A must-do! We did a one day tour from Cusco to the Humantay lake which is great way to explore if you don’t want to do the overnight hiking tour.
It’s kind of hard to hike mainly because of the altitude but worth all the struggle (in case you can rent a horse to help you with the hike)
Our guide Freddy was very knowledgeable, friendly and funny, we had a great time with him, he kept us and all the group entertained.
Also, at the end of the tour he kindly gave us suggestions where to eat authentic Peruvian food in Cusco.
Can’t recommend enough.

It takes almost 4 hrs of van rides and hiking to reach your destination. I rode horse instead of doing the hike. My husband did the hike and said it was very strenuous. The hike is only for athletic people. Make sure you have acclaimed yourself a couple days otherwise the altitude sickness may get you. One of the girls in our group had just arrived the day before and she was very sick. Our group of 9 was just the best and our guide Freddie had the happiest disposition and was very conscious of our needs. The views are spectacular and worth the long journey. Make sure you get there early. We left Cusco at 4:00am and were the first ones there. After an hour it was packed with people and not as peaceful. Also the weather is best early in the day.

The tour was well organized and hotel pickup was on time. Our guide, Freddy Kruger, was friendly and helpful in answering any questions we had.
The hike up to the lake is physically challenging requiring you to climb steep hills at high altitude. However, it's possible to rent a horse which you can ride to the top.
Highly recommend this tour and ask for Freddy!

My boyfriend and I had the pleasure of having Fredy (Kruger) as our tour guide. He was in such great spirit when he picked us up. Even tho it was 4AM he put smiles on all our faces. The little town we stopped in to have breakfast was great, we had fueled up and traveled a bit more to the start of the trek. It was definitely challenging but I recommend you do the trek instead of getting a horse. The lake and view is rewarding after fighting the altitude (don’t forget to pack some cocoa leaves or take some altitude pills prior to trekking). We then went back to town and had a dinner (which was delicious) and was brought back into Cusco. I give this a 10/10 best experience we had and the sight was breathtaking!! Thank you again Fredy for your great energy and making this experience one we will never forget!

Excellent day trip, all very well organised. Picked up from our hotel in Cusco at 4am, breakfast which was very nice part-way through the journey and then the hike. You can pay to go up on a horse, but the hike is not too difficult if you go slow, it is just steep. You are rewarded with an amazing view at the top. We went very early so arrived before a lot of other tourists which was good. Our guide Hilton was very kind and checked we were all ok on the hike. Lunch was good too. Long day but definitely worth it.

We had a great time doing the track to Humantay lake with our guide Freddie! The tour was well planned, we had a nice breakfast and lunch and enough time to walk around the lake and take photos. Freddie also knew best places to take photos. You have options to either take horses almost all the way to the lake or hike by yourself, we are not avid hikers, so decided to take horses, which was really fun!

This hike was definitely a challenge but it is so worth it!!! You can rent a horse if you get tired for around 60-80 soles as well. We had Hilton as our tour guide and he was amazing! Very interested in the culture behind the local people and sharing it with our group. A 10/10 experience for sure!

The guide was amazing and made us feel very safe and confident on our abilities to make it to the top of the mountain. It was more challenging than I thought but we still made us as a team. Javier Pro was an amazing tour guide. I would truly recommend him.

I don't have words to describe this hike to Laguna Humantay!!! The laguna is so blue and beautiful! And the place has a wondeful energy!! I definitely recommend it to everybody!!!
I would like to thank Fred, our tour guide who helped me when I felt the altitude sickness while treeking and has such good vibe and energy.
The hike was fine, a bit hard some times for those who not exercise regurlay like me, but it's doable (you just need to go in your own time and taking breaks).
Most of the people rented the horse to go up, but it is just sad how the locals threat the them, so I would not support this type of tourism.
The breakfast and lunch were delicious!! They had vegetarian options as well. And the restaurant owner and staff were super friendly.
The van and the schedule of the agency in general was great! I do not anything to complain about. But be sure to read everything they send, because the pick up is at your hotel and the drop off is close to Plaza de Las Armas.
I would like to thank Fred, our tour guide who helped me when I felt the altitude sickness while treeking and has such good vibe and energy.

Our guide, Cesar, was excellent. He gave interesting informations about the site, looked for us during the trek and took great care of us from the beginning to the end of the tour.
Humantay Lake is a breathtaking place! Simply amazing! The trek was very fun to do and the site is defitively worthing the visit. I warmly recommend this tour.
