          Excellent tour operator
We did the Salkantay 4-day tour. Mateo was very helpful and made sure everything went smoothly. He was always on hand to assist if needed. Even though the trek itself was fairly challenging, the tour was very enjoyable with lasting memories.

Incredibly service-minded at the best price!
No one works harder or is more service-minded and honest than Mateo. He found and arranged reservations even when the tours I wanted looked sold out. Other "premium" tour companies charge 2 to 3 times as much for a package but won't tell you the real prices. Mateo worked so hard, coordinating with multiple other tour companies to find the best options for my schedule, I only hope he can find some help in scheduling! Wonderful service.

Amazing and safe experience Thanks to SAMEX
This is, by far, one of the best tour companies I've had the opportunity to vacation with. I traveled with my elderly parents and my family during the month of April. SAMEX customized our trip to ensure we all were able to enjoy the Inka tradition and the beauty of Cusco, Peru while being safe and well. Since the moment they picked us up at the airport until they dropped us off, they ensured that we had a pleasant experience; we count with the expertise of our guide, Vladimir, who is a licensed historian and explained in detail every place we visited; Our driver Carlos was extremely skillful and patient and kept us safe at all times; Mateo, the agency director traveled with us and ensured that we received nothing but exceptional services at the Hotels and places we stayed in. I can't recommend enough SAMEX as the tour company to visit Peru.

          Samex is exceptional
Exceptional services from pick to drop off at the airport. We went to the Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, Aguascalientes Calientes, Ollantaytambo, Rainbow Mountain, Cusco tour. Everything was on time, all included in the price, we didn’t have to worry with anything. The tour guides were friendly and polite and Sr Mateo was far and beyond to accommodate our needs and wants. Thank you

          Organizative failure
We booked Samex tours because of the 5-star reviews, but it didn't work out. We booked with them 2 tours. For the first one, we were given a pickup time window but on the morning of departure, the guide called asking us to go to a meeting point (not far) earlier than the given time, which left us little time to get ready. Let's say this was just a small communication mistake. The 2nd tour was a disaster. Nobody contacted us as promised, we waited after the deadline of meeting time... Finally the guide came to get us and led us to a van that was already full! It seems that some people registered of 2 but arriving in 4! After 20 minutes squeezed in, we were moved to another van of a bigger group. The guide said that they had 3 vans on that day to do exactly the same tour, just different vans. Later we found out that it was a lie: the 2nd van was of another agency Tinkuy organizing a tour package for a group of local tourists (so we were 2 intruders) and they had nothing to do with the 1st van. Actually we had never met the 1st van anymore and we came back almost 3 hours earlier than the itinerary... Maybe we just had bad luck but such an incident at 4:30 am ruined the day and mistakes on 2 days in a row were too much, considering the fact that we booked the tours over 4 months in advance to secure good services... The worst experience ever

Best Tour Guide to Machu Picchu
Mateo and his team are extremely knowledgeable and fun! They are passionate about the history of Peru and Machu Picchu, that gives you an inside view of this marvelous place! I searched through many companies and I advise you to talk to them before you book anything in Peru.

          Thank you Mateo!
Mateo was a great tour guide! He tailored our 4 day tour to exactly what we wanted to do and see and had suggestions for an extra day we didn't know how to fill. He was very informative and helpful. Borris was an excellent driver. The van was always clean and we felt safe with him behind the wheel. We'll definitely be contacting Mateo of we find ourselves back in Peru again. Thank you!

Third time with Mateo! Highly recommended company!
Our family used Mateo's outstanding services to plan a South American adventure for the third consecutive year. After previously visiting Peru twice to experience Machu Picchu, Rainbow Mountain and a myriad of beautiful hikes along the Inca Trails, this time we were interested in exploring Bolivia. We first became intrigued with Bolivia when walking around Cuzco and noticing spectacular photos of the Uyuni Salt Flats in the tourist agency store fronts. After some research, we learned about many interesting sites in Bolivia that were off the beaten path with few tourists. Mateo and his staff helped us plan a memorable adventure that was tailored to our wishes. We rode mountain bikes down "Death Road" (with a zipline experience along the way; marveled at the beauty of the Uyani Salt Flats (a photographer's dream at sunset); visited the Valley of the Rocks and colorful Laguna region (virtually no tourists); explored a less-travelled corner of Lake Titicaca; and of course, experienced La Paz's unique cable car public transportation system. I'd also like to add that Mateo is extremely trustworthy with the payment portion of the trip. This was another priceless bonding experience for our family of four (including two teenagers who loved it!). We are grateful to you again, Mateo!!

Amazing Inca Trail Hike and Cuzco Tour!
Mateo and his staff hosted my family for several days in Peru and led us on a tour of Cuzco and the surrounding area and also led us on the Inca Trail hike to Machu Picchu. The entire trip was incredible, and Mateo did an outstanding job the whole way. He was friendly, knowledgeable, caring, and supportive. He taught us a great deal about Peru's rich history and culture and was also an incredibly patient and encouraging guide on the Inca Trail for my family of inexperienced hikers. If you are looking for a fantastic visit to Peru I wouldn't recommend anyone other than Mateo and his crew!

We booked the trip for my son's 18th birthday, looking for wild and cultural experiences. It was worth it. Everything was perfect from the beginning : easy contact with the agence and Mateo who answered our questions very quickly and adapted our program according to all our needs and wishes. As from our arrival contact with him was very easy. He drove us in a private car tour all around Cusco during 2 days : sacred Valley, Salinas de Maras, Moray,... It was perfect to get used to the altitude.

Then we left tor the 4d/3n Inca trail with a private guide and a private team of porters and it was just amazing : all very well organized, the guide followed our physical rythm,... It was physically quite hard but less thant expected thanks to the special attention the team provided us : incredible food, hot breakfast, coca tea at any time, tea times after the walk, hot water to wash ourselfs a little bit, 3 courses diner evrynight... Just incredible. During our walks, the guide gave us many explanations about inca's civilization and Peruvian culture.
The top of the trip was when we reached our goal, so proud of us : the arrival at sungate very early in the morning to see the sunrise on Machu Picchu.

We finished our holiday by an excursion by the rainbow mountain. Even if it's a three ours drive frol Cusco, you can't skip this experience!

Thanks to Mateo and Samex Tour Perú, we will keep amazing memories from this wonderful trip.
