- The climate in our country is very variant and does not consider the normal 4 seasons. Here, in just one day we can see all of the seasons! And this is why we recommend our visitors to be prepared for any occasion, either for rain or sunny days.
- A very important factor which alter our world is global warming, which has evolved into a high risky contributor due to the glaciers melting in Peruvian Andes, and it also affect the normal development of our weather.
- Nonetheless, something that is very marked in our country and in some cities here in the Andes is that we only have 2 main seasons during the year:
- Dry Season: We consider the dry season from the end of April until the end of September, in this period the first rains will start. For this reason, this is the best time to visit our region and our amazing Machu Picchu and also avoid any inconveniences.
- Rainy Season: This season starts on October until the end of April approximately, so during this time it is advised to all of our visitors to pack their belongings into waterproof bags, as in our region it can be sunny the first 2 hours and then have a heavy rain.
- We know that there are extreme climates worldwide, but this must not stop us from our longing and desire to explore the world, to discover marvelous cultures and interact with them. Be welcomed to PerĂş and Machu Picchu.
- This mountain is located inside Machu Picchu Archaeological Park, which is located at 300 meters more than Machu Picchu Inca Citadel; here it takes approximately just 45 minutes hiking up and other 45 minutes hiking down. This Mountain conserves some archaeological remains as the Moon Temple and other precincts that are interconnected with authentic trails, steps, tunnels and natural formatted caves which made the view more interesting. Without any doubt, this is one of the best attractions of Machu Picchu; the Huayna Picchu Mountain offers a 360 grades view and a stunning view of Machu Picchu Inca Citadel, Machu Picchu
- Mountain and the famous Sun Gate (Inti Punku). Currently our government through Ministry of Culture, maintain the visitors income controlled per day, only 400 tickets are offered per day and divided in 2 groups of 200 each. The first schedule starts from 7:00 to 08:00 am and the second from 10:00 to 11:00 am, for this reason its demand is growing day by day and if any of our visitors is interested in this hike, then it is necessary to make a booking at least with 3 months in advance in order to guarantee their visit to this extraordinary place.
- This mountain is located inside the park as well, and is only 1:20 hrs away hiking by your own. Once you reach the summit, you will take impressive photos with panoramic views of the entire valley in which is situated Machu Picchu inca citadel, you will also have impressive views of the Andes Mountain range and the glaciers that protect this unique ecosystem.
- The demand to obtain permits for this hike is quickly growing up, for this we advise a minimum of 2 months in advance to book the tickets, as there is a limit for visitors per day to experience this amazing hike. This hike has 2 schedules, the first from 07:00 am to 08:00 am and the second from 09:00 am to 10:00 am with a limit of 200 people per group.
- This is a private tour/activity. Only your group will participate
- For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours in advance of the start date of the experience.
- If you have questions about this tour or need help making your booking, we’d be happy to help. Just call the number below and reference the product code: 104389P2

- 403timy0 contributions1 day Inca trail with RudyDid the 1 day Inca trail to Machu Picchu and had a fantastic time. Our tour guide Rudy was amazing- he went above and beyond, was very informative about culture and history, took great pictures for us, was very friendly and helpful. The views were jaw dropping. Amazing scenery. Me and my friend are reasonably fit and in our late 20s- there were a few steep parts that had us huffing and puffing as the trail is moderately strenuous. But there is plenty of time to stop and rest if needed. Recommend acclimatising and doing light exercise at altitude for a day or 2 prior. A hiking bag was very helpful. Insect repellant and sunscreen are essential. We started the hike at 8am (4am bus from cusco) and we beat the rain which often comes at the late afternoon/ fog in late afternoon. Recommend going early in morning. Bring plenty of water. Hiking boots were helpful. They provided poles. Bring 2L of water. Bring rain jacket.Written October 12, 2024

The booking process was very smooth and very flexible. Elvis our tour guide was amazing. We had so many family photos and he knows all the good spots. The Inca trail is not to be missed. The 4 days with Elvis was amazing and very memorable.Written September 21, 2024
- niavlys10 contributionsOne day Inca Trail - Excellent experience!I did the One day Inca Trail as a solo traveler with Elvis, and this was really a wonderful day. I must say, one of the most memorable days of all the trips I have ever made. Everything was perfectly explained before the hike. I was staying in Ollantaytambo the night before to be able to wake up a bit later, I was picked up on time at 5:30 am. The explanations given by Elvis during the trail and the Machu Picchu were really clear and interesting. The snacks and the meal provided were very tasty. I initially hesitated between the 2-day and 1-day trail, and I didn't regret choosing the 1-day version because I like to walk at a good rhythm, and we had plenty of time to explore Machu Picchu thoroughly. And then visiting and having dinner in Aguas Calientes in the afternoon. I really liked the hike, especially the Wiñayhuayna site where there was no other tourist. It is such an experience to discover the Machu Picchu through the Sun Gate, and having lunch while contemplating it. The price includes the Vistadome train in the afternoon which is nice. Then a driver was waiting at the train station to drive back to Cusco. But it is still a very long day, we arrived at Cusco at 10:30 pm (and I had issues with my hotel afterwards, but that's another story), so you need to be well rested and prepared. So I could not recommend Kenko Adventures enough! Thanks again Elvis!Written September 8, 2024
- H9444XQstephens0 contributionsBucket list hikeThis trip was Amazing! My wife and I were led on this trail by Edwin. He was fantastic as a guide, historian and just a great guy to take an 8hr hike with. The company set us up with bus ride from Hotel to train. Met Edwin at trail head and walked from there. Extremely knowledgeable about the trail, the ancient sites and just great convo all day. Had a couple beers with him after waiting for our train ride back, which he made sure we got on correct train. We highly recommend this trip and Edwin.Written September 1, 2024

- SophieJ12520 contributionsGreat hike, fascinating insight into Inca culture with some wildlife along the way.Just back home after a couple of weeks in Peru and Chile and this was a highlight of the trip. Sadly, my husband did not acclimatise well to altitude in Cusco so travelled on early to Santiago so I took this trek solo. Rudy was the perfect guide, constantly checking I was happy with the pace, especially when ascending! The view of Machu Picchu from the Sun Gate at the end of the hike is simply stunning. Everything was flawlessly organised from collection from the hotel, the train ride and fantastic packed lunch. This is a definite must do on any trip to Peru and comes highly recommended by me.Written August 27, 2024
- lynettew6310 contributionsFabulous from booking to completionJust returned from the Short Inca trail with Kenko Adventures and we highly recommend this tour. We requested to start the tour in Ollantaytambo and finish in Cusco so we were a little concerned about the logistics of luggage etc but it was seamless from start to finish. We were given a detailed briefing the day before the start of the tour and before that I asked some questions via WhatsApp and always got a prompt response. The trek itself exceeded my expectations, with fabulous views, some nice shady areas to stop and rest, countless photo opportunities and a fabulous guide, Migue, who provided a wealth of information, plenty of encouragement, and ample chances to rest. The lunch provided was huge, and included fried rice, lots of snacks, some water and juice. We were told to take an additional 1.5l of water which I thought would be excessive but I drank the lot. Dinner provided with the tour was also plentiful and the hotel was great with a much need hot shower and comfortable bed. The Machu Picchu site is a well-oiled machine, which caters to the 5000 visitors a day in an incredibly efficient way The included tour of the site is for circuit 3, and we were happy with what we saw and the guides description. We also added Uchay Picchu to the tour and this gave us a different view of the site via a short but steep climb. We had some time in Aguas Calientes before getting the train back to Ollantaytambo. A Kenko Adventures driver was waiting for us with our luggage and drove us back to Cusco. Seamless, fabulous, and wonderfully exhausting! Thank you Miguel and Kenko Adventures.Written August 14, 2024

It was a private group with 5 people which I enjoyed a lot because he took care of us very well. He was very smart and we learned a lot from him. I forgot my jacket which was in his backpack and he brought it back to my hotel the next day, which was very nice of him. I highly recommend Elvis for your next trip, you will not be disappointed. Logistics were handled the entire way from buses to trains to hotels to lunch. The Sacred Valley tour on day one followed by Machu Picchu and Wayanapicchu day two were great. I only wish we had more time to see more of this amazing country. William and Elvis were knowledgeable tours that shared their culture and the history of Peru with great detail. They ensured we had a memorable time and captured memorable photos. Our trip would not have been as wonderful without them.Written May 31, 2024

We did the 2-day Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu + Wayna Picchu tour. They organized everything so all we had to do was show up and enjoy it, stress-free. Willian was extremely knowledgeable with his background in history, English, and marketing, and Elvis was a pro at getting the perfect Machu Picchu photos. They are both from the community and have an impressive wealth of knowledge about the history and culture of this magical place. They are also passionate about sustainability in the industry, which aligned with our values. - paige_cd1250 contributionsExcellent experience with Victor on the two day Inca trail! We did the 2 day Inca Trail with Kenko Adventures and had no regrets- it was well organized from start to finish and we had great food and accommodation in Aguas Calientes. Especially appreciated the in-person briefing the day before our tour started to ask any questions etc. Our tour guide Victor was amazing and made the whole experience for us. His explanations of the different Inca sites, history of the area, and plants and animals were interesting and gave us a greater appreciation of the trail on the first day. His services as a tour guide extended to taking us to dinner in Aguas Calientes and dropping us to our hotel, ensuring we always knew what to do or where to go. On the second day, his knowledge of Machu Picchu and Incan history was second to none. Would highly recommend Victor as a tour guide to make your Inca trail experience the best. We just returned from Peru and did the 2 day Machu Picchu tour with Elvis. Right from the time of booking Elvis was professional and prompt answering all of our questions even calling us beforehand to go over our itinerary. We had an unforgettable 2 days and he took care of everything. We didn’t have to worry about a single thing. He was so knowledgeable, he could answer every question of ours and spoke perfect English. He even made sure we got great photos at the correct spots.Definitely the best tour guide I ever had and I would recommend this tour to anyone coming to Peru.

I did a solo 2 day short Inca trail in June 2022. It was an amazing experience, and perfect for those who want to do the Inca trail but don't have enough time for the traditional four day hike. Very happy with my experience, made stress-free by the well organised tour.
The day before the first trip, my guide Elvis met me at my hotel to explain everything I needed to prepare for the tour. On the first day, the private transport arrived on time to take me to the start of the hike and provide me with lunch. The first day hike was not too difficult, made easier by Elvis who made sure we kept a pace that was comfortable for me. Along the hike, Elvis explained the history of the Inca trail, the historical sites, and Incan society. At the end of the day, we reached Machu Picchu where Elvis found a quiet spot to take stunning photos.
After staying overnight in a 3 star hotel in Aguas Calientes (which was included in the tour), Elvis took me back to Machu Picchu and gave a detailed tour. I then went and climbed Huayna Picchu, which needs to be organised several months in advance due to limited tickets.
Best part? Elvis is an excellent photographer! He knew all the best places and angles to take photos. All in all, a well organised trip at great value compared to other tours.

We had a fantastic time on our trek. Our guide Grober met us the evening before and prepped us for the trip. He was very helpful throughout the trek, pacing the walk perfectly and was full of knowledge not just about the history but also the local fauna and flora (so many orchids!). Grober was fantastic and it was great to have the insight of a local (he seemed to know everyone of the locals and park rangers we passed!). We were both really happy with our trip with Kenko and would thoroughly recommend them to other travelers.

We’ve just completed the 2 day Inca Trail with Kenko and it was fantastic, well worth the money. Our guide Elvis was full of knowledge and knew all the best photo spots, plus he’s a great photographer!
We really enjoyed the pace of the hike and all the stops, the best part of this 2 day itinerary is getting to see Machu Picchu twice - doubling your chances for good weather!
The packed lunch is really good, as well as the evening and morning meals. As a vegetarian I was really impressed with the options for food. Our hotel in Aguas Calientes was also lovely, really nice rooms and a good location. Can’t fault this at all, would recommend booking with Kenko.

I booked the trip wtih Kenko Adventures because of the excellent reviews and I was not disappointed. The trip was planned well in advance and from the very beginning Elvis answered all my questions immediately whatever the time of the day and nothing was too much trouble for him. Unfortunately, we couldn't do the Short Inca Trail because my daughter was not feeling well, so at the last minute I had to change our plans. We still did Machu Picchu and climbed the Huayna Picchu. Elvis was very accommodating and able to cater to our needs without any complaints and aslo upgraded our train ride, which was very kind of him.
The whole tour was incredible and everything was smoothly and professionally run. Elvis had excellent knowledge of the Inca culture and it was very interesting to learn about their civilisation and the ruins. He is also an excellent photographer so we have picture postcard photos, which will be a memory to treasure forever. Attention to detail was very good and I have nothing but praise for Elvis and his team. They went above and beyond their call of duty.
I highly recommend Kenko Adventures and they deserve to be number 1. I wish them all the very best and thank you so much to Elvis foremost and also his driver for making this a truly memorable experience.

We took the 2-day trip with Kenko Adventures to visit Machu Picchu in late April 2024. While this was supposed to be a group tour, my wife an I were the only two in the group, so it ended up really being a private tour!
From the very beginning, communication with Kenko Adventures was excellent. Fast communication, a lot of detail, never leaving anything to wonder or worry about. Our main point of communication, as well as our tour guide, was Elvis, and he was simply outstanding in so many ways. His knowledge of history and geology was incredible, and he was able to answer the many, many questions that we asked of him. He took incredible care of us, and made sure our experience was first rate, at all levels of detail. He really made us feel more like family than like patrons of the business, and when it came time to part ways, we were very sad to no longer have his companionship.
Through this time with Kenko Adventures, we were able to build a lifetime of memories. If you have the opportunity to travel to Peru, I can very highly recommend Kenko as an intimate tour experience.

We just finished the Machu Picchu Inca Trail tour with Kenko , and it exceeded all expectations. Rudy, our guide, was phenomenal. His knowledge of the Inca civilization and his ability to convey that information in an engaging way really enhanced our trek. Rudy was also very accommodating, adjusting the itinerary as needed to ensure we all had a comfortable and enjoyable experience. The trail itself was breathtaking, and the logistics were flawless. If you’re considering this tour, ask for Rudy—you won’t be disappointed!

Highly recommend our guide Elvis and Kenko Adventures. This was an experience of a life time. Elvis is so knowledgeable about the Incas and Machu Picchu and shares this information with you. I am a slow hiker, in my 60's, so I was a little concerned about my ability to do this hike. Elvis helped me all along the way, he knew the trail every step of the way and paced us so that we arrived at the end of the day with the wonderful view of Machu Picchu after all the other tourist had left. He made sure we had what we needed when we needed it so that there were no bad surprises. Also, we were a small group of just 5 people, so we got a lot of personalized attention. The trip included a 3 star hotel in Agus Calientes and the deluxe train ride on the way back to Cusco. The communication is great before the trip as well.

We had an absolutely incredible time with Kenko Adventures. Our guide Elvis was extremely knowledgeable, methodical, and caring. Every step of the way was planned out and taken care of — he even had the exact amount of water we would need down to a tee. He also paced the trek really well and helped people along who need extra assistance or time. Highly recommend to anyone looking to do the short Inca trail!

Amazing way to reach Machu Picchu with children. We travelled with friends, 12 people group with 6 children age 3-13.
Great level of information from our arrival in Cusco and continueously throughout the hike and after.
The trip requires a reasonable physical condition, especially if the smaller childrens needs to be carried, and a comfortability with great heights and drops. Just as mentioned in the tour description. Our guides, Elvis and Franklin were always ready to help with bags, luggage and made sure that the trip was a pleasure to everyone.
Our youngest, age 3, enjoyed walking the to the last campsite of the Inkatrail, then she was carried to the Sungate (sleeping) where she woke and walk the last part of the Inkatrail, view of Machu Picchu by herself.
Great lunch, nice and carb-rich with quinoa and chicken, excellent for hiking. Our two other children, age 7 and 10 had no issues with the hike. Both are used to walking.
The hotel in Agua Callientes was nice. Big rooms and a hot shower. Perfect.
Dinner was included and Elvis and Franklin joined in, providing interesting stories and knowledge about Peru and especially the Quechua people, the Inkas and the historical knowledge of Machu Picchu and the people of the region.
Day two: nice breakfast on the top floor of the hotel. Elvis picked us up at the hotel, Franklin joined at the bus. The Kids were excited to go to Machu Picchu city.
Easy busride, great view, back to up to the city. Elvis and Franklin took turns explaining and guiding as we explored the wonderous place. Truly an adventure!
