It was nothing short of extraordinary, and I can't thank everyone enough for their dedication to making it a memorable journey. From the seamless logistics to the knowledgeable and friendly guides, every aspect of the trip was well-planned and executed. The attention to detail and the commitment to providing an exceptional experience truly stood out. The breathtaking landscapes, the rich cultural insights, and the overall ambiance created an unforgettable adventure. I appreciate the effort that went into ensuring every traveler felt comfortable, engaged, and inspired throughout the entire expedition. It's evident that the team's passion for delivering outstanding travel experiences shines through in every aspect of the Machu Picchu journey. Thank you for going above and beyond to make this trip a positive and enriching adventure. I look forward to future travel opportunities with Inca Rail.
- Eva Z00Perfect ride! The whole experience was magical. From the beginning to the end everything was perfectly arranged. Great staff which made it perfect
- Michal S00Better price and scheduleWe chose Inca rail over Peru rail because of two reasons. The first was a more favourable price. During a cyber week sale, we managed to get a discount on the return trip and stayed in a premium coach. The second reason, a more preferable schedule, as we needed to depart Aguas Calientes around 7 PM. The ordinary coach is fine, the premium one is very nice. Also we appreciated the possibility of having a return trip Ollantantaymbo - M.P. - Cuzco, as we wanted to explore Ollanta on our own before continuing to M.P. A negative factor to this bi-modal transport service - a complete chaos between disembarking the train and embarking the bus in Ollanta. According to schedule, there was supposed to be a 30 mins break. The staff tells us, no break, you go now. We immediately boarded the bus (not even going to the toilet), just to wait and sit many minutes before the bus really left.
- Dddaaannn99900Service Not as AdvertisedBooked an upgraded 360 trip from Cusco to Machu Picchu and was provided standard train. Train was suppose to have a glass ceiling and an Authentic inka show. Train didn not have a glass ceiling and rather had a huge view of a luggage rack. Show onboard was so poorly done that all the passengers were laughing at the poor production. Don’t book if you’re looking for an elevated experience.
- micsuv00Nothing specialFor the price, I really expect more! Comparing to prices of buses, I do not see big sense to take this train.
- wanderlust49600Machu PicchuIt's worth it, make sure youn carry a lot of cash. Get used to Cusco altitude first. Buy your tickets in advance ( Bus+ Train for the Incarail or peruvien rail ) Machu Picchu ite only available on the gov website.
- sykc1317900Inca Rail experienceOverall is good. Prices vary quite a lot between different time tho. Abit more chaotic during the return when the Perurail has a very closed departure time to the one I took. But on the way to Machu Picchu was very smooth.
- soutdtz00Great experienceFrom beginning to end quality service to a wonder of the world this company service level is great if you can you’ve to take the trip
- alnmunoz00Great all inclusive experienceWe had a great time on all legs of our journey. Our trip to Peru was sort of last minute, and having the bi-modal all inclusive option was awesome. It took all the stress out of planning transportation to Machu Picchu, and the experience was well worth it. We loved the cultural performance and music on the way to Aguas Calientes, and it made us more excited to arrive! All around, I would highly recommend booking a trip through Inca Rail!
- 563vinayaks00IncaRail Bimodal serviceHappy with the journey- well timed, clean, and organised. A bit expensive to be fair but we didn't explore other options much.
- AlexAroundThePlanet00PERFECT organization 10/10Everything was perfect. From a to Z. Lounge. Staff. Train. Mini van to Cusco. Everything was perfect. Good price. Perfect organization. Deeply advice. Thanks again.
- theonkynedy00Nothing more you can ask forWaiting rooms were way better than I was expecting. Staff were on top of everything. Train/bus was on time and the train specifically had decent seating.
- ccanalesmantovani00Excellent!!!From the beginning it was a great experience. Clean, beautiful, kind staff and location and safe trip
- Cruiser3477886606900Great experienceHighly recommend!!! Great service. I used bimodal. Both train and bus were great. Waiting room was clean and comfortable.
- 76850216000very good service and good priceEverything is good, will recommend to friends. I heard passengers cannot take suit case on the train, but i saw some tooke suit casees on the train. hope you have a clear indication what kind of luggage is allowed on the train

Had to cancel our trip, informed INCARAIL in early March and they promised to refund us, but they never did, be very careful in booking with this company they give you the run around and dodge refunding you when their cancellation policy clearly states that up to 24 hours before your trip you can refund for 90% of what you paid. They are dodgy at best and I'd consider booking elsewhere. Terrible experience, their staff consistently ignored our emails and tried to offer us other packages instead. Their phones are never answered and they are clearly not a customer oriented business. Go with another company.

There was a plane crash in Lima. My party was stranded and unable to make a paid ticket reservation because of this. I tried to reschedule with them in a face to face meeting at their offices. The only option they offered me was a train ticket only. No guide, as was paid for nor the bus transfers (because of a bus strike in Cusco) I would have to find my own way to the train station at an additional expense of $30 each way. No refund was forthcoming. Needless to say I am furious. Buyer beware!

We used Inca Rail to visit Machu Picchu on 19th January for a day trip. While we were there the protests escalated meaning we became stranded, this obviously wasn’t the fault of Inca Rail but their communication to stranded tourists was beyond terrible.
Once the trains became cancelled the gates to the station were locked and the staff just hid away inside. The advice we were given by live chat was to speak to staff at the station but they weren’t there to speak to. When we could speak to someone the only advice was to wait at the station as they were hoping to arrange an evacuation train. At 7pm a member of staff stuck a notice outside the station saying services were suspended and there wouldn’t be one that night - then started a scramble to find a hotel room with the only advice being come back at 8am to see if there was a train.
Later that night we found pictures on social media which showed the tracks had been badly damaged by protestors - it was clear from the pictures that there was no chance of them being repaired quickly so I don’t understand why Inca Rail didn’t just say that, it made it so hard to decide what to do!
When going back to the station again the next morning as advised there was no further advice other than just to wait..
We decided to walk back out along the tracks for many hours in the end as we had no faith in Inca Rail to be honest with us - I’m glad we did as it was days before transport was arranged for people to get out.
When booking with them tourists should really bare in mind if there are further problems they will not help you at all and just leave you stranded with no advice, help out guidance at all.

Dear Cj646M388EC,
We regret to know that your trip to the citadel of Machu Picchu was affected by the demonstrations and the situation that Peru is going through at the moment.
We understand your discomfort and disappointment for the service received on January 19th, however, we would like to mention that we are on emergency state that is the reason we did not have accurate information at the moment due to we depends on peruvian authorities information.
Unfortunately, these NON-peaceful demonstrations and this social problem that escapes of our services, caused your trip to be affected in this way. We would like to mention how much we strive to try to assist all our passengers who are our top priority as much as possible, as well as our workers, we would like to offer you our most sincere apologies in case you felt that our staff did not accompany you and assist you in the middle of the contingency.
We hope this unfortunately situation improve in order to be able to return to our regular operation and not have these unfortunately events.

We booked train to visit Machu Picchu for beginning of February but had to cancel a week before due to the site being closed by the Peruvian Government due to all the street protests.
After various emails, where Inca Rail were offering vouchers instead of refund, they finally agreed on January 26 to make a refund within 60 days. As the 60 days is approaching I sent an email to Inca Rail and got a response on March 18 saying that as they were still within the 60 days timeframe they would send an email once the refund is processed.
So it just looks like to me they are deliberately holding on to customers money with no intention of returning it until the 60 days is almost up. Hardly good customer service is it ?

I have booked a trip with Incarail and they cancelled. I had to do a long trip another way to get to Machu Picchu.
Incarail said I should not be worried, they would pay the refund in 15 days. It has been more than one month and they didn't give my money back. They are not even answering my e-mails.
I give you this advise: do not travel with Incarail.
I will update if I have news about this situation.

Going towards MP the ride was fine. Nice snack and drinks served.
On the way back however the train broke down. It is a one way track and it took over an hour until they repaired/replaced the locomotive. The staff did very little, in fact they were rude, when asked if we could have water or something while we waited. It finally came, but reluctantly. There were no progress reports during the maintenance and passengers were concerned and unhappy.

We took the First Class from central Cusco to Macchu Picchu, and the combined train-bus service back two days later. Both of these were excellent.
The First Class was very comfortable, with some good food served for both breakfast and lunch. The train was really comfortable, the bar carriage with live music and open verandah was a rare and fun experience.
The service levels were really high with all the people involved clearly aiming to provide an excellent level of service. The inclusion of a private bus service up to Macchu Picchu on arrival made that experience a whole lot smoother.
The return leg was just as efficient with a very well-managed transition from train to bus, and the 20-seater minibus was quite comfortable. Again the staff were great.
Top-level service again when we discovered that my son had left our camera on the bus. I never expected to see it again, but after a rapid exchange of emails our camera was found and in storage ready for us to collect it.
I was really impressed by Inca Rail.

We used Inca Rail to do a (very long!) single day trip from Cusco to Machu Picchu. We started with "bi-modal" Voyager service-- bus to Ollantaytambo from a terminal near our hotel. For the return we booked First Class service from Aguas Calientes to San Pedro Station, Cusco. There were two things wrong with the choice for the return. 1) We had plenty of time to have had our dinner in Aguas Claientes, but we saved ourselves for the dinner on the train. Oops! It was a mediocre airplane-style meal. Any restaurant would have been better. 2) We discovered the reason most trains terminate at Poroy station: It takes an hour for the train to make the final few miles to San Pedro Station. The train changed directions several times (I assume the train equivalent of hiking trail switchbacks), each stop/change taking 5-10 minutes. We could have cut a half hour at least from our journey by taking a train to Poroy and then taxi to hotel. We needed to get a taxi from San Pedro in any case. The First Class service had a bar car with entertainment, but we were too tired to partake. That said, if you want to start/end in Cusco center, the bi-modal service on Inca Rail (bus to/from Ollantaytambo) is what you should be looking at. And, buyer beware for the First Class service.

Is the first class train operating in April 2022? I don't see a chance to book it?
I'm trying to book this trip, but I have a question. Is there anyway one could stay in aguas calientes for one night and then come back to cusco the next day on the same train? I'm proposing on our machu pichu visit and want to stay at a nice hotel for one night and then come back
