Great tour with a great guide.
Flor was amazing and very accommodating. She was attentive to our well being as we were still acclimating to the altitude when we took this tour. She's so passionate about her culture's gastronomy and history that it really made the tour that much more enjoyable. Her recommendations for places outside of Cusco were also amazing. Overall it was a great tour, made better by a great tour guide.

    Fun food tour
We loved our tour with Flor! It was a great way to get to know the layout of the city on our second day there, and to learn the history. Flor was so nice, friendly, and easy to talk to, and her love of Cusco and Peru shines through her as a tour guide. We thoroughly enjoyed meeting her and the locals she introduced us to, and listening to all she had to say about the food, culture, and history in Cusco. She was able to give us advice about other things to do in the area as well. The food was beyond plentiful - come hungry! Highly recommend this tour company. Signing up online was seamless and they we quick to return emails about my various questions.

Amazing food tour with Liz (the best guide!)
Liz was so incredible- she really took good care of me, gave interesting information about the city and food, and was so much fun. She really made this a great experience, and gave me helpful tips and recommendations for restaurants in the city. Definitely ask for Liz as your guide!

Amazing tour with the best guide, Liz!
This tour is an amazing way to learn about Peruvian food, culture, and history! We had such a fantastic time with our guide Liz, who was extremely knowledgeable and kind. We would absolutely recommend Curious Money food tours to anyone coming to Cusco in the future.

Amazing Guide, Incredible Food, Vegetarian Friendly
I’ve done multiple food tours in a few cities across the globe and this was by far the best one. Our guide, Flor, was extremely knowledgeable about everything Peru related and was able to answer all our questions about food, culture, and getting around the area. She got us inside looks into multiple spots, did not hesitate to offer to take our picture, and was all around an amazing guide. One of us being a Vegetarian with some allergies, Flor was extremely accommodating and was able to take us to only locations where they served veggie options and was able to work around any allergies we had. She even booked us a reservation at another restaurant for dinner when she heard what food we were still looking to try. We tried foods we’ve always wanted to, and some we had never even heard of and we are happier than we could’ve hoped for. I could not recommend Curious Monkey and Flor more!

    Acclimatize with Food and Flor!
We did a walking food tour with Curious Monkey during one of our acclimation days in Cusco. We were looking for someone who could guide us around and explain the local food, markets, produce. Well, we lucked out with Flor. She’s the most friendly, knowledgeable introduction to Cusco we could have hoped for. Flor took us to her favorite places and we learned so much from her. All the food was delicious. Everyone Flor interacted with at the markets just loved her too. Don’t miss out on this tour as you get used to the elevation.

Must Do! Delicious & knowledgeable food & markets & culture tour
Our guide Liz gave the best city food tour I’ve ever done. She introduced us (a couple plus a friend) to foods and restaurants and markets we wouldn’t otherwise have tried. She was terrifically knowledgeable, describing the difference between the many types of foods. She brought cups and utensils so we could have small samples of many different foods and know it was all clean. She even washed lots of fruit with materials from her backpack! She shared SOOO much of Cusco’s culture. And she adjusted the tour to our needs. Then we saw her later on the streets of Cusco and got a big hug! We love Liz!!

Great experience with Flor from Curious Monkey!
We really enjoyed our food tour with Curious Monkey! Our guide was Flor and she was awesome. She took us to a lot of places we never would have found on our own. She was very knowledgeable about everything in Cusco. We felt very well taken care of - she even carried her own plates, cups and silverware for us to use to make sure we were safe. Would highly recommend this to anyone visiting Cusco.

    Great way to See Cusco
My husband and I had a great time with our tour guide Liz. We booked a group tour but it ended up being just the two of us. Liz took us to great places we wouldn’t have otherwise known about, had tons of interesting information, and was very prepared with bowls, plates, and everything we needed to enjoy our food along the way. Thanks Liz!

    Must Do While Visiting Cusco
This was beyond amazing! The tour guides are extremely knowledgeable with the food, culture and history. They were very considerate of the pace we took since it was our 2nd day in cusco. They also provided recommendations to other locations for dinner, along with following up to let us know we could reach out if we had any questions. We did a private tour as a couple and there where 2 tour guides (Luis and Liz). They provided hand sanitizer before each selection, brought plates and cups for us to use, and also washed all the local fruit we tried. The variety of places we got to try was a perfect mix of different Peruvian foods. Highly recommend if you'd like to dive into the food culture of cusco/peru and discover the local scenery.

Great way to see the markets and try all the tasty foods!
Corrine started the tours when she moved here a few years back and is a wonderful guide! She knows a ton about the city and culture and more importantly about the people and families that she takes you to see - you can tell she’s just in love with it all! Great food and great learning! We did this after being in the city for about 20 hours with no problems.

A Fun Evening Learning About Peruvian Street Food!
While on vacation in Cusco, we signed up for a Curious Monkey evening food tour -- what a fun way to experience Peruvian street food! Our guides Kacey and Liz brought our group of four to around six different food vendors. Curious Monkey has established relationships with these vendors -- they know that their foods are prepared with care. We were impresed that Kacey and Liz brought along clean plates for us to use, ensuring that we had a hygienic experience! We tried savory and sweet tamales, papas rellenas, hot cocoa and coffee from a family-owned organic producer, Peruvian churros, anticuchos (grilled skewers), chicha, and piccarones. Everything was delicious -- you will not go hungry on a Curious Monkey tour! We returned to the cocoa and coffee place again before we left Cusco to enjoy the high quality products. Thanks Kacey and Liz for a great experience!

Great food with a good guide
This was a very well organised and tasty tour. Corinne, our guide, certainly knows Peruvian food, Cusco and the tradition and culture behind lots of food. We got to taste a lot of delicious food, unusual juices and drinks, fabulous fruits, sweet cakes and VERY high quality coffee and chocolate at the Cafe Richarry where I got several gifts. Corinne has developed relationships with food producers, stall holders and shop owners. She takes food hygiene very seriously and provides utensils, cups, wipes and steriliser. Highly recommended

I had originally booked a tour at the beginning of my week in Cusco, but due to an email server issue my tour wound up being cancelled. I contacted the owner and she immediately went into problem solving mode. She sent me a refund and then scheduled a new tour for us with Liz. It was amazing - seriously. Liz knew so much of the history and culture of Cusco. She obviously had great relationships with each and every vendor; they all recognized her and greeter her with a big smile. The food was amazing, she knew all of the great hidden spots. They were very accommodating to my vegetarian life and even provided almond milk to substitute with my coffee. I truly cannot say enough good things. If you’re on the fence about this tour, do it. I promise you won’t regret it.

Dulce de leche churros and picarones - ‘nuff said.

This was a wonderful way to begin our stay in Cusco! Our guide, Flor, was extremely thoughtful, well-prepared, kind and engaging. We saw a lot of the city, ate a lot of delicious food, and learned about the ingredients, history, and people behind the food. I thought the tour was particularly well curated between restaurants and street food, tourist-oriented and local specialties, and a balance of products and experiences. Flor went above and beyond to accommodate the different needs in our group, which included three adults, two teenagers, and one vegetarian. I highly recommend this tour!

We have done probably over 50 food tours over the years of taking people traveling and this may have been the worse. I contacted the owner to let her know about our experience and she never even bothered responding to me. The guide had no energy, personality and spoke so low that no one in our group could hear him, despite us asking him to speak up multiple times. One by one our group member just decided to leave and do something else. It was embarrassing for me because I rave about food tours. This tour was just a bunch of standing around and waiting. I felt the value was extremely low for the food we received and the quality of the tour.

I am saddened to hear you did not enjoy your 2nd tour with us. I wanted to reply after I had gone over all the messages sent after the tour and completed a post tour meeting with the team. I was sorry to hear several of your guests were not feeling well that day. Which I am sure was very stressful for you and affected your final day in Cusco. Advising us at the start of the tour that some people were not feeling up to joining and inquiring about a refund. Our policy states that our tours are non refundable, changes can be made up to two weeks prior. As a fellow tour operator, I am sure you can understand all of the preparations and payments we had made prior to the tour. I am very proud of our guides and all our stops on the tour. With over 7 food items from tamales to causa and 5 beverages. We normally do not receive complaints on people not being full. Generally, the opposite of being too full. Our guides have been praised for being knowledgeable and sharing their passion for the food and culture of Peru. I know there were some challenges to keep one of the groups moving and focusing on the food tour while in the market. We did receive positive feedback; I am happy that your guests enjoyed the experience. I and the team will use this experience as a learning opportunity as we move forward. I wish you and your business well. Corinne

This food tour was one of the best things we did in Peru. The different food stops were all incredible and gave an excellent overview of Peruvian cuisine. But I think the biggest highlight for us was Flor. To say she was wonderful would be an understatement. She gave excellent descriptions of the food and history of Peruvian cuisine but also connected with us deeply on a personal level—so much so that I think my wife wants to be her best friend now.

Our two guides worked in tandem to provide a lively and informative tour that was both insightful and delicious. It was easy to tell that the guides (Lis and another enthusiastic woman whose name escapes me) we're passionate about their jobs, their city and their past and present food identities. It was just the right amount of time. It is a perfect activity to do early in your stay. Highly recommend- and we've been on many food tours on 4 continents.

My Boyfriend and I had an amazing food tour with Flor as our guide. She showed us food stands and dishes we would not normally get, but which were delicious! It was interesting to hear about the history and culture behind the food as well. If you have many days in Cusco, I would recommend doing the food tour in the first couple of days as your are introduced to food that you would love to taste again later. We also appreciated how she prioritized sanitation by frequently giving us hand sanitizer and thoroughly washing fruit before we ate it. As a bonus she helped us shopping in the local market for our dinner.

Had a great time on our food tour. Our guide was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable and showed us all the best spots to eat like a local. There was plenty of food and drinks along the way that we were left feeling like we couldn’t possibly eat another thing!

First and foremost Liz (Lizabeth) is AMAZING!!!!! Just completed this tour yesterday. We ate at about 7 spots. All portions were a healthy portion (not bite size). We were a group of 3. The pace of the tour was doable, even with mild altitude sickness. She was funny, personable, and gave excellent history. This tour is a must in cusco on day one or two or whenever. I don't know what else to say other then BOOK NOW !!!
