About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Tara P0 contributionsAmazing tour to MachupicchuFrom start to finish our tour was amazing. We were picked up, on time, from our hotel and transported to the bus terminal. From there we waited all of 5 minutes and then loaded onto the bus and headed to the train station, about 1.5 hours. Once at the train terminal we were able to have a snack, coffee, and bathroom break. Our tour director was there and we were able to follow our group easily. We even received a little "show" on our way down the road to the train. The train ride was beautiful. One we arrived our new tour guide was there waiting on us and we were directed to join another group up to Machupicchu, which was fine. Our guide, Carlos, was wonderful about telling the history of Machupicchu and all the buildings, he seemed to be showing us more than the other tours, he really knew how to hold our attention and was a great story teller. I learned so much! After we had time to have a wonderful lunch and time to walk around the markets before heading back to Cusco. I recommend this tour to anyone, we really had a wonderful day.Written September 29, 2022
- ExcursionMEL1226190 contributionsBest Experience in PeruBefore I arrived in Peru I was already communicating with Coco, and he helped feel at ease and confident with booking trips and transportation with him. From the very start he was friendly and helpful. Coco helped me and my husband have an amazing trip in Peru. I highly recommend his services ☺️ He goes above and beyond for visitors.Written September 2, 2022
- 33064SFC0 contributionsGreat Food ExperienceWe took a food tour in Cusco. Our guides were absolutely great. In fact they were so good, we booked it twice in a week. The second time we asked for different restaurant selections and we were treated to great, local cuisine both nights. Take my advice and try their recommendations. Even if the food isn’t quite your style, you’ll be happy you gave them a try.Written March 29, 2022
- Happiness635802118610 contributionsAmazing day tour!We had an amazing time going with coko to machu picchu! He is super friendly, patient and organised. He organised the whole trip, bought all the tickets and picking us up at the hotel early morning to bring us 9n the adventure to the mountain. I felt that I could just relax and enjoy the tour because he had everything under control. He knows alot about machu picchu and I learned alot during the day. I would recommend going with him there and would love to return myself!Written December 10, 2021
- Rosplo4550 contributionsHighlight of our Peru TripMy fiance and I booked this trip last minute and we were blown away by the incredible experience we received. Our guide, Coco, was phenomenal. We walked away with not only tons of knowledge about the amazing city of Cusco, but also a new friend! Coco has such a warm and friendly demeanor. He is also incredibly motivated - he truly cared about our experience and wanted to tailor the trip around our interests and questions. Some of best parts of the tour included: - Learning about Inca architecture - it was so interesting to learn about how the Inca people were able to seamlessly assemble giant stones into fortresses. - Coco's in-depth explanation to all of our questions (literally any question we had he had an answer to. He is a walking history book. He has so much passion for what he does!) - Getting to experience the city on our schedule. Because it was just my fiance and I (very small group), Coco took us to many places not even listed on the itinerary. We told him we had already visited the market and he suggested we try some authentic Peruvian food instead. Getting to try traditional Peruvian Picarones (similar to a donut but wayyy better) was incredible. - Getting to take amazing pictures! Coco lead us to extremely scenic spots. He also took so many photos of my fiance and I together. We never even had to ask him. All in all, the tour exceeded our expectations. This tour was the highlight of our time in Peru and we are so happy we stumbled upon Vamos Peru Travel. Thank you Coco and Ruty! -Rachel & GustavWritten October 16, 2021
- 661hankm0 contributionsIncredible Tour Guide!I actually used Coco for three tours. Sacred Valley, Machu Pichu and Rainbow Mountain. Coco is an outstanding tour guide. He is very knowledgeable about history and nature. He is also extremely calm and kind. He is a safe driver and also takes safely precautions such as bringing oxygen to Rainbow Mountain. Coco goes out of his way to bring you a personalized, magical experience. He made my week in Cusco extremely memorable. Coco also takes great photos of you in amazing spots - he knows all the best angles and tricks! I one million percent recommend him for any tours you wish to take. You will have and amazing time and also make a good friend. Thank you Coco!Written October 10, 2021
- LilyZ530 contributionsCoco is the best!Coco is the best! He picked us up in a clean, modern van and was super friendly in explaining, funny too :) All the transport was organized, which is complicated for Machu Picchu (train, then bus, then entrance tickets..) and we appreciated. Great communication beforehand. Once at Machu Picchu too and seeing the other guides, I was convinced we had picked the best one. He even got us a 2nd guide for our big group. The price is incredibly reasonable too and much better than what you find with other companies.Written July 29, 2021
- r1ckyraygun0 contributionsDefinitely coming back to do more tours!Coco is amazing. He is so knowledgeable and passionate about the history and takes care of all of the logistics. We didn’t have to stress about anything. We felt so safe, entertained and definitely smarter.Written July 27, 2021

- jaudet20000 contributionsAbsolutely Amazing ExperiencePost Covid review...I can’t say enough good things about this experience and tour company. They were great with communicating, pick up was right on time, and the tour was everything that they said it would be. They give you a briefing the night before so you can prepare and know exactly what to expect. The hike up the Inca trail was a great experience and a nice challenge. Once you get to the top the views of Machu Piccu are amazing! They also include a boxed lunch which was surprisingly delicious. Coco was my tour guide and he was super knowledgeable about Machu Piccu and Peru in general. I would highly recommend using this tour company for all the tours they offer.Written November 13, 2020
- K4024AErickym0 contributionsSublime Shaman ExperienceCoco arranged a wonderful ceremony with a shaman from the Kichwa peoples. He provided excellent context on the history and culture of the Kichwa and expert translation of the ceremonies and rituals. And Santiago (shaman) was a delightful soul. I highly recommend this experience for those curious about the traditions of the Kichwa.Written March 5, 2020
- E7759YNdavidg0 contributions2 day Machu PicchuRuty and Coco put together a great package. ALL transportation, trains buses, etc... included. Our overnight accommodations, entry tickets to the city... you name it, they nailed it. Offering a wealth of knowledge, history and culture of the ancient city, the Inca and the Qeuchua people in the surrounding areas, with a very personalized experience. Worth every penny!! We want to go back and take some of their other tours. We highly recommend that anyone looking to explore while in Cusco... take advantage of Vamos Travel Peru, they will take great care of you! Thanks again to our new friends Coco and Ruty for your hospitality.Written February 9, 2020
- Amerikaner890 contributionsPrivate and personalized day trip to the Sacred ValleyWe had the wonderful opportunity to connect with Ruty a few weeks before our trip to Cusco. She was very thorough on many trip itineraries, but we ultimately chose a private tour of the sacred valley. There were 4 of us in the group and we were picked up promptly at the scheduled time. The price was great! Alex, our guide, spoke English, Spanish and Quechua. This really helped with our multilingual group. Our guide gave us personal insights and recommendations along the way. He was vibrant and super energetic! It was great to have someone take group photos for us! The driver was wonderful and very safe! He got us to and from each site quickly and seamlessly. We got to see 4 archeological sites and a few crafting towns. The 10-hour tour was exactly what we were looking for! Thank you, VAMOS PERU TRAVEL for your assistance! We look forward to using you again in the future!Written January 31, 2020
- A507ORsarahe0 contributionsAmazing TripThis was by far the best part of our trip! My husband and I were in Peru for 10 days and in order to see all that we wanted to see, could not commit more than 2 days to Machu Picchu and the Inca Trail. We knew that we wanted our first glimpse of Machu Picchu through the Sun Gate so that we could truly experience its grandeur. We also wanted to hike at least a little bit of the Royal Incan Trail. The experience was far better than we could ever imagine!!! The hike was challenging, rewarding and allowed us to see so many breathtaking sights including Winay Wayna, the Sun Gate and also gave us our first visit through Machu Picchu. Juty was our guide as we hiked the trail and she is absolutely amazing! She reached out early to make sure that we had all the details for our trip. We wanted to modify our starting point from Cusco to Ollantaytambo and she was flexible and accommodating, working with our hotel to make sure that we received our train ticket, transfer to the train station, lunches and knew the exact details of what we needed to communicate to the train attendants in order to get off at our stop at KM 104. She also arranged for our luggage to be stored and returned to us in Cusco so that we would only need to carry the necessary items on our trek. Her attention detail and happiness to go above and beyond made our trip absolutely perfect. This attention to detail continued in Aguas Caliente with a wonderful hotel accommodation and delicious prearranged dinner included in the package. Again she provided clear communication for our meeting point the next morning as we continued our guided tour of Machu Picchu with her fiancé, Coco. We loved having a second day to visit Machu Picchu to fully appreciate the details of the kingdoms’ history. Both Coco and Juty were incredibly knowledgeable about the Incan history and provided genuine, in-depth insight into how this history has impacted Peruvian culture. Again, in what we consider to be our best vacation yet, these 2 days were by far the best part of our adventure! After finishing our tour of Machu Picchu, Coco made sure that we had everything that we needed to complete our train and bus rides back to Cusco, and arranged a meeting point in Cusco where he personally delivered all of our additional luggage back to us from Ollantaytambo. Juty and Coco’s customer service are unrivaled! We highly recommend VAMOS Peru to help you enjoy this amazing adventure!!!Written December 8, 2019
- Witley560 contributionsImportance of fully qualified guidesI’ve just come back from two weeks in Peru. We’d pre-booked the 2 day/1 night Inca Trail and our guide on that trip was Coco (Diomedes) - he was fun, organised, informative and generally great to be with so we decided to book another unscheduled trip with him to the Rainbow Mountains. The rest of my group were hesitant at first as we were trekking up to 5,100 metres which was the highest altitude we’d be on our trip but he patiently explained all the elements involved, told us that having been with us for two days we’d definitely manage it and said we could hire horses part of the way if we wished ... I think we’d all agree it was the highlight of our two week trip and that’s thanks to Coco!! PS we did hire horses to go up and that was great fun but we trekked the last bit and walked back downWritten October 28, 2019

The amazing experience was only enhanced by a great guide. My favorite moments were the stunning views of nature as we hiked - breathtaking, a window into the past.
Throughout the experience, the passion of the guide (Coco) was infectious and self evident.
I would recommend this trip to everyone!!

I could not have wished for a better company and tour guide to do this epic trip with! ( I actually did the 4 day Inka Trail but that wasn’t an option in this link) and had the BEST time ever! Coco is extremely knowledgeable, I learned a lot about the Inkas, the Peruvian culture, history, while we even took me off the normal inka trail and showed me inka ruins normally isn’t on the path. I felt safe and in good hands the whole time and by the end I gained a Peruvian friend! Gracias Mi Amigo!

I have done a ton of excursions throughout my travels and have met multiple guides, but this experience and guide is OUTSTANDING. From the get go, we appreciated the meeting/briefing with our guide and co-owner of the Company ,Coco! He reassured us with regards to the trip and clarified any questions/concerns we had. Next, he went the extra mile in offering us, free of charge, hiking backpacks bigger then our day packs and a pair of walking sticks each to facilitate our journey. Everything was beautifully scheduled and taken care of including transportation from our hotel in Cusco to, the train from Ollentaytambo, to the trek of Machu Picchu, to the food we ate (great portions and complete lunchbox meal) plus dinner in Aguas Calientes and a stay at a hotel. People had told us to consider booking everything separately and do it on your own, but I highly discourage that approach seeing as Coco ensures your transportation, tickets, mountain entrance and permits, food and his services as a private guide along the way! If done on your own, it is not only a hassle but also likely a disaster should you mess up, and essentially it is the same price!
As for the trek, definitely a beautiful experience and view of Machu Picchu, it is so rich and culturally and historically beautiful. Coco does a great job at highlighting all the details of the history, architecture and culture behind the Inca trail and sites and Machu Picchu! He also serves as a source for other needs! We needed help changing flights and he helped us with that and even with transportation to the airport. Beyond 5 star ! Would definitely return to more excursions in Peru with Coco!! Graciassss por todo!

We met our guide Coco in our Cuzco hotel the night before we headed to Machu Picchu.Had a great time with Coco, able to walk at our own pace(brisk) and Coco give us as much information as we wanted as he is so passionate about the area. We travelled to 5 South American countries in 4 weeks with Machu Picchu bring our highlight. Nice dinner and comfy hotel was included in our 2 day tour and probably could of spent another night in the Machu Picchu township as well as Cuzco. After the train and bus back to Cuzco we were met by Coco’s wife Ruty to gook us back to our hotel. Recommend this tour to everyone, thanks guys for a couple of awesome days👌

I highly recommend the vamos team if you are considering a tour in this region. Coco was amazing! Came to our hotel the night before and gave us a run down of the two days (even lent us a backpack)
Coco is Highly knowledgeable and really tailors to what you want to get out of the 2 days. My husband and I did the the tour alone, as we are not into big groups and like to go at our own pace - this was the perfect tour for us and the best way for us see some of the Inca trail and Machu Picchu - the highlight of our holiday 😊👏👍

My trip to Machu Picchu was truly unforgettable because of Ruty. She is kind, friendly, fun, and extremely knowledgable of the areas we traveled and Peruvian history/culture. I am so thankful for her being my tour guide because she also taught me different aspects of the culture that I had been craving to learn more of.
