I worked with Ramiro, Travel Agent at Machu Picchu Explorer to create a 6 Day Tour of Cusco and its surrounding cultural experiences; The Sacred Valley (Pisac & Ollantaytambo) as well as a couple of nights at in Aguas Calientes to experience the magical MachuPicchu. I had been to these places in 2016, however, wanted a more personal experience. I cannot express how grateful I am to Ramiro, Miguel, his drivers, the exceptional hotels he chose for us. We were picked up at the airport in Cusco, driven to our hotel and briefed on what we would experience over the next 6 days. We had a daily itinerary and knew exactly what was to be expected. Ramiro was extremely good to work with to make this day trip an amazing experience. He met with us at our hotel in Cusco the night before with all our tickets in order and answered any questions. Oscar picked us up at 6am the next morning to get us to the train/bus station where we boarded a bus to Ollantytambo station to catch the train to Machu Picchu village where our guide, Hiram met us. They only take on small groups and we ended up being the only two in the group. Hiram took the time to explain what we were seeing, the history and let us soak in the beauty of MP. The pace was very good and ensured that we had a bit of time back in the village before heading back to the train station for the journey back to Cusco.

My friends and I had a private tour (6 days, 5 nights) including Machu Picchu, Ollantaytambo, Pisac and the Rainbow Mountain. The pickups were always on time. All employees of the company were friendly and helpful. The guide, Miguel, was patient and accommodating. We had the best time possible and learned an incredible amount in the short time from him and Oscar, the driver. We felt as comfortable as if we had family in Cusco. As for tips: do not forget your hat, sunglasses and sunblock for the Rainbow Mountain. The cold is emphasized by all, but the sun can get you too!

I’m SO glad to have booked our Machu Picchu day tour with this company. From the start Ramiro made everything so easy and simple. They even offered a ride from the airport at the beginning of our trip. They organized all our train and bus tickets, had guides set to help us at each stage of the way, and were very helpful. Our trip to Peru would not have been so memorable, or managable without Ramiro and his team. Miguel is an excellent tour guide, Extremly knowledgeable of Incan and Peruvian history and culture, and also takes awesome pictures too!!! Oscar is the best driver hands down we have met, and very kind with letting us leave some our items in the car while we toured. Both Miguel and Oscar are so sweet and kind. We had altitude sickness on the first day but they took good care of us. The entire team went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and took care of every little detail for us , From the flight into Cusco, till the flight out of Cusco we felt we were in good hands. We wanted to customize our itinerary to 7 days instead of 4 and Ramiro did great a job planning our trip. They planned a surprise picnic on our last day overlooking a beautiful mountain range which was one of the the best highlights of the trip. I'm glad to have booked my Machu Picchu tour with Machu Picchu Explorer. From the very start, Ramiro has provided excellent service - very prompt with responses over email and Whatsapp and very clear about the itinerary. Ramiro met up with us at our hotel for a quick orientation. He provided us with all the tickets in order and since we had arrived late in Cusco, he adjusted our pick up time to a later time so we had more time to rest up that night. Unfortunately though, our driver to Poroy station arrived too early the following day. I'm not sure if there was some misunderstanding in the change of times but we didn't really care so much since we were already ready to leave. Once we got to Machu Picchu town, our tour guide Hiram met up with us and was very accommodating throughout the tour. One can see that he's really passionate and knowledgeable about Machu Picchu. He's also an excellent photographer and would be more than happy to take your pictures. Hiram also provided us with an excellent restaurant recommendations after the tour.

I just want to start off by saying thank you to Miguel and Waldo! They made our trip amazing. I felt so safe with Waldo’s driving and Miguel’s hiking abilities. Miguel every hike was there to motivate us. I’m one who is afraid of heights so having him cheer me on and help me overcome that was incredible. They were the sweetest gentlemen I have ever met and I hope everyone can experience their journey with them. Everyone in the group didn’t want to leave because they made us feel like family. Thank you Miguel and Waldo for your patience, kindness and compassion. Every little detail was spectacular.

We all had amazing time. Miguel what is an amazing true God that stuck with us through every winding turn. Waldo is an experienced and talented driver that got us to every destination smoothly and safely. Our group trip wouldn’t have been the same with out these guys! I could not have asked for a better day. Anytime I had a question about the trip the organizer was prepared with an answer. There was a pre meeting in which everything was laid out. During each step the staff was attentive and always prepared. The guide which I had was knowledgeable and personable. This tour exceeded all expectations.

This is one of the most well organized tours I've ever been on, and I've traveled to 25 countries. Ramiro came to our hotel the day before our tour and gave us tickets and answered any questions we might have. The day was absolutely seamless and exactly as he said it would be. Our guide at Machu Picchu, Hiram, was a wealth of information. Wow-he was amazing. An absolute fount of information. He met us getting off the train and then after our tour told us where to get on the train again, after pointing us in the direction of a delicious lunch before our journey. It is a long day, starting early and ending late, but if you only have a limited amount of time, this is a great one day tour!! Do not hesitate--use this company!! Absolutely would book with them again. Lovely!!

This was the best tour experience I’ve ever had, and I’ve been to over 30 countries and done countless tours. Machu Picchu Explorer was extremely professional. They came to our hotel the day before the tour to explain all of the details and provided us with all of our tickets perfectly organized in the order that we needed them. Transportation from and back to our hotel was provided. Our tour guide, Hiram, a native Quechuan anthropologist, was an absolute wealth of knowledge and experience. He also had a great personality and fantastic sense of humor! I would highly recommend to all!

Ramiro provided excellent communication prior to the trip. He arranged all transportation and tickets, which he delivered to my hotel and reviewed with me the night before. Every detail was taken care of, it was lovely to just enjoy the tour. My guide at MaPi was Hiram. His passion for the site, history and culture of the area is apparent. Machu Picchu is incredible and he enhanced the experience. Execution of tour was flawless. Definitely recommend!!

We did Machu Picchu day trip and rainbow mountain through Ramiro. Both were hassle free as he took care of everything including airport and hotel transportation, and all our tickets to get into Machu Picchu and rainbow mountain. The guides were very nice, knowledgeable and took us at our own pace. We will highly recommend Ramiro and his team for any activities that they are offering in Cusco. They offered a fun and stress-free experience!!

He met us the night before our journey, answered all of our questions, and coordinated the entire trip’s details so we didn’t have to worry about anything.
