off the train which was very nice. We were told we would be contacted the day before to coordinate which did not happen and it was a bit of a surprise to us that we actually had to be ready in Aguas Calientes. 1,5 hours before the set time on TripAdvisor. Luckily we had put a decent buffer in and made it on time. The guide knew a lot and had a ton of information, but it seemed like he had his focus on his prepared and practiced speech. He was great at taking photographs. He did not put a lot of effort into involving us and seemed to be rather busy finalizing the tour. In addition, we were recommended a restaurant after the tour where he was clearly paid or in some way sponsored to bring guests. Go your own way and explore the town! There’s plenty of great restaurants.Written August 19, 2024
- robertsT7241VS0 contributionsTrip cancelled on short noticeHad a bad experience with this group. Booked a Machu Picchu trip, and a few days before my trip they sent an email that they couldn't get me into the main concourse I booked, and they wanted me to confirm another concourse was okay. I was traveling and missed the email in my promotions folder...so they cancelled the reservation outright. Left me with no ability to book Machu Picchu anywhere else because everywhere else was booked.Written August 14, 2024
- Chamarripi0 contributionsEverything was covered by the travel agency (except lunch) from my hotel door and back againSiWonderful experience! The guide, German Perez, was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions. Everything was covered by the travel agency (except lunch) from my hotel door and back again. Van ride to train station, panoramic train and bus ride up to the sanctuary. The train experience, by itself, is part of the magic.Written August 13, 2024
- mamajomd0 contributionsAmazing Inka siteWhat an amazing archeological site . About 10 min taxi from city center. Definitely recommend getting a guide to tour site. Guides are available on site. Very interesting history. Highly recommendedWritten August 11, 2024
- A5940EDmelissah0 contributionsA solid transfer from Cusco AirportIt was a relief seeing the transfer waiting for us as we exited the airport. Deysi was easy to recognize with signage bearing my name... I know everyone's experience is personal, so I'm thankful for such a seamless experience.Written August 6, 2024
- DayTrip220116928510 contributionsHorrible experienceGuide surprise is that we going back by bus , despite we paid for round trip . The your was horrible with a guide who poorly spoken English smells with bad breath , we never reached the best area to take a unique photo , I don’t see it is the guide fault but it is the travel company who appointed him poor English hygiene poor photograph taking disappear for breaks where I have to go and find him no explanation from the begining from the yourguide why we’re switched to bus not train then we had to wait in a windy station cold in open air for her to find rest of people, unfortunately I have to do that your all over again with a company who respects their customerWritten August 2, 2024
- majad5150 contributionsPerfect tour of Machu Picchu for those short on timeThis is an excellent tour. Everything is well organized - from hotel pick to up to drop off - and the travel agency is super easy to communicate with if there are any questions or doubts. My group had only three travellers so it almost felt like we were being given a private tour. Our guide, Paul, was excellent. Knowledgeable, kind, friendly, and he took absolutely amazing photos of us! Door to door, the trip last 16 hours in total, so prepare yourself for a super long day. On the train, I did not sit with the rest of my group which was fine because as soon as you arrive at the station, there will be someone from the agency greeting you. All in all, highly recommend.Written July 24, 2024
- andrea v0 contributionsAmazing experienceThe train is simply amazing! Luxurious and the food is soooo good! The staff is welcoming and very friendly. Special shouts to our waiter Diego. He was always coming to check on us and kept us always satisfied. You can tell he really enjoys his job. The train offered menu alternatives for kids as well as yummy juices for the little ones. Definitely an experience you have to live to believe it! Thank you Belmond Train Team!!!!Written July 17, 2024
- Andrew H0 contributionsExcellent experienceExcellent service. Good English speaking guides. All ran on time and was well organised. Small group made it more personalised.Written July 13, 2024
- waynejscott0 contributionsLike a factory with some parts missingA bit disappointing. I discovered just after pickup that my return trip would be to the first train stop on the route back from Cusco. Translated, this meant that I would be bussed (small, minimal leg room, no facilities or stops --- 2 hours plus!) to the bus terminal in Cusco. This made the full day about 17 hours worth of fun. The train down was from the station (Poroy) 20 minutes outside of Cusco . . why the giant bus ride back???? I was never told in spite of 2 times being told they would check. So that wasn't ideal. The tour of Machu Picchu was impressive. But our group was mixed with about 4 English and 4 Spanish speakers so the guide translated for both causing a lot of delay. Overall it was decent but know you will not be getting premium service for $349.Written July 13, 2024
- Y5274LNtonys0 contributionsAn experience you never forget! One of the best experience of our lives! This was my second time riding the Hiram Bingham, my first time was in 2016 and now again this month with my entire family. While it is pricey it’s an experience you’ll never forget.Written July 11, 2024
