Itinerary
- 1Our transport will pick you up from your accommodation between 4:20 to 4:40 hrs. Temperature during the first hours of our Humantay lake tour is cold ( 5 to 9°C ) that why you need to bring one extra warm sweater, jacket, hat and gloves. These will keep you comfortable during this driving time to Mollepata. After 2 hours driving we will arrive at Mollepata where we will stop for breakfast and get last things you forgot to buy in Cusco like water and snacks. After breakfast there is an hours drive to Soraypampa. Once we arrive at this high mountain plateau we will be able to see the beautiful mountains Apu Salkantay (6230 meters above sea level) and Humantay (5250 meters above sea level). After a short time to prepare and gather our day packs, we start the 1 hour trek to Humantay Lake (about 3 km.) The way up to Humantay Lake is steep however our group is small and our guide will let you take your time to enjoy and arrive without pressure. After enjoying our first view of Humantay Lake there is a optional small climb above the lake to the right or left where you can enjoy a panoramic view. Next we have the easy part of our trek. We go downhill to Soraypampa for another hour. Then we will take our private transportation back to Mollepata where a local lunch will be waiting for us. Once we finish lunch we will go back to Cusco. We will arrive in Cusco between 17:00 to 18:00 hrs

- mariangelesf2580 contributionsAmazing day in CuscoAmazing tour!! Our guide Tito was super insightful and helpful, he and the driver brought great energy to the tour! I learned so much thanks to them and saw impressive ruins in the most smooth way. Totally recommend and would do it again 100%.Written January 15, 2025
- Voyage306490973200 contributionsExcellent pace with quick background knowledge of the Inca cultureThe guide, Jose, did an excellent job in providing us with brief history, explaining the culture and answering our questions. We felt very comfortable with the pace, without feeling being rush or herd around. Highly recommend this tour.Written January 8, 2025
- aashrithr20180 contributions5 star experienceMy guide Jose Tito was very friendly and explained everything about the tour very well. Would highly recommend. The highlight for me was the tour around the Alpacca farmWritten December 18, 2024
- Carlos C0 contributionsVery entertaining city tourVery interesting to visit the historic center of the city, as well as Sacsayhuaman, Puca Pukara and the llama sanctuary. Cusco truly is a very rich city in terms of its architecture and history.Written December 14, 2024
- W5495HJkyleb0 contributionsGreat Value and Experience! Would definitely recommend if you're looking to learn more about Incan Culture in Cusco. My wife and I did this tour the day after Machu Picchu, and it did not disappoint. We were very happy to learn facts about the Incas' that we did not know before, which made all of the Incan ruins that much more special and impressive. Jose Tito and his driver Richard were very professional, and Jose knew his stuff! We met another family whose son was studying abroad here, so it is very interesting to hear them exchange knowledge. I would definitely recommend before or after Machu Picchu, or even as a standalone if you don't want to make the trek out. We left Cusco the day after this tour, so thank you for ending our trip on a high note... Literally because we went up 1300 feet!Written December 13, 2024
- kevinzL784KL0 contributionsThoughtful and knowledgeable tour guideJose was amazing, great tour guide, very kind and knowledgeable, took his time explaining everything and answered questions, I wish we could have had him for other tours when we visited other local areas earlier in our trip. Highly recommendWritten December 6, 2024
- yingyuchi0 contributionsGreat Cusco tourAs a recommendation from a friend before my hike to Machu Picchu, I did a Cusco city tour with this group, and our guide, Jose, was wonderful. He was a great storyteller, and the group size was small, which made for a more personal experience. Thank you for the enjoyable tour and the introduction to Inca history.Written December 5, 2024
- chwingman0 contributionsDefinitely go for the half day tour, but for sure pick a different Tour companyThe ruins were very interesting and I would have like more historical discussion. I don’t recommend this tour company as the guide had us standing around for long periods of time and then give us only a short period of time to explore the ruins. We suggested to him that we could walk and talk, but he refused to do that and the other guides would actually walk up to the top and around the ruins and then discuss with the groups of people. He also scolded us for being a little bit late. They also were a bit disorganized and when it came time to drop us back off at our hotels, he said mine was out of the way and refused to take me there again. I would recommend this room tour just not with this company.Written November 12, 2024
- Michelle W0 contributionsWorth the money for easy access and knowledgeable guide.Great for! Knowledgeable guide and great stops to view the ruins. Guide gave us the perfect amount of info at each stop and was open to questions we had. Go on the morning tour as it want nearly as busy as the afternoon lines we saw later to get into each site. Do know that you Jane to buy your own entrance tickets and that was 70 sols. Highly recommend the tour.Written November 8, 2024
- yiyapilla0 contributionsAmazing, Historical and Fun Tour!We booked the City and Archeological site tour. You have to request Jose! We were so pleased with the knowledge and service provided by Jose and this company. Somehow we got lucky and had a private tour. We visited four different sites and on each Jose was so well versed in its history. He has an in-depth knowledge and respect for the Incan culture and allowed us to take in and learn more than we expected. Definitely recommend! Best tour we have had yet! He was so patient with us and gave us great tips for acclimating and our future hike to Salkantay. Don’t forget to Ask for Jose!! 10/10!!Written November 7, 2024
- Sarah M0 contributionsGreat half day tour from CuscoAwesome ruins tour. The group was small and our guide Jesse was so informative and timed the half day perfectly. Thanks Andes Peru!Written October 27, 2024
- 1221deb0 contributionsExcellent tour of Cusco ruins! This was a perfect tour for learning more about the history of Cusco and the Inca people. Jose was very knowledgeable and shared so many interesting things with us. He was also very patient and let us go at a comfortable pace as we were feeling the effects of the elevation. It was also really fun to learn about the alpacas and llamas and process of making the wool and feeling the variation in different fibers. Richard our driver was also great, especially considering the small roads he had to navigate. I’m so happy to have done the tour and give it 10/10!Written October 24, 2024

- janelA9600BR0 contributionsA phenomenal historical adventureThis tour was fabulous - so much more than I expected. I learned a lot of history, and Jose readily answered all questions. I now have a deeper respect for and interest in the ancient culture of Peru. In addition, Jose and “professional driver” Richard were kind and helpful to all members of our group. I have recommended this tour to others at our hotel. WonderfulWritten October 11, 2024

Amazing experience with breathtaking views. Jose and driver were very professional and we felt safe with them! Definitely would recommend this hike! It is a bit challenging but worth it! There are horses along the way that you can take for the hike up which made for a great experience. Dress in layers and bring your hiking sticks.

Jose Ttito the owner did wonders on this trip.I felt a bit sick while climbing and he was quick to grab a can of xygen and recover me. He always walked beside me to make sure that I was not feeling sick anymore. Such a fantastic guide and a great human being.
