- The climate in our country is very variant and does not consider the normal 4 seasons. Here, in just one day we can see all of the seasons! And this is why we recommend our visitors to be prepared for any occasion, either for rain or sunny days.
- A very important factor which alter our world is global warming, which has evolved into a high risky contributor due to the glaciers melting in Peruvian Andes, and it also affect the normal development of our weather.
- Nonetheless, something that is very marked in our country and in some cities here in the Andes is that we only have 2 main seasons during the year:
- Dry Season: We consider the dry season from the end of April until the end of September, in this period the first rains will start. For this reason, this is the best time to visit our region and our amazing Machu Picchu and also avoid any inconveniences.
- Rainy Season: This season starts on October until the end of April approximately, so during this time it is advised to all of our visitors to pack their belongings into waterproof bags, as in our region it can be sunny the first 2 hours and then have a heavy rain.
- We know that there are extreme climates worldwide, but this must not stop us from our longing and desire to explore the world, to discover marvelous cultures and interact with them. Be welcomed to Perú and Machu Picchu.
- This mountain is located inside Machu Picchu Archaeological Park, which is located at 300 meters more than Machu Picchu Inca Citadel; here it takes approximately just 45 minutes hiking up and other 45 minutes hiking down. This Mountain conserves some archaeological remains as the Moon Temple and other precincts that are interconnected with authentic trails, steps, tunnels and natural formatted caves which made the view more interesting. Without any doubt, this is one of the best attractions of Machu Picchu; the Huayna Picchu Mountain offers a 360 grades view and a stunning view of Machu Picchu Inca Citadel, Machu Picchu
- Mountain and the famous Sun Gate (Inti Punku). Currently our government through Ministry of Culture, maintain the visitors income controlled per day, only 400 tickets are offered per day and divided in 2 groups of 200 each. The first schedule starts from 7:00 to 08:00 am and the second from 10:00 to 11:00 am, for this reason its demand is growing day by day and if any of our visitors is interested in this hike, then it is necessary to make a booking at least with 3 months in advance in order to guarantee their visit to this extraordinary place.
- This mountain is located inside the park as well, and is only 1:20 hrs away hiking by your own. Once you reach the summit, you will take impressive photos with panoramic views of the entire valley in which is situated Machu Picchu inca citadel, you will also have impressive views of the Andes Mountain range and the glaciers that protect this unique ecosystem.
- The demand to obtain permits for this hike is quickly growing up, for this we advise a minimum of 2 months in advance to book the tickets, as there is a limit for visitors per day to experience this amazing hike. This hike has 2 schedules, the first from 07:00 am to 08:00 am and the second from 09:00 am to 10:00 am with a limit of 200 people per group.
- This is a private tour/activity. Only your group will participate
- For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours in advance of the start date of the experience.
- If you have questions about this tour or need help making your booking, we’d be happy to help. Just call the number below and reference the product code: 104389P1

- lynettew6310 contributionsFabulous from booking to completionJust returned from the Short Inca trail with Kenko Adventures and we highly recommend this tour. We requested to start the tour in Ollantaytambo and finish in Cusco so we were a little concerned about the logistics of luggage etc but it was seamless from start to finish. We were given a detailed briefing the day before the start of the tour and before that I asked some questions via WhatsApp and always got a prompt response. The trek itself exceeded my expectations, with fabulous views, some nice shady areas to stop and rest, countless photo opportunities and a fabulous guide, Migue, who provided a wealth of information, plenty of encouragement, and ample chances to rest. The lunch provided was huge, and included fried rice, lots of snacks, some water and juice. We were told to take an additional 1.5l of water which I thought would be excessive but I drank the lot. Dinner provided with the tour was also plentiful and the hotel was great with a much need hot shower and comfortable bed. The Machu Picchu site is a well-oiled machine, which caters to the 5000 visitors a day in an incredibly efficient way The included tour of the site is for circuit 3, and we were happy with what we saw and the guides description. We also added Uchay Picchu to the tour and this gave us a different view of the site via a short but steep climb. We had some time in Aguas Calientes before getting the train back to Ollantaytambo. A Kenko Adventures driver was waiting for us with our luggage and drove us back to Cusco. Seamless, fabulous, and wonderfully exhausting! Thank you Miguel and Kenko Adventures.Written August 14, 2024

- Isosilis0 contributionsWonderful experience 10/10We did the 2 day Inca trail (technically 1 day hiking and 1/2 day MP) and trip with Kenko tours was excellent. They picked up the luggage from our hotel and lot it for us until we were done. The logistics worked out smoothly (pick up from hotel, transfer back to Cusco, storing luggage) and our tour guide Rudi was amazing! He walked us through what was to be expected of the hike, he was knowledgeable of the history and area, his English was great, he was fun and showed us where the best spots were to take pictures. Would highly recommend to ask for him 😊 my Only suggestion is to ask if you can get an earlier train back to Cusco on the second day IF you are not interested to stay in aguas calientes for a long time (since we didn’t have a lot of time in Cusco we would have preferred to be back in Cusco earlier) We went to Machu Pichu early (bus at 6.30) to avoid crowds, so we had to kill 5 hours in aguas calientes. Train at 1 would have been perfect for us.Written July 20, 2024

Elvis met us at the airport and was a fantastic first point-of-contact. He was very helpful and friendly, and we felt right at home the moment we landed. The rainbow mountain tour was great, our guide made sure we got to the top but didn't impose too much. It was a wonderful experience.
We were exhausted on our last few days so had to cancel our planned Machu Piccu 1-day trip, and instead took the bus up the mountain. Kenko Adventures was very accommodating with our situation and our guide met us at the bus, talked with the entry clerks and got us through to see the ruins (there are many different types of passes).
We'll definitely be using Kenko Adventures again when we come back to Cusco. Highly recommend!!

What a great experience. Highlight of the trip to Peru. Kenko adventures took care of everything - from private transfer to the train station, buying our train tickets, providing a delicious lunch and snacks, and making sure we returned to our hotel safely.
Our tour guide was Victor who was excellent. He kept a good pace, allowing time to stop for rest and stop for pictures. He was extremely knowledgable about Peru, Incan history, and Machu Picchu. I really enjoyed that Victor was able to provide a lot of knowledge but also allowed my friends and I to just enjoy the hike and scenery without feeling the need to constantly engage. There were times where the hike was challenging but overall the 1 day short inca trail is great for travelers who are short on time or can't do the full inca trail.
Overall, Kenko Adventures was a great experience. Highly recommend this!

We had an incredible experience hiking the Inca trail with our guide Elvin during our Machu Picchu adventure. Everything was impeccably organized, and Elvin's wealth of experience truly shone as he guided us through the unknown trail. His insights into the history of Machu Picchu were captivating, and the Quinoa meal he provided for lunch was exceptional. This experience will stay with me forever. Many thanks to Kenko for their exceptional service.

We booked the one day inca trail with kenko adventures. They were so prompt and easy to communicate it. They catered our one day hike as we had decided to stay in Aguas calientes overnight after seeing Machu Pichu. Our guide Grober was amazing. I can’t tell you enough how much my husband and I appreciate the amount of help he provided us. Mid trail my husband got really sick and he guided us through the trail while carrying all our bags. He helped him through step by step and by miracle and his help he was able to finish the trek. He is also a wealth of information and knows so much about the culture. He was just a pleasure to have as our guide and day felt personable since it was just us 3. It was a day filled with adventure and memories we will never forget. Grober is the best guide and you cannot go wrong if you book with kenko. Thank you again Grober and kenko adventures.

AMAZING! Everything is taken care of from start to finish. Elvis the owner spoke with us the day before to explain the trip & talk through any questions we had. All pick ups, transfers, tickets & lunch was provided. The 1-day hike is perfect if you want the Inca trail experience but you're too short on time for the full trek. Our guide Victor truely made this a dream come true for us, he was good fun to spend the day with, very knowledgeable on Machu Picchu history, spoke excellent english...and can even help you get that 'insta worthy' snap. I couldn't rate this experience more highly - book your ticket, you won't regret it!!

I did the One day Inca Trail as a solo traveler with Elvis, and this was really a wonderful day. I must say, one of the most memorable days of all the trips I have ever made.
Everything was perfectly explained before the hike. I was staying in Ollantaytambo the night before to be able to wake up a bit later, I was picked up on time at 5:30 am.
The explanations given by Elvis during the trail and the Machu Picchu were really clear and interesting.
The snacks and the meal provided were very tasty.
I initially hesitated between the 2-day and 1-day trail, and I didn't regret choosing the 1-day version because I like to walk at a good rhythm, and we had plenty of time to explore Machu Picchu thoroughly. And then visiting and having dinner in Aguas Calientes in the afternoon.
I really liked the hike, especially the Wiñayhuayna site where there was no other tourist.
It is such an experience to discover the Machu Picchu through the Sun Gate, and having lunch while contemplating it.
The price includes the Vistadome train in the afternoon which is nice. Then a driver was waiting at the train station to drive back to Cusco.
But it is still a very long day, we arrived at Cusco at 10:30 pm (and I had issues with my hotel afterwards, but that's another story), so you need to be well rested and prepared.
So I could not recommend Kenko Adventures enough!
Thanks again Elvis!

Kenko adventures was absolutely fantastic for any Spanish or English speaker. We had Elvis as our guide and he was unreal! I spoke to him a few weeks prior to our trip about planning a trip and logistics. He was able to understand our situation and design a plan for us that went flawlessly. Not only was the Machu Picchu experience amazing but we had a free day in Cusco which Elvis was able to plan a one day experience to "rainbow mountain". Another great hike that shows a different side of the andes mountain range.
His knowledge and care for detail was tremendous to be around and learn from. If you are planning to come to Cusco and want to get a top quality, small group feel, choose Kenko and ask specifically for Elvis.
There are other groups and guides to choose from but while walking around Machu Picchu, I felt incredibly grateful to have Elvis and his knowledge. Truly passionate about sharing history, stories and knowledge of Peru.

This tour was great! We had a group of 4 and Victor was our tour guide. He was professional, so knowledgable, and we had a wonderful time!! We loved our "history lessons" when he would teach us about the culture and history behind Machu Picchu. This tour was not only a great hike (and workout), but so customizable to your needs--you can hike faster or slower and Victor will tailor your tour to your needs. Would 100% recommend.
